The odds seemed impossible. The Soviets had gone to the Olympics before and won gold, and had outplayed every team they had faced. In comparison, Team USA was made up of a bunch of collegiate hockey players who had never played together on a team.  Yet, Team USA did the miraculous and beat the highly favored Soviet Union.  How did coach Herb Brooks take a bunch of college kids to beat a more experienced and world dominant Soviet olympic team?
