Boos rained down from the biggest crowd of the season at the Dome as the game ended. Donnie Freeman got ejected. SU's stagnant offense cost it a chance to win a game that was there for the taking with UNC missing Caleb Wilson.

It was the worst conference loss for SU since it joined the ACC and in the three-year Adrian Autry era as head coach.

SU has now lost 11 straight games to Duke by an average of 20.7 points per game.

Syracuse trailed SMU by 12 points but came back to clinch the win a Nate Kingz drive with 2.3 seconds remaining.

What a wild night at the JMA Dome with the game going to double overtime and two power surges affecting the lighting at the Dome, with the second one taking out the scoreboards and ribbon lighting to create a darker atmosphere in the building.

If you want to look on the bright side, SU trailed by 32 points at one point of the game (72-40) and fought to trim the deficit down to six points before eventually losing by 10.

The Orange have hit the low point of Adrian Autry's tenure as head coach as it hit its first four-game losing streak under the Orange head coach.

Syracuse's season and Adrian Autry's seat have hit a boiling point after two bad losses for the Orange that dropped them to 12-7 (3-3). 

Fans are fed up. There were audible boos and chants to fire the coach in a sparsely-attended JMA Dome on Wednesday night.  Autry was visibly frustrated in his press conference, dropping an F bomb just 30 seconds in. Players were despondent in the locker room.

Donnie Freeman was the star again for the Orange in dropping 25 points on the Seminoles, the third straight game he has scored 20 or more points for SU.

It was a tale of two halves for Syracuse. The Orange offense was humming in the first half. SU scored a season-high 44 points before halftime. The ball and the team were moving and Donnie Freeman showed his importance to the Orange on the way to a game-high 27 points. 

SU was up by 20 points at one point of the game, but saw that lead melt down in the 2nd half to just five with 11 2nd-half turnovers and consistent defensive miscues.

Wins are hard to get on the road in the ACC but SU made it just a little too hard on themselves in this one.

SU's furious rally in the 2nd half came up just short as Donnie Freeman's 3-pointer in the closing seconds came up short.

Axe discusses how SU head coach Adrian Autry claimed at his postgame press conference that "there's nothing wrong with the offense" even though SU fans have struggled to grasp what his offensive philosophy is. It wasn't a pretty game at all for the Orange, who got worked in the paint (St. Joe's out-rebounded SU 44-34) and just couldn't find a rhythm on offense. 

Axe described the combination of factors that led to such a blah night at the Dome. SU had 9 days off entering the game. It was a late 9 p.m on a snowy night in Syracuse. Players had exams this week and a few were under the weather.

As Axe discussed, that doesn't excuse a few concerning patterns the Orange have with a lack of offensive identity and its terrible free-throw shooting, but at least they were able to dig deep and grind out a win.

SU earned a much-needed signature non-conference win by taking down the Vols at the JMA Dome on Tuesday night. Not only for its NCAA Tournament resume, but to show the Orange fanbase and itself it could punch up and win a big game like this after losing three straight games to ranked teams in Las Vegas at the Players' Era Festival.

After trailing by just one point at halftime, the Orange got blasted by the Cyclones in the second half (60-30) who went on to thump Syracuse by 31 points.

Syracuse failed to find an offensive rhythm or go-to guy with Donnie Freeman on the bench with an injury for the 2nd straight game. SU shot 32% (20-63) with a 7-30 (23%) mark from 3-point range against the Jayhawks. SU struggled from the free throw line against Kansas, shooting 13-23 (56.5%).

Kiyan Anthony was 2-12 against the Jayhawks, including 0-6 from 3-point range. Axe explains on the show how SU head coach Adrian Autry has to be careful with how much of a green light Anthony gets on offense if he's taking bad shots and doesn't have a noticeable matchup advantage.

Can Collins improve from generating nearly 19 points fewer against Power-Four competition for the Orange offense? 

According to Pro Football Focus, Collins has a turnover-worthy play percentage of 7.5 percent this season, which means that 7.5 percent of his drop backs this season have resulted in plays were likely to end in a turnover.

That is the worst rate in the country among quarterbacks who have at least 100 drop backs this season.

Despite playing in just four games and only starting two, Collins is tied for 19th in the country with five interceptions, according to PFF.

SU trailed by just three points at halftime (31-28) but shot 8-of-30 in the 2nd half and were out-scored by SMU 42-25 after halftime, ending one of the most disappointing seasons in SU history.

It was a "survive and advance " type game for SU who won despite shooting just 2-of-14 from 3-point range, 12-22 from the free throw line and letting a 16-point lead wilt down late in the game.

SU put together one of its best defensive efforts in recent memory, smothering Virginia's shooters to force the Cavaliers into a 3-of-15 shooting night from 3-point range. 

Eddie Lampkin was terrific in the paint once again with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Jyare Davis and Lucas Taylor also scored 15 points each for the Orange.

So now the question is how much of this can Syracuse carry forward into the ACC Tournament and are the Orange capable of stringing together a run in Charlotte?

While not a surprise that Autry is back for a third year, Brent and Chris discussed the immense pressure that will be on him to prove he's the guy for Syracuse basketball. The Orange will have to make a serious impact in the transfer portal and get the most of out freshman Kiyan Anthony and Sadiq White. 

Does Syracuse have the resources in place to make Autry a better coach in a college sports environment where most Power 4 schools are spending more money, adding staff and finding third-party NIL sources? 

In order to make the NCAA Tournament, SU will have to win 10-12 more games, improve markedly on defense and Autry will have to turn around a narrative that SU can't close the deal on tight games.

The Orange found a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again as it let another double-digit lead evaporate into a loss. SMU scored on 15 of its last 16 possessions and dominated in the paint in the 2nd half (28-10) to squeeze out the two-point win over SU despite a 13-of-27 performance at the free throw line.

Another lackluster defensive effort haunted SU against the Tar Heels, wasting a 26-point night from Eddie Lampkin and 22 points from JJ Starling. 

SU's guiding light now with five games to go in the season is to avoid being left out of the ACC Tournament.

Brent discusses how It was the rock bottom loss for Syracuse under head coach Adrian Autry. Sure, SU has been blown out by 29-points to Duke and has several double-digit losses this season, but losing to a 5-18 team with one ACC win this season entering Tuesday night's game? That's about as low as it gets.

It certainly wasn't the prettiest game in the world. In fact, one might call it the "best worst game ever," but Syracuse got the win in its first game to go to three overtimes since the famous 6OT game against UConn in the 2009 Big East Tournament. 

JJ Starling led Syracuse with 28 points. Eddie Lampkin played 49 minutes, giving Syracuse a strong 14 points and 18 rebounds.

Wednesday's 29-point win by Duke over Syracuse, its 10th straight win over the Orange, shows the gap has never been wider between the two ACC programs. Brent examines some big picture postgame comments made by SU head coach Adrian Autry and questions why SU fans should believe him. 

As for the the game, Cooper Flagg was not as dominant as advertised with 11 points and 5 rebounds but certainly had some "Sportscenter" worthy moments. The crowd at the dome (listed as 23,213) brought some buzz and energy to the building, especially the students, but unfortunately were not given a game to invest in as the 2nd half became a laugher.

The Orange dug itself way too deep of a hole to escape in trailing Stanford 25-2 in the first-half. While SU did cut the lead down to six points late in the game, it couldn't do enough to overcome Stanford, who never trailed against Syracuse. 

Axe broke down SU's poor starts and the other stat that keeps sinking games for SU, points off turnovers. SU gave up 19 points off 14 turnovers.

SU's 2025 schedule is clearly one of the toughest in the country with 5 opponents who won 10+ games, 7 opponents who won 9+ games and all 11 FBS opponents went to a bowl in 2024. SU will play 4 teams that made the College Football Playoff (Tennessee, SMU, Clemson, Notre Dame) all away from the JMA Dome.

SU lost to Pitt despite out-rebounding the Panthers 48-31, with Eddie Lampkin collecting 23 of those boards, and hitting 11 3-pointers. 

Pitt was able to overcome that by only committing three turnovers and shooting 58% in the 2nd half against the Orange.

SU's first-half struggles continued at Clemson as the Tigers out-scored SU 28-10 in the last 10 minutes of the 2nd half.

Clemson also dominated points in the paint (40-20) and points off turnovers (19-4). 

The 14-point loss was SU's sixth double-digit defeat of the 2024-25 season. 

JJ Starling was one of the lone bright spots for the Orange with 25 points but Brent describes how SU needs more balance on offense and more movement on offense to generate more points.

What a game! Syracuse was down by 17 points in the first half but came back to beat the Irish at the JMA Dome. Brent discusses the adjustments made by SU's defense to slow down Notre Dame's Markus Burton, who had 22 points in the first half.

Louisville completely shut down SU guard JJ Starling, who was held to four points on 1-of-7 shooting. The Orange really didn't have a Plan B on offense with Starling out of the mix and Donnie Freeman still absent from the lineup with a leg injury.

SU's defense wasn't much better as the Cardinals hit 12 3-pointers on the Orange with most of those coming from Chucky Hepburn, who had 24 points.

The Orange used a late 22-6 run and were clutch at the free throw line down the stretch to earn its first road win of the season. 

JJ Starling was one of first Syracuse players in double figures with 26 points. Eddie Lampkin added 10 points and 13 rebounds. Kyle Cuffe gave SU a major lift off the bench in the second half, including two clutch 3-pointers.

McCord made a massive impact in one season at Syracuse, leading the nation with 4,779 passing yards. That set a Syracuse and ACC single-season passing mark. McCord also set a Syracuse record with 34 touchdowns in a single season. 

With McCord's place on the Mt. Rushmore of Syracuse quarterbacks, Brent has early thoughts on the quarterback competition to replace him. Will Fran Brown look for another quarterback in the transfer portal or will the competition focus on LSU transfer Rickie Collins Jr., sophomore Jakhari Williams and senior Michael Johnson Jr. with freshman Luke Carney and Rich Belin also in the mix.

SU fell to 6-7 (0-2) with top recruit Kiyan Anthony watching courtside. Brent discussed how SU continued to struggle from the 3-point line, shooting 1-of-11 distance in the 2nd half.

The 27-point loss was the worst of the season for the Orange, topping a 26-point loss to No.1 Tennessee. SU scored 17 points at halftime, its lowest total for a half of basketball all season.

The listed attendance for Saturday's game was 17,18. While the fans that did go to the game were loud and created a great atmosphere for the 100th meeting of SU-Georgetown, that's a concerning number for SU's main rival in a series that routinely used to get 30,000+ into the Dome. 

Georgetown ironically used a zone defense, the signature weapon of Jim Boeheim's tenure it had to face for so many years, to flummox the Orange on Saturday afternoon. Eddie Lampkin (18 points) and Jyare Davis (15 points) both had good offensive games inside, but the Orange defense struggled in the paint, get out-scored in that area 48-34.

Tuesday's win was a matter of perspective. SU's offense scored over 100 points in regulation for the first time since 2016. Donnie Freeman had 24 points despite not starting the game. Jaquan Carlos continued to overcome his struggles with 12 points and 12 assists.

The Orange failed to hit a 3-pointer in a game (0-9) for the first time since 2014 in South Bend which was a big factor in the loss along with SU's 16-of-24 mark at the #FreeThrowsMatter line.

It was the biggest comeback ever for Syracuse football, down 21-0 in the first half. Brent and Chris discuss how SU pulled off the comeback and capped the 2024 regular season at 9-3. SU has a chance to play for a 10-win season for just the third time since 2001.

Freshman Donnie Freeman (23 points+12 rebounds) and Elijah Moore (19 points, 7 rebounds, 5 3's) stepped up big for SU against the Big Red with SU's veterans struggling.

SU quarterback Kyle McCord continues to chase down records. McCord broke the record for passing yards in a single season on Saturday (3,946). He is 54 yards away from becoming the program's first 4000-yard passer. He also tied the single-season record for passing TDs (26) and passed for 470 yards against UConn. That mark was just 13 aways from breaking SU's single-game passing mark (482).

As Brent says often, #FreeThrowsMatter and SU's 9-of-18 performance at the charity stripe cost the Orange in a close loss to the Longhorns. Syracuse trailed Virginia Tech 21-3 in the third quarter but out-scored Virginia Tech 35-17 to win in overtime. Brent and Emily discuss how the Orange got its offense going after struggling in the first half. Wide receiver Justus Ross-Simmons' breakout game had a lot to do with that for the Orange with his 55-yard touchdown starting the comeback. It was a game where Syracuse needed a little bit everything, including some Las Vegas luck, to take down UNLV for the jackpot. Brent and Emily recap an epic night including LeQuint Allen's stalwart performance through injury on the way to four touchdowns, including the winning score in overtime where he just refused to go down.

The win over the Rebels also featured a massive comeback performance from Oronde Gadsden, who went from one catch for four yards against Holy Cross to a career-high 10 catches for 142 yards against UNLV.

Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord threw 63 passes (40-of-63) for his fifth straight 300-yard game (355 yards), overcoming a fourth-quarter interception to lead Syracuse down the field to tie the game, send it into overtime and eventually snag the win.

It was an epic game and an epic time for Syracuse fans in Las Vegas, who now have the memory of a lifetime.
