Chandra was sharing how she felt like there were significant gaps in her memory. Although there are events that she knows actually happened she has no recollection of what transpired during the event.  What did the room look like?  Who else was present in the room at the time?  Etcetera, Etcetera…

And what about those situations where you meet a perfect stranger that you feel like you already know.  But no matter how much the two of you rack your brains and compare histories you can’t figure out from where or when this familiarity comes.

This led us to the question…..  Does our memory accurately document our experience?  Or is it as fallible a recording device as magnetic tape or corrupt digital file?

The interesting thing is that as you learn more about the process, we often realize we’ve been Astral Traveling without knowing it.

Sometimes what we wake up to thinking is simply a vivid or recurring dream has actually been our soul’s nightly travels.

It seems the fine art of constructive conversation has lost its luster. Well, let us explain why we don’t think so.  For many of us our whole concept of manifesting shifted when you start to realize you are not manifesting a “thing”. You are manifesting an “opportunity”. And just like an opportunity, when it shows up there still comes the decision to accept the opportunity or reject it.

This storied building has been the topic for many an adventurous ghost-hunter. But nothing do the Crew but experience it for ourselves.  And to be honest, it was not exactly what any of us were expecting.

Trans-Allengheny was developed based on Dr. Thomas Story Kirkbride’s theory, referred to as the “moral treatment” of the insane. His teaching influenced hundreds of mental facilities across the nation.  His designs boasted  long wings that afforded lots of sunlight and air to comfortable living quarters so that the buildings themselves lifted the patient's morale. These facilities were designed to be entirely self-sufficient providing the patients stimulating mental and physical activities.

We think it is due to this “intention” that the building has a much lighter energy that one would expect. However, we definitely got our money’s worth when the tour began to look at much more recent patient treatments like the cold baths and lobotomies. Obviously there were dark spaces and moments on the tour, but all in all a pleasant afternoon.

George Vanderbilt, grandson of shipping entrepreneur and industrialist Cornelius “the Commodore” Vanderbilt, began purchasing land in Asheville area in 1888 ending up with 125,000 acres for what would become his country estate. Vanderbilt hired architect Richard Morris Hunt to design and build the 250-room château, the largest single family home in the United States. The house opened to guests for the first time in December of 1895.

Listen as we discuss the synchronicities that accompanied us on the drive to Asheville, as well as some of the spirits and energies we experienced inside the house and on the grounds of the estate. After having been introduced to the galactic Hathor beings through Joanna the Healer, each of the crew has gone on to develop their own personal relationship with them and have been told through channeling of the beings that we all share a connection to them and to ancient Egypt.

With that information it becomes obvious why we all felt it necessary for us to experience the exhibit showcasing the structure of King Tut’s sarcophagus and tomb, as well as all the treasures that were found inside together.

After starting her path as “healing” in Reiki as many of us do, Deanna was drawn to a chance community meet-up about Angels and Angelic Light. Once she became aware of that Angelic energy she knew that Light healing was going to be part of her path.

With this affinity toward music, sound, and vibration they have accumulated the most diverse collection of sound instruments imaginable. Drums, death whistles, signing bowls, bells…  You name it, I’m sure they have at least one.

To round out our day visit with Dawn, we each took turns donning the Isophone for a personal sound bath from Dawn.  The Isophone is essentially headphones where each earpiece has been isolated to its own tube and funnel that Dawn can play sound directly into.  This helps isolate which side of the brain is most engaged with the sound at any given time.

This was a totally unique experience for us and in this episode we share exactly what happened and have Dawn play several of her eclectic instruments for you.

Camille brought up a good point for this episode. She pondered the use of “trigger warnings”.  Living in a culture where we are all becoming more aware of our trauma’s and the points that can poke at potential trauma responses, are we doing ourselves a disservice by labeling content with a potential warning?

Or are we better off allowing those triggers to come into the light and be seen, felt and dealt with.

But what if the attachment you have goes deeper? What if that cord is connected to a soul contract? Or maybe even the cord was created when you were on a different energetic level, and now that you’ve increased your vibration that cord keeps pulling you back into a timeline that doesn’t resonate with the rest of your experience any longer?

Well, this is exactly what happened to one of the members of the podcast recently.  Chandra realized that an old attachment to a family member was keeping her stuck in old patterns and was even affecting the experiences that were manifesting in her life.

With the help of Lynn, Brenda (and Camille + the pups in the background), we held an energy session to cut that cord and collapse the timelines associated with it.  We even looked at completing and closing any soul contracts that were finished or unable to be completed in this lifetime.

That sounds like quite the lovely arrangement, doesn’t it? So, why is it that to the human condition the act of surrender can make us feel like we simply need to completely give up? What is it about “being human” that makes the need to surrender feel so alien?

Oftentimes the deeper we go into Shadow Work the louder our Ego screams. But the harder we lean into that discomfort the stronger our reliance on Source can become.

It’s almost like a “Spiritual Rick-Roll”. When you think you don’t have the capacity to surrender; to accept and integrate the parts of ourselves that we tend to deny;  the Universe just comes straight at us out of the blue in the voice of the illustrious Rick Astley🎙️

Sounds like it should be the easiest, most natural thing you’ll ever do, right? But for many of us, “tuning in” is just words. It's not a concept that we easily identify with.

What do mediums, shaman, and energy workers actually mean when they talk about “tuning in” to an energy or spirit?  Does the process look the same for everyone and what does it actually entail.

A couple of our members had visited it before and were dying to have the rest of us experience the energy of that place. The house Wright designed is built into the side of a mountain integrated perfectly with the waterfall that moves effortlessly beneath it. Boulders and rock formations from the hillside are even encapsulated into some of the walls and floors of the interior of the home. It is an amazing display of design and craftsmanship.

The energy of the continuously running water in and around the home truly amplifies every aspect of the building.

We rented an airbnb near the house in Mill Run PA. And ato paraphrase our cherished member Lynn who so eloquently put it during a lull in conversation on the tour of the Falling Water, “there are Spirits up in here.”

The house we rented was near a civil war battleground and the energy of the house and land was off the charts.

Have you ever heard of the medium’s closet or sitting in the power.  This refers to the practice of the medium sitting still and quiet (typically in a small enclosed space like a closet). From past episodes you know Melissa from Akashic records readings, her beautiful gift of Light Language, as well as her Shamanic healing practice. But did you also know she performs psychic surgeries, home clearings, and also helps souls and energies cross over to the other side?

The spiritual journey and the process of intuitive awakening is truly a miraculous one. As new senses open and grow stronger, the experiences you can have border on the positively magical.

As a group every couple of months we try to sit in Spirit Circle together to continue to increase our bond with each other and with our collective Spirit Teams and Helpers.  A few weeks ago we decided to hold one of our circles in the home of Lynn Manuel Miranda (whose house was built in 1776 and is haunted AF).  And believe me, spirit did not disappoint.

From beings coming forward prior to the circle to prepare us, to an open portal in Lynn’s attic, to out of body experiences. We ran the gamut that night.

Here even week’s later we are all still recovering, integrating, and assimilating everything we experienced that night.  A lot of healing and upgrading took place and it was pure magic.

So in this episode we want to share those experiences with you.  This is what is possible when you come together in a sacred and protected circle to petition Spirit with the unified intent of growth and healing for all involved (and the collective as well).

As most of you in our community can attest to, there has been massive change and energetic shifts especially over this last year. As a unit we’ve had some members come and go during the last few years that has accounted for some of the change, but we all feel that the entirety of our shift has been energetic. As we all shift, change, pivot our vibrations both individually and collectively do as well.

Logically we know that friends and family (the people who love us most) see us in a much different light than we see ourselves. When this topic came up in one of our Prosecco fueled podcast planning sessions, it sounded like an amazing idea for an episode.

This game is amazing for family or a group of friends that you think you “know really well”. I guarantee the questions they’ll be asked will be topics that have never come up in your conversations before.

We learned so much about each other during this little play session. Some of the answers were a little predictable, but there were others that were amazingly insightful not only for the person asking the question to learn more about their friend, but to the person answering the question as well.

We start off the conversation about what we each think happens when we die. We each have our own unique take on it. What do you think happens? Do we need to make amends of the negative things we did here on this earth? Can we decide whether we want to come back or not? Do we have a giant reunion with all of the other souls we have intertwined with through the different incarnations? We discuss the beliefs that we grew up with and how that affects us now and how we have also changed our perspective or belief system around death.

Brenda brings us back from the break with her beliefs and her experiences with her grandfather. One of the reasons she believes that we have “jobs” to do on the other side. Why there may be “schools” of learning and growth for our souls when we are in our soul essence. 

Alexandra and the woo crew discuss that we don’t have a direct fear of dying or what happens to us. I think the fear in the way we die is worse than the actual act of being out of the physical body.

Rosalie discovered that she manifested through creating. We discussed how we manifest the best when we are in a creative zone and just let the energy flow through us. Aaron loved to write as a kid and he wanted to write something when he grew up. He has written two poetry books and is currently working on his first novel. His first impactful book was The Benefits of Being a Wallflower. His other two favorites are Radical Forgiveness and A New Earth. Rosalie decided to re-title “self-help” to “self-discovery”. You heard it here first folks! If you see a member of the Woo Crew creeping around Barnes & Noble changing out the section names just look the other way. 

Brenda brings us back from our break talking about her favorite books. She has a habit of giving away her favorite books but fortunately her friends like the same books so she could bring out a couple of her favorite quotes. The author Paulo Coelho was hugely impactful for her. Two other big books were Untamed and Rise Sister Rise. Well, just read them and let them speak to you. 

We discuss how we never stop growing and learning. How we were raised to believe that we will “arrive” at some place of complete self-fulfillment. At 25 or 30 or whatever it was for you. Life is a never ending journey of learning and growing continually until the day that we go back into spirit.

Check our Brene Brown’s latest book Atlas of the Heart. Aaron shares a quote out of her book. We can only meet each other as much as we have met ourselves. We all have something to share, we all have a story, we all have an inner light that needs to shine. Brenda encourages everyone to rise up and remember who you are.

Chandra kicks off the conversation with her story. As a kids, she just knew things. She didn’t know how she knew but she just knew. This is Chandra’s primary way to receive messages, through Claircognizance. Chandra also gets messages through dreams at time. As an adult, she had experienced a death in her family and was scrolling Facebook and came upon a free 3-day class on manifestation. She then decided to take it further, and took a class on connecting with her spirit guides.

Brenda shares her experience of seeing spirit when she was a kid, she was terrified of the things she saw because she was raised believing that all things of spirit was the devil. Brenda’s journey has developed over her adulthood with energy healing and mediumship. Her primary was of receiving messages is Clairvoyance. 

Let’s chat about Spirit Circles. This is a great way to develop your intuition in a safe environment. Alexandra shared her first spirit circle with the Woo Crew. She says it is a great confirmation to share with each other in a circle when other people see the same thing. Having a woo trusted community is great for development.

Rosalie is a physical channeler. Her journey began when her children were seeing “shadow man” in their home. Her desire to help her children led her down the path of spiritual discovery. 

Alexandra shares the story behind her favorite saying, “be curious” about everything. She shares her story about asking the hard questions in Sunday School. Your faith doesn’t have to be based on what other people think. Alexandra was an empath as a child. She is an eternal student of learning more and deciding what feels right for her. 

Ally joined us for this episode. Ally has always been terrified of the dark. She would see things in her room at night. She experiences sleep paralysis and still doesn’t completely understand why she has those experiences. She is definitely an empath and clairvoyant.

Riddle us this, what do bunnies, and baby chicks, and dyeing eggs have to do with the Christian holiday of celebrating Jesus dying on a cross and raising from the dead? Easter or Eostre is the celebration of spring, of fertility, and the new life that comes. Hello, bunnies….need I say more? Dyeing the eggs pastel colors represents the soft colors of spring as the flowers bloom and the grass begins its fresh new growth from the dormant winter months. Which came first? The goddess or the Easter bunny? I am proud to report that the goddess came first! Let me jump up on my soapbox for just a minute here. Hence began the rule of patriarchy by the Christian religion. Replacing the celebration of the feminine. Trying to snuff out the power of the feminine. Okay, I’ll hop off of my box…for now.

We had a great time discussing our personal traditions or lack of traditions. Alexandra shared her tradition as a child of receiving a bathing suit for Easter. I would surmise a practical if not altogether odd gift but hey, my aunt gave me thong underwear with religious tracts for my birthday one year so I’m not judging. Aaron and Camille had haaaamm (yes, that is a multi-syllable word) for their Easter feast. Tune in to Camille to learn about the tradition of Banana Salad? Rosalie grew up Catholic and did all of the traditional Catholic mass things. Aaron reminisced on the joy of Easter morning baskets with plastic grass and a budderfanger (you will have to listen to his pronunciation to understand my misspelling). His mamma used to put together an outstanding Easter basket for them every year.

We discussed what traditions we might want to start to celebrate this time of the year. Brenda Sue is going to plant bulbs. Alexandra and her family enjoy opening all of the windows and doing spring cleaning. Rosalie and her husband enjoy planning for the summer garden and preparing the soil. 

So get out there and celebrate the coming of spring. Whether that includes going to church on Easter, planting in the ground the seeds to come to fruition in the coming months, or having fun dyeing and hiding eggs for the kids. We will be celebrating the longer daylight hours, the warming sun, and watching the earth come back to life after the cold months of winter.

Chandra kicks off story time with something that happened as we were all gathering to record. Do you ever smell something that obviously is not physically around you? Well this happened to us. We smelled a strong coffee smell and we had not just ground our coffee beans or been to the local coffee shop. We were all trying to figure out what had happened, who knows, maybe Camille picked up a stray spirit hitch hiker who appreciated her amazing Prius MPG and loved a good gas station coffee.

Brenda recounts stories from her kids younger days. We had some crazy days ya’ll. Children typically are more open to spirit, both lower vibrational and high vibrating spirit. If your child comes to you telling you that they are seeing spirit, help them. Help them understand what is happening and how to protect their energy from things that don’t feel good for them. Sometimes things are just scary because you are a kid and things are actually scary because they are low vibrational energy. It is important that you give your children the tools to feel safe and protected. “Healing my own fear of spirit in turn helped my children to be released from that fear.” Brenda

Alexandra shares her encounter with a past life through a painting. She has started seeing blue orbs lately as well. For any of you listening, seeing blue orbs is one way that know that your intuition is opening up. Are they spirits or archangels? We don’t know but it seems to be a sure fire sign that you are opening your intuition. 

The main takeaway energy is that we, as life forms, have the ability to create our own boundaries and have the experiences that we want to have in this human body. There are many tools that you can use to protect your energy. One tip is surrounding yourself in white light and seeing anything outside of you bouncing off. You can always call in the protection of Archangel Michael, your guardian angels, or whatever you view has higher source energy.

Camille shares her fascination with witchcraft since she was a little girl. She always wanted to dress up as a witch for Halloween every year. The definition of the word witch means “the wise one.” 

Alexandra shares some history behind the word. A witch is neither male or female but is typically used when referring to a female. Rosalie shares some information about reference to a witch in the Bible. Witch also means clever or “to know”, so hence fortune telling has been attached to being a witch.

Brenda asks the question, “When did being a witch become so demonized?” In the 1500’s, let’s be honest, some man came up with a word that said all witches were performing a craft to inflict harm on others. Enter the witch hunt. They lumped all witches in one big group and burned them or tried to drown them. Camille blames the patriarchy and we all concur. 

There are so many ways that we create witchcraft every day. Praying could even be seen as a type of “craft.” Asking a higher being for help with something could also be seen as a craft to manifest XYZ. 

Brenda discusses how she was given a book called The Green Witch and how this book resonated with her. She has always connected with nature and animals. For her, the forest is her church and nature her religion. She shares that growing up in a religious home she had a negative emotion connected to the word witch and it has only been recently that she identifies herself as a witch. For her this means being in touch with nature and feeling connected with the earth. 

Alexandra makes a great point that if you are a spiritual person it doesn’t mean that you must be a witch. We are simply trying to de-funk and de-bunk the stigma around the word. She shares with the group the origins of the word heathen. It was first used to identify a person who did not believe the same as another group of persons. So say, to a Catholic, anyone outside of that religion would be a heathen. 

So, how do we come together and not create separation through a “word?” The key word is “respect.” Heck, if you think about it, Jesus was a warlock. He was a healer and he turned water into wine. He multiplied food to feed his followers. Finding ways that we can agree about anything really, to view something through someone else’s eyes, we can find common ground and create community. We may not see it all in the exact same way, but lets be honest folks, the world is not black and white. It is all shades of the spectrum and that is what we are here to experience, all of the colors of the spectrum. Be open to curiosity. If this word triggers you, get curious about it. Why does it create this in your mind or body? Is it an old story? Is it a previous lifetime? Get curious friends!

Rosalie and Alexandra share how religion created their own holidays to cover up the pagan holidays. Did this trigger you? Alexandra thinks it is okay to be triggered, it helps us to notice something in ourselves that we may need to examine. Everyone is on their own timeline so give yourself and others grace in their process. Brenda asks that you try to get to the root of the trigger so you can understand yourself more. 

Alexandra: “Words are important, and also they are not.” Preach young sister. 

So, how do the crew identify themselves? Rosalie is a Bruja, Allie is straight up witch, Camille relates as a witch and is proud of it. Brenda relates as a Green Witch and Chandra relates most as a Crystal Witch. Alexandra identifies as a pagan and a witch.

Brenda, Camille and Rosalie have had the pleasure of working with Ellie and will talk about their experiences and the benefits of her programs. 

Camille starts out with a general question, “What is grief?”

Ellie “Grief is anything you wanted to be different, better, or more. Think about it, anything in your life that didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to, I wish I could have done that better. We suffer over the loss of that.”  

Some people think grief is just suffering the loss of a loved one but it is so much more. Death of a person or pet, divorce (death of a relationship) emotional loss (empty nest, retirement) loss of youth. There is much more to grief.

We discuss the symptoms of grief. Most of us are familiar with crying and depression, but there can also be anger, hostility, sleeping all the time/not sleeping, being sick all the time. Being sick is a form of avoidance so that you don’t have to deal with the situation at hand. 

Camille tells how she first met Ellie and went through her Grief Recovery Method program. She relocated from Texas to the Triad of NC. She knew she had to deal with her grief after losing several family members in close proximity. She found Ellie’s card and put it in her purse and ignored it for a while. Upon visiting a local Woo Woo shop when someone opened the door a gust of wind blew the business cards on the counter all over the floor. One landed on Camille’s foot, it was Ellie’s card! She promptly called the next day and started her grief recovery.

Guilt is commonly associated with grief. Ellie shares that the definition of guilt is harming someone on purpose. It is intentional harm. She explains that we are using inaccurate terminology. Disappointed is a better descriptor, it takes the blame away from it. 

Alexandra asks a question about “survivor's guilt”. Brenda suggests changing it to survivors grief and Elile says changing it to survivors disappointment would be most accurate. Ellie says you had nothing to do with the person’s death, it was an accident but your subconscious takes it on as real. By changing the words from guilt to disappointment it gives it a whole new meaning and energy vibration.

Brenda talks about her Grief recovery sessions with Ellie and she says she was surprised by the person she needed to work on in her recovery. She said it was a person that she really loved and admired. Since she went through the program her relationship has shifted and she is able to be more open in convastions and they have been receptive to what she had to say. It has been a healing experience for Brenda. She has more compassion for people and where they are because of their life experiences.

It was truly transformative for the ones of us who have experienced it. It is a great method to have in your tool belt to use when life sends you another disappointment. Brenda starts out the discussion about how she has been “trying dry” and how she has realized that she has been using alcohol as a coping mechanism to give her mind a break from thinking and her soul from feeling. 

Aaron asks our guests to share with us what led them to choose sobriety. Cecilia has been sober for over 500 days and she can’t imagine drinking again. Brittany shared that as a teenager she didn’t understand how being an empath affected her. Alcohol was a way for her to not have to feel her feelings and the feelings of everyone around her. Brittany is almost 6 years sober so kudos to her for that! As you will hear from the discussion they had very different reasons for becoming sober. We appreciate their honesty and vulnerability in sharing their stories with us and with all of you listening.

Aaron asks our guests what tools they use to help them deal with cravings or just in general to deal with life when things become overwhelming. Cecilia feeds herself with positive words about her will power and inner strength. She uses “growing thoughts” to keep her vibration high because she believes that any kind of substance abuse lowers your vibration. A good therapist is a life saver as well. Shout out to Ms. Wanda. She also uses a technique called “Play the Tape.” She plays out the scenario of what it would look like if she did have that drink. This helps her to let go of the desire to have a drink. She says what she is actually missing is the ritual of having the nice glass, pouring the wine, and relaxing. Aaron had an “aha” moment that we see having a glass of wine as “self-care.” Brittany says that she hangs with a very sober crowd. Her connection with nature helps to keep her balanced as well. Growing plants and bringing mostly dead plants back to life has helped her to feel connected to our beautiful Mother Earth. Praying to Mother Earth and especially the moon keeps her centered. When she needs extra help she will reach out to her sponsor or someone else in her support system. She shares that living her life sober has not been easy, she is forced to look at herself and do her own shadow work. With sobriety comes a lot of self-awareness. 

Next our guests share insight on how we can support others who are choosing a life of sobriety. Cecilia shares a funny story and wishes people would know how to react. Her pet peeve is to be introduced as the “sober friend.” She says there are so many other things that people might know about her and her sobriety isn’t on the top of the list. It is just a part of her and doesn’t define who she is. Brittany asks that people just have empathy. You don’t have to understand why someone makes the decision to be sober, just respect it and be a support to their journey. 

Brenda shares that people may feel uncomfortable with others' sobriety because they have to look at their own relationship with alcohol. 

Parting advice: Reach out on social media or AA. There is a ton of support on social media where you can share your story and create a support system. For those supporting friends with substance abuse issues know that they will not have success until they decide to do it for themselves.

Alexandra notes the saying “Blood is thicker than water” comes from a phrase in Latin that means “the blood of made friendships is thicker than the water of the womb” and Brenda agrees 150 million%.

Brenda opens the conversation about how friendships change over the years. Friendships come and go and sometimes people come in or leave depending on where you are in your spiritual journey. She said for her personally, her friendships come in little groupings: childhood, high school, her early mom days were friendless for the most part. After her divorce she had friends who were also divorced. Then she started to collect her tribe as she went along on her spiritual journey. When the pandemic started she began to lose some friends. Camille suggests that the line of connection to some people often stretch and bounce back. She goes on to say that during the pandemic it was harder to see your friends and you had to make a bigger effort to see them.

Aaron comments on something Brenda said earlier about phasing out friendships or a natural fizzing out of friendships during the pandemic. He feels that our friendship as a group solidified during the pandemic because we were taking inventory of the things that were important to us while we were at home. We had to make an effort to keep in touch with people and some friendships fell by the wayside. I only wish them love and light and success. If you have been in a relationship with someone and that friendship no longer works, it’s okay to have a friendship break up

Camille says” that is what Facebook is for, to make sure you are successful and happy.” for a chuckle.

As we close out we raise our glasses in honor of our friendship around the table and the relationships we are creating with our listeners. In classic Aaron fashion he took us out with a flourish “to our witches and warlocks at home, thank you for joining us today. We are so glad you are here. On this episode we get down to nitty gritty of the subjects that effect these girls specifically but for teens in general. Corrine feels like there is a lot of peer pressure around how you dress and what you do. Lena says she feels pressure about getting assignments completed. Lauryn says that she used to feel peer pressure about her clothes as she is finding her own sense of style.

We spoke on the awareness of bullying and how we can switch up the narrative by seeing the bully as a person who is hurting on some level. How it can be hurtful and also hard to speak up for yourself in the moment.

Mr. Luck has been teaching for 3 years now. He was not trained as a traditional teacher. He has created the cultural arts program at their school that is based on his life experience as well as prior work experience.

Lauryn feels like the biggest challenge for kids her age right now is how to interact with each other and socialize. Corrine says that social media is the biggest challenge for her personally. She feels like she wouldn’t have any friends if she didn’t have social media. Lena said that during lockdown she stopped using Snapchat and she actually lost friends because she wasn’t connecting on social media.

Mr. Jacob is happy that he has the opportunity to allow kids to have a space to explore their creative side. Mr. Jacob talks about his experiences at their age. He discusses the peer pressure that he felt from his father to be a football player but that he was also really interested in the band. The peer pressures from his middle school days was finding your clique.

The girls discuss their favorite books and why they made an impact.

Brenda asked Lena if she could do anything what would it be? She wants to travel the world and be a photographer, as a side note, don’t we all! Corrine wants to be a teacher! Her mother and grandmother both are and she wants to follow in their footsteps. She wants to help people by teaching them things. She also wants to help with the environment. Lauryn wants to do something to help the planet. Maybe a park ranger, biologist, and a writer. Mr. Jacob wanted to be a music teacher when he was their age. Then he wanted to be a culinary artist which evolved into acting, then teaching. He says when he grows up he wants to be a therapist, specifically a school counselor. Brenda wanted to be a horse jockey.

Mr. Jacob talks about the challenges of teaching during Covid restrictions. Of course we had to discuss TikTok challenges again. Hopefully that is the end of the ridiculous TikTok challenges.

Brenda asks the girls what makes them really happy. Corrine says rain, she love the smell of rain, she also loves coffee, and she loves to write poems. Lena loves hanging out with her friends because they make her laugh. Lauryn loves the rain too! She likes to do self-care when she is feeling down. Mr. Jacob says his family and his fiancé make him happy. He also loves to travel. Brenda says that hanging out with her friends makes her happy. She also loves traveling but who doesn’t?

Corrine ends the show on one of her poems: ends us on a sad note. This girl is deep. She says that no one is okay and we are reminded every day when we look in the mirror.

Alexandra shares the pagan traditions and she shows the similarity between old pagan traditions and Christian traditions such as putting a tree in your house. Putting garland also is a pagan tradition! Who knew?! Odin is also known as the Long Bearded God, perhaps that is where Santa comes from? It was also a time of fertility for women and was dedicated to women and women’s rituals. Can we all get a “down with the patriarchy” on that one! Just another example of how women’s voices have been suppressed over time. 

Brenda lived in Sweden for a couple of years and she shares Christmas traditions and how “Santa” comes on Christmas Eve and hands out the gifts to the children. 

The Crew shares their own family traditions, how Chandra and Camille like to dress up as Krampus on Christmas and scare the neighborhood children. Just kidding, they don’t actually do that but I wouldn’t put it past them.  

Rosalie share her traditions coming from New Mexico. She shares the tradition of Las Posadas. In this tradition the children act out the parts of Mary and Joseph, the community gathers and they go through the Christmas story. The tradition of Luminarias, this would have been done with stacked wood fires by their homes and these would be used to keep the community members warm as they walked around for Los Posadas. Brenda shares that Sweden has a similar tradition but using snow ball pyramids with a candle in the pyramid. Rosalie shared all of the traditional foods that had all of our mouths watering.  

Lisa shares her traditions with us. Her great grandparents came from Sicily. Christmas Eve is was a full spread of Italian food and then off to midnight Mass. On Christmas Day they would celebrate the “American” way. Lisa is hosting her family this year and she is going full blown Italian with her cuisine. She is in the middle of writing a book about her “Big Crazy Italian Family” and it is making her really want to relive the past.  

Chandra shares that she and her husband like to get up and make a big southern breakfast and then open presents together.  

Alexandra shares her family tradition of getting up for coffee and hot chocolate and then opening presents together. They always go to the movies together as a family on Christmas day. They also celebrate “Boxing Day” with friends to share the holidays with their created family. 

Aaron has a pressing question for the viewers. “What in the heck is fruitcake weather?” Camille thinks it is a doorstop. Brenda and Ro love fruitcake. We are a table divided by fruitcake! Feel free to weigh in on your thoughts about this seasonal delight. Is it a love/love, hate/hate, or hate to love kind of situation?

Aaron discusses his childhood traditions as well as his current traditions for him and his husband. Since they are both teachers they like to celebrate on the first day that they are free from school by opening presents with their 3 dogs. We also celebrate Aaron’s birthday!

Aaron is joined by Mr. Jacobs another teacher, along with some of their students. Being a teenager has always been a time of highs and lows. Today’s kids are dealing with the challenges of an always “on” world and a pandemic.

The crew is checking into see how they are really doing.

Here’s what they shared about themselves. Lauren loves to read, Lena enjoys watching movies, Corine likes to be the center of attention.

Tik Tok was the first topic of discussion. The popular social media site has started a “wave” of pranks. Essentially students are sharing videos of themselves vandalizing their school by taking the soap dispenser in the school restroom.

What would you tell your fifth-grade self?

The kids are finishing up 8th grade and going to high school next year. They have some sound wisdom and suggestions that apply to lots of situations.

Mr. Jacobs is the cool teacher! He shares that it’s okay to not know who you are and give yourself time to grow into the person you want to be. Aaron shares how this happened for him as well.

Brenda asks how the girls deal with and manage stress. Again, they share insightful responses. Clearly these kids know a thing or two about staying in the moment.

That opened up a conversation about self-expression. Mr. Jacobs talked about allowing his students the opportunity to express themselves and have conversations. Aaron also talked about how the need for community is a bigger than ever after all the COVID restrictions.

He also explained that he wants his class to be a safe space. He provides a way for students to write about what’s on their mind in a safe, confidential way. Camille shares how she found herself asking big life questions a few years ago. She’s a fan of astrology and the spirit world and is up for conversations about all of it.

Aaron the empath is the only guy lucky enough to be on the show. He’s always known he was intuitive. As a young kid, he was labeled sensitive and tried to downplay it but no more! He’s a teacher and his peers call him the “counselor” because kids come to him with their issues, recognizing that he’s there to help.

At age 7 Alexandra realized that traditional religion didn’t fit her. She calls the group her soul tribe. She’s no longer on the path alone and is learning all she can about tarot, crystals and of course, tapping into her intuition.
