Getting High From Kissing with Taryn DeVere

In our final episode of Season 3, Grace Alice is joined by the ever-colourful and insightful Taryn De Vere, a multidisciplinary artist, performer, writer, speaker and parent of five. Taryn shares what it was like getting open, no-nonsense sex education in Australia, and then the major culture shock she felt moving to Ireland in the late '90s. Grace and Taryn explore how to educate kids without shame, why it’s so important to use real words for our bodies, and how those early conversations about consent and pleasure can set everyone up for healthier, happier relationships.

The discussion also covers how gender and neurodiversity fit into all of this, why being present in our sexual experiences can be so incredibly powerful (it can even make you feel a bit high!), and how Irish people, in particular, might need a little nudge to ask for what they want in and out of bed. Taryn is a fascinating person who is not afraid to live life outside of societal norms (they have married their husband 7 times now!), and was the perfect guest to wrap up this season of the G Spot with honesty, positivity...and plenty of colour.

Grace Alice Ó Sé is an award-winning sex and intimacy educator, author, and podcaster from Kerry, Ireland. She helps people have happier, healthier sex lives with 1-1 and couples coaching, workshops, and her exclusive Better Sex For Women and Libido Unlocked courses. Grace delivers shame-free sex education through Instagram (@grace_alice_oshea) and Irish media. Trained as a sex educator, coach, and occupational therapist, she is passionate about helping you find deeper joy, pleasure, and connection in your life. Visit gracealice.com to learn more!

Was My First Vibrator Carcinogenic? Probably! with Justine Stafford

Welcome back to The G Spot! In this episode, host Grace Alice is joined by the bright and brilliant comedian and actor Justine Stafford for a no-holds-barred conversation about growing up in rural Ireland, surviving Catholic guilt, and learning about sex the hard way (sometimes with the help of a €1.69 vibrator, a can of Coke and an air freshener). Grace and Justine unravel the impact of shame and stigma on sexual development as young women, get angry about labia-shaming, and tackle listener dilemmas about sex toys, body image, nasty comments from sexual partners and reclaiming sexual pleasure. Justine didn't just bring lots of laughter to this chat (which had Grace reaching for her inhaler at one point) but also very generously got vulnerable and shared some of her own tricky experiences. This episode serves to remind us that there’s no such thing as “normal” and that pleasure and exploration belong to everyone—no matter if you grew up in a city or in the shticks!

<itunes:summary>Welcome back to The G Spot!

Grace Alice Ó Sé is an award-winning sex and intimacy educator, author, and podcaster from Kerry, Ireland. She helps people have happier, healthier sex lives with 1-1 and couples coaching, workshops, and my exclusive Better Sex For Women course. Grace delivers shame-free sex education through Instagram (@grace_alice_oshea) and Irish media. Trained as a sex educator, coach, and occupational therapist, she is passionate about helping you find deeper joy, pleasure, and connection in your life. Visit gracealice.com to learn more!

Must Be His Hormones with Jean Young

Welcome back to The G Spot!

Host Grace Alice sits down with psychotherapist Jean Young (@jeanyourbestself) for an honest chat about all things sex, communication, and relationships. From their own awkward sex education stories to the realities of foreplay and tackling tough conversations with partners, nothing is off-limits. Jean shares insights from her therapy work, explaining why open, shame-free conversations matter, how to start having them (while also tackling any tears that come up!), as well as sharing what men and women tend to get 'wrong' about sex. This episode is packed not only with helpful, expert tips from Grace and Jean, but also personal anecdotes and reflections...making it all seem a lot less scary!

On this episode of The G Spot, Grace Alice sits down with the genuinely fabulous Lorraine Keane—broadcaster, presenter, charity advocate, and all-around icon of our Irish screens—for a truly open and honest chat. The pair dive deep into menopause, busting myths and sharing empowering personal stories about breaking the silence around women's bodies and all the natural cycles and stages we go through in our lives. Lorraine shares her own experience as the first Irish woman to speak so publicly about menopause, highlighting the importance of education, lifestyle choices, and having the right support, especially from partners as our bodies and sex drives go through changes. Grace and Lorraine also answer listener dilemmas, offering practical and compassionate advice on rocky relationship dynamics during menopause and keeping your relationship happy and satisfying in the long-term, even when you are left in the 'empty nest' together.

I Don't Give A Sh*t Anymore with Barbara Scully

On this episode of The G Spot, Grace Alice welcomes renowned broadcaster and writer Barbara Scully for a refreshingly honest and genuinely empowering conversation about aging, womanhood, sexiness, desirability and reclaiming your sense of self in midlife and beyond. Barbara shares her experiences raising 3 daughters across 2 generations, confronting societal shame as an 'unmarried mother' in the 80's, and pushing back against the silence and negativity often surrounding ageing (women getting older - shock horror!).Grace and Barbara talk openly about imperfect sex education, learning to dismantle shame and embracing your own sexuality and sexiness at every stage of life. Together, they offer heartfelt advice to a listener struggling with fears of invisibility as she ages, reminding us that our power and desirability can actually deepen with time - not fade away.Barbara brought her no-nonsense wisdom in buckets to this episode, plus plenty of humour too, of course! This is a must-listen if you’re ready to break free of ageist stereotypes and claim your next chapter with confidence, regardless of if you're in your 20's or your 70's. Because that fear of ageing is sold to women of all generations, and we need to stop buying into it!

Hot In My Own Way with Lauren Whelan

Welcome to season 3 of 'The G Spot'!

Grace Alice sits down with the very stylish and very sound content creator
Lauren Whelan. Lauren opens up about her own experiences with sex ed -
or the lack thereof - growing up in Carlow, why she and her friends
learned more from each other (and the Internet) than from teachers,
navigating the ups and downs of young relationships, and how female
empowerment is reshaping young women’s attitudes towards dating and
independence. From red flags and getting "the ick" (don't try and pick
up a tennis ball around Lauren, you've been warned), the power of
therapy, and learning to love yourself in a world obsessed with beauty
standards, Grace and Lauren cover A LOT in this episode.

The G Spot Season 3 - Coming Soon!

The G Spot is back and juicier than ever! Season 3 of The G Spot will kick off on Wednesday the 9th of July. This season we have a fantastic lineup of guests including Lauren Whelan, Barbara Scully, Lorraine Keane and Justine Stafford just to name a few.

'Finally, Season 3 of The G Spot is here! Like with our first and second seasons, each guest and episode is meticulously thought out, and I'm delighted with how it's all come together. Plus, we have doubled our bonus content, so I can say with zero hesitation that this season has been worth the wait. I'm very grateful to have sat down with eight more wise, curious and unique minds. I think listeners will find themselves laughing, learning, and hopefully feeling a little less alone. I’m proud to create a space in Ireland where sex and relationships are talked about with both depth and lightness, and I can’t wait for people to tune in!' - Grace Alice

Kids Are Not Content with Dr. Nicola Fox Hamilton

In the latest episode of The G Spot, Grace speaks to the beauty and the brain that is cyberpsychology researcher and lecturer Dr.Nicola Fox Hamilton.
Nicola tells Grace about her bare-bones sex education experiences and was hugely helpful in helping Grace address some technology-related dilemmas. They tackle a particularly tricky co-parenting challenge which leads onto an interesting conversation about the ethics of posting pictures and videos of children online.
Extravagant Porn with Daragh Fleming

This week on the The G Spot, Grace speaks to award-winning writer Daragh Fleming, who has been a fantastic advocate for mental health promotion through his poetry, blog, books and social media content.
Daragh reflects on his experiences of sex education and the pressures young men can absorb when it comes to sex and sexual performance. And of course, Grace and Daragh figure out some dilemmas...
One of our dilemma-writers is frustrated with her partner as he won't talk about his erection difficulties, and their sex life has now fizzled out, while another has been faking orgasms with his girlfriend as she gets offended if he does not cross the finish line. Expect solid advice, personal insights and a few laughs too!
There are some brief references to mental health struggles in this episode. Samaritans Ireland offers 24/7 emotional support for anyone going through a tough time; reach them at 116 123 or click on this link to see details for various mental health services on the HSE website.

More Than A Victim with Natasha O' Brien

In episode 2, Grace has the pleasure and honour of speaking to the incredible Natasha O' Brien. Natasha is a human rights activist whose voice has been instrumental in addressing gender-based violence in Ireland and the flaws in our justice system.
Grace and Natasha discuss Natasha's experience of being the victim of a violent attack and navigating the extremely challenging legal process. And because Natasha is - like so many of us - much more than a victim, we talk about lots more too, including sex education, supporting a partner who has been sexually assaulted and approaching the delicate situation of when you can't stand your loved one's new partner!
Please read on further for info on support services related to the topics discussed.

Fun, Sexy and Thriving with Keelin Moncrieff

Within this episode, Grace talks to beloved Youtuber and podcaster Keelin Moncrieff!
Grace and Keelin talk about picking up shame around sex and masturbation, growing up in a naked family, how we learn to objectify ourselves, choosing more ethically produced porn, how to deal with your partner pushing you to watch porn and the insecurities that can arise from a partner's porn use, setting boundaries and communicating around porn use in a relationship, how to get back out there after being cheated on by an ex (during pregnancy! - I believe the term "cheating bastard" was used), remembering your worth, the mad things you hear in school staff rooms, the double standards faced by mothers compared to fathers, enjoying casual sex as a single mum...and as always, heaps more.

Grace is joined for this episode by the enchanting content creator, storyteller and comedian Aoife Dunne...and they could not stop chatting, so this episode is a good and chunky one for you, with lots of very intimate insights from both. Grace and Aoife chat in depth about vaginismus and their experiences, feeling like your body - particularly your vagina - is working against you, reflecting on how horror stories around sex made us afraid of having it, learning to honour our bodies and boundaries in our 30's, how sexual difficulties impacted our relationships, navigating vaginismus when you're single and dating, enjoying lots of non-penetrative sexy bits, exploring the question 'is it OK to hate being single?', going on the hunt for deeper more fulfilling friendships, and lots, lots, lots more.

Be Gay, Dump Him with Cian Griffin

Grace is joined for this episode by the iconic Cian Griffin (aka @Gaylgeoirí). Cian is an LGBTQ+ content creator, writer, podcaster, and media personality who creates content in English and Irish...and now he is a friend of the G-Spot!
Grace and Cian chat about discovering sexy material as a teen through Bebo and pixelated GIFs in the 00s, how porn can actually normalise some positive aspects of sex, some differences between sexual messaging then and now, questioning your sexual identity when in a relationship, the harm of heteronormativity, different ways of exploring our sexuality, properly introducing Grace to the work of Chappell Roan, getting uncomfortable when friends ask questions that feel invasive, how first-time sex is like the Leaving Cert and making pancakes, why it might be a great decision for you to wait to have sex, feeling more comfortable with being 'inexperienced' and why it doesn't need to be a big deal, faking it vs. being honest...and as always, plenty more!

I'm A Big Virgin Baby with Laura O' Mahony

Grace is joined for this episode by the ray of (very funny and lovely) sunshine that is Laura O' Mahony. Laura is a stand-up comedian, mom of 3 and you may also know her from her brilliant podcast Red Raw, which she co-hosts with Rob Heffernan. Yes, another fabulous guest from Cork!
Grace and Laura chat about everything from Cillian Murphy to OnlyFans. They talk about growing up quite 'sheltered' when it comes to sex, what it's like to have only had sex with one person, the comfort of hearing the phrase "that's normal", performing sex vs. actually figuring it out, when your vagina doesn't seem to want to have sex, how our parents can evolve along with us as times change, knowing better and doing better when we have our own kids, navigating sex and boundaries when you are living at home with your parents, how Grace used to disable the house alarm and sneak boys into her room, figuring out conflicting feelings when your partner wants to set up an OnlyFans, making time for sex when you have kids...and as always, so much more!

Let Shags Be Shags with Fionnuala Jay

Grace is joined this week by broadcaster and host of the Flop Culture podcast, Fionnuala Jay! Fionnuala and Grace chat about the differences between sex education today and when we were young, the rise of far-right fear-mongering around sex education, the myth that Grace is bringing around a suitcase of sex toys to schools, realising you've slept with your new partner's brother, the stress of keeping a secret, coping when your partner's mental health issues are affecting your sex life, thinking about your needs while also being empathetic towards your partner, the stigma around putting ourselves first and setting boundaries as women, having less cruel break-ups, the resentment and anger that can simmer under people-pleasing, why we need government-funded rage rooms...and lots more!
As Grace flagged in the intro to this ep, there are some references to mental health and depression. You can contact Samaritans for support on 116 123 or click on this link to see details for various mental health services on the HSE website. There is also a brief mention of a type of emotional abuse - you can use the services above or also contact Women's Aid at www.womensaid.ie or on 1800 341 900 and Men's Aid at www.mensaid.ie or on 01 554 3811.

Straight In, No Kissing with Pádraig Wilson McCarthy

Grace is joined this week by content creator and host of The Voicenote and Queeriosity...hailing from Ireland's real capital, it’s Pádraig Wilson McCarthy! Pádraig and Grace chat and cackle their way through many different topics, from the lighter to the heavier and plenty in between. They talk about not having a clue about sex when growing up, the pain of watching sex scenes with your parents (Pádraig watched Saltburn with his mam, bless his heart), silly nicknames for our genitals, normalising how different relationship structures suit different people, telling your partner if you're tempted to cheat, making the incredibly difficult decision between staying in your current relationship or pursuing a new one, how having a 'good body' won't make you good at sex, believing partners when they compliment us, body image difficulties in the bedroom, getting out of our heads and into the moment, Beyoncé and Jay-Z...the list goes on.
As Grace flagged in the intro to this ep, there are some references to body image difficulties and disordered eating. You can contact Bodywhys for support. Their website has lots of info and can be found at www.bodywhys.ie. You can call their helpline on 01-2107906 or access their email support service via alex@bodywhys.ie.

You Don't Know Until You Try with Karla K

This week, Grace is joined by the fab fab fab Karla K. Karla is the co-host of podcast “The Unpopular Opinion”, marketeer and beauty educator from Dublin. Grace and Karla delve into some nostalgia around learning about sex (J17 magazine ring any bells?!), how the media we grow up with shapes our views about women and sex, why we should not be turning to Reddit sex challenges for the 'cure' to decreasing desire, how to handle a partner's newly shared kink when you are not into it, how libido is much more complex than we may think (which is a good thing!)...and we bust some libido myths along the way for good measure. This episode has A LOT packed in and does not disappoint!

This episode is sponsored by PlayBlue, Ireland's favourite adult store. Ireland’s Favourite Adult Store.
Be The Pillow Queen with James Kavanagh

In our first episode, The G-Spot is kicking things off with a bang! Grace chats to the charming TV presenter, podcaster and social media star that is James Kavanagh. Grace and James talk about his experiences of sex education as a teen (anyone else remember the TV being wheeled out to the front of class?!), finding support and friendship through the LGBTIQ+ youth organisation BeLonGTo, how to cope with insecurities about your partners' seemingly perfect ex, navigating casual sex that is physically but not erotically satisfying, exploring core desires, telling our partners what we want, not being afraid of our partners' fantasies, and what James would say to his 14 year old self who was grappling with an STI diagnosis after having sex for the first time. And those are just the highlights!
Belong To – LGBTQ+ Youth Ireland is the national organisation supporting LGBTQ+ young people in Ireland. You can contact them on 01 670 6223 (Monday-Friday from 9am-1pm & 2pm-5pm). This number is not a helpline, but BeLonGTo signposts to many important services on their site - www.belongto.org.
