Sit. Stay. Hire. is a podcast about what dogs teach us about hiring, leadership, and trust at work, hosted by Jackye Clayton.

Jackye has spent more than 15 years in talent acquisition and HR technology. She's also a GoodPup Certified Trainer who boards and trains dogs in Waco, Texas. She set out to write a business book about hiring. What she ended up with is closer to a requiem for corporate leadership, told alongside the story of Shiloh, a foster dog who came to her after being hit by a car and never left.

Each episode pairs a dog story with a real hiring or leadership problem. Why do good candidates walk away? What does trust on a team actually look like? Why do companies reward the loudest behavior and miss the signal that matters? What happens to people in systems not built with them in mind?

Season 1 guests include Steven Rothberg, John Sumser, Katrina Collier, Dr. Akilah Bradford, Katee Van Horn, Carrie Corcoran, Julia Levy, Brian Fink, Noelle London and Trish Ferrett.

For recruiters, hiring managers, HR and people leaders, founders, and anyone who has trained a dog and thought, "This is exactly what's wrong with our interview process."

Season 1 premieres Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with three episodes. New episodes every Tuesday after that.

Sit Stay Hire: Official Trailer

She set out to write a leadership book about what dogs could teach us. Then life changed the story. Recovering from surgery and facing the possibility of never walking without help, host Jackye Clayton brought home Shiloh, an injured foster dog facing his own uncertain future. As they learned to walk again, she began questioning what she thought she knew about leadership, belonging, and herself.

Sit Stay Hire brings together personal storytelling and conversations with people whose careers revolve around who gets hired, who advances, and who gets left behind. What emerges challenges how we lead—and what we’re willing to change about ourselves. Ten episodes. Lots of dogs. Starting November 3. Listen to the trailer and follow "Sit. Stay. Hire." so you don’t miss the first episode.
