Hello everybody and welcome back to the Lion Of Vienna Suite podcast!

I hope you all had a great Easter and I can imagine it was greatly improved by Bolton's best performance over the Bank Holiday for almost half a century.

Wanderers beat Doncaster Rovers 2-1 away from home and returned to the Reebok to defeat Accrington Stanley 3-1 on Easter Monday and I am joined by James and Chris to dissect the good, the bad, and (certainly in the case of the Stanley game) the ugly from both matches.

Even though the season is winding down to a mid-table finish for Bolton, it is great to see the boys still scrapping for points and our form can be taken as a very good omen for the 2022/23 League One season.

It's been a hell of a long time since we recorded (Antoni Sarcevic had only just left the club, for context) but we are back and raring to go as the 2021/22 season enters it's final knockings.

As we recorded, Bolton had just drawn 1-1 away to rivals (in their minds at least) Wigan Athletic and the boys get stuck in to analyze the key talking points.

We also take a look towards the future, discussing the areas in which Bolton need to improve for next season and our potential opponents in League 1 in 2022/23 once the dust has settled in the various promotion/relegation battles.

The Wanderers somehow conspired to lose at home to Swindon Town, to a last minute winner, after David Wheater and scored a peach of a volley to put them up. The trio discussed the game and what it means for our automatic promotion chances. Episode 69 then saw the lads discuss the currently happening or already concluded FA Cup replay with Crystal Palace, where the squad needs reinforcements and that debate about Adam Le Fondre came up once again. With Bolton Wanderers now actually being good and not in terrifying peril, it turns out that there isn't actually an awful lot to talk about on a Bolton Wanderers podcast, so that's why these little beauties have been so few and far between this year. Or at least that's our excuse. But absence makes the heart grown fonder ladies and gentlemen and I have no doubt that you're going to love episode 67 of the Lion of Vienna Suite Podcast. On this week's (month's) show, regulars Dan and Chris are joined by debutant Jimmy Donnelly, of Trotters Blog, and very special guest Marc Iles, of the Bolton News, who stepped in at the last minute to offer some expert opinion. This is a weird thing, we've got another happy podcast for you all. In fact, it's the second positive show in a row! Who'd have thought. So join Dan, Tom Wilson and DowntheMannyRD Tom as they discuss all the good Bolton Wanderers stuff that has happened in the time since episode 65. For starters, the Whites have only gone and won two away games in a row, all the while scoring two goals in each and not conceding a single, solitarily one. Actually, Bolton have now gone six games without conceding and have won their last five on the bounce. First up was a victory at the Den, as two cracking goals from Sammy Ameobi and David Wheater saw off Millwall. That was followed by an ultimate shit housing performance by beating local minnows Bury via two dubious penalties, both of which were won and dispatched by Zach Clough. The two games, impressive performers were debated, and also the fact that we missed out on Peter Odemwingie.

The last couple of episodes of the Lion of Vienna Suite Podcast were all positive and happy, so much so that some were bemoaning the lack of stuff to talk about. Well, in the few weeks since the last LOVpod, Bolton Wanderers have duly obliged in giving the lads a deluge of depressing stuff to talk about once again. Dan is joined by Chris, Liam and debutant Joe Norris as they talk about all the Wanderers happenings in the last week. First up, with no win in eight and no goals in four, it's all gone to shit for Bolton in League One, and the lads discuss what's been going wrong in recent weeks and what Phil Parkinson can do to stop the rot and turn our fortunes around again. Then the Supporters' Trust was discussed, a few days after they held their AGM meeting. We shared our favourite Ivan Klasnic memories after the tragic news that broke about him this week. The lads bemoaned and debated Big Sam Allardyce's plight as England manager and then discussed where Bolton would finish this season.

This week, on episode 63 of the Lion of Vienna Suite podcast, Dan is joined by Chris, Jonny and Tom Wilson as they laugh at CM Punk, Disect yet another Bolton Wanderers draw and look ahead to next weeks match. Once the plesantries, the jokes about CM Punk's embaressig UFC debut and awful analysis of Brook v Golovkin were out of the way, the quartet got stuck into the Wanderers chatter. The Whites drew 1-1 for the third week on the bounce on Saturday, this time at home to MK Dons, and the lads discusses if the three game streak without a win is a cause for concern, despite still being top of the league. Then each Bolton player was analysed in-depth, with Mark Howard, Jay Spearing and Mark Beevers receiving tones of praise, where as the likes of Lewis Buxton, Jamie Proctor, Josh Vela and Liam Trotter weren't so luck. Kevin Davies' less than savoury comments on Dougie Freedman were then discusses, which went to some rather strange places. All that before the group look ahead to Saturday's tie with Walsall, and debate as to who should take the suspended Spearing's place.

Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 62

After the madness of last week's episode, as Bolton Wanderers managed to sign five players on deadline day, the Lion of Vienna Suite Podcast returns to a relative level of normalcy this week. Dan is joined by DowntheMannyRd Tom and the returning Chris to talk all things Wanderers this week and even touch on Big Sam Allardyce's first match in charge of the England international team. The lads, all of which attended Saturday's stalemate with Southend United, discussed the game in great depth. Discussing the system that Parkinson is implementing, the stylish pass and move football they played, the diamond formation and how, even though we should have won the game, they didn't come away from the Macron Stadium on Saturday disappointed. The trio then discussed the performances of every player and they were all very impressed with new boys James Henry, Keshi Anderson and Sammy Ameobi. Not forgetting the brilliant Jay Spearing and Mark Beevers. Dean Moxey, not so much. Before closing the group talked about how great it is seeing Big Sam win his first game as England boss and what they want to see from him in the future.

Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 61- Deadline Day Drama

Despite Dan calling it episode 60 for the entire pod, this week's episode of the Lion of Vienna Suite Podcast is actually episode 61, and it's brimming with deadline day drama. Dan was joined by Rob, Alistair and DowntheMannyRd Tom and they recorded the podcast during the final hours of deadline day, just as Bolton Wanderers were making all of their FIVE new signings. So you can hear their live reactions and discussions on Kaiyne Woolery (sad face), Conor Wilkinson (GET IN!) and Tom Walker all leaving the club, as they left for Wigan Athletic permanently, Chesterfield on loan and Bury on loan respectively. Then their jubilation and delight as the Whites brought in Keshi Anderson, Ben Alnwick, Sami Ameobi, James Henry and finally Tom Thrope. Alnwick joins on a two-year deal from Peterborough United, Henry and Ameobi on loan until January from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United, respectively. Then Anderson and Thrope both join on year long loan deals from Crystal Palace and Rotherham United, again, respectively. Amongst all the pandemonium the lads forgot to talk about Gary Madine's rumoured move away and this Saturday's game against Southend United, but they did manage to discuss Saturday's 1-1 draw with Charlton Athletic and Mark Davies' season ending injury.

The Lion of Vienna Suite Podcast returns this week with episode 60 and, spoilers, there's yet another Bolton Wanderers victory to discuss. After briefly talking about Summer Slam, the lads dive into the Whites' latest victory, a 2-1 home win against Fleetwood Town with goals from Gary Madine and Josh Vela. The two Toms were in attendance so they give quality insight into how the game went and which players performed well, and which didn't. After that the trio discussed the possibility of any of Jay Spearing, Josh Vela, Kaiyne Woolery or Dorian Dervite (we can only hope) leaving before the transfer window shuts, and which positions Wanderers still need reinforcements in. I'm sure we can all guess which. Finally the lads briefly preview the Trotters' weekend away trip to Charlton Athletic and next week's pathetic EFL Trophy match against Everton's reserves.

Sorry it's been so long, we've had lives to live and, surprisingly, there's not actually been that much to talk about of late about Bolton Wanderers. So Dan is joined by Liam and Tom to discuss the games over the three weeks and everything else in between. The lads touch on the late debates to Middlesbrough and Cardiff City, and the extremely dull draw with Charlton Athletic, but they focus on the Whites actually winning a game, as they beat 4th placed Hull City 1-0, courtesy of Stephen Dobbie. As well as discussing the steady improvements, the lads also discuss which players have been impressive over the last four weeks, which spirals into a deep debate on playing youngsters. Then the current managerial 'farce' is discussed, with everyone ruling themselves out of the job at Bolton, who will actually get it? The trio discuss the possibilities of Phillips/Nolan/Reid, Gary Bowyer and Jon Sheridan. Then comes a quick preview of our last game of the season, away at Fulham. After taking a break during the Easter weekend/international break, the Lion of Vienna Suite podcast is back with episode 52 as Dan and Tom record a two-man show at 9 in the morning. It's a landmark day for Lion of Vienna Suite as the #LOVpod has reached the 50th episode mark, a feet that only 5% of podcasts ever make it to. To celebrate such a special occasion the wonderful Marc Iles joins the regular cast of Chris, Dan, Jonny and Tom, for a fascinating couple of hours of Bolton Wanderers chat. First up, with the club FINALLY being sold on the Thursday prior, the long, stressful four months was discusses and what it's been like to be supporters and reporters during such a turbulent time. With just one pod until the 50th show extravaganza, Jonny makes his debut as #LOVpod host and does a fantastic job after overcoming some early technical difficulties, courtesy of Rob. They're joined by Tom 1 (Tom Molloy) and Tom 2 (Tom Wilson) and surprisingly only one moment of Tom-related confusion arises. The first rather short section (as none of us went to the game) is dominated by discussion of the Leeds United match. The main talking points are about Lennon's post-match comments about Wellington Silva and Kaiyne Woolery. Also the lads touch, once again, on the fact that Bolton Wanderers have gone almost a year without winning away. Talk moves onto the High Court case and the impending takeover, which will hopefully be announced by the time this podcast is released so we can all finally stop talking about it. The third segment is dedicated to the Ipswich Town match. The lads talk about whether we deserved to win the game, Zach Clough's dip in form, Rob Holding's excellence and Stephen Dobbie (obviously). A short Preston preview follows with the lads picking their ideal lineups and giving their score predictions. New Bolton Wanderers Owner Dean Holdsworth Speaks to Lion of Vienna Suite

Today has been an historic day for Bolton Wanderers. With ups, downs, laughter, anger, hope, dismay and the constant refreshing of Twitter - and that was all within an hour or so. There are plenty of negatives to be discussed and they all will be in due course but, for now, it's time to concentrate on the positives and the future. A deal for owner Eddie Davies to sell the club to Sports Sheild has finally been agreed and, providing all goes well with the Football League, we will finally have a new owner in place and a potential end to these last few months of madness. It's been a long time coming but now the end might actually, finally be in sight. One man who has been at the epicentre of all this is the new owner of the club, former striker, Dean Holdsworth. We here at Lion of Vienna Suite sat down to talk to Dean, posing some of our own but mostly yours, the fans, questions to the new owner of Bolton Wanderers football club. This weeks episode of the #LOVpod, even for our own mid-to-high standards, is quite a brilliant one, with passion and laughter at Bolton Wanderers ever worsening predicament in abundance. Chris was joined by the returning Dan and Liam, this week. First up was a discussion about actual football, as Wanderers let a priceless 1-0 victor over Queens Park Rangers slip in the dying moments as a monumental cock up from Ben Amos allowed Matt Phillips to equalise. This after a resolute and combative performance from the likes of Rob Holding, Jay Spearing and Darren Pratley, not to mention a wonder goal from Zach Clough. The heartbreaking result leaves us still at the foot of the table, with relation becoming more and more like a certainty. Afterwards the lads tried to tackle the concept of the Whites going out of business as the club are in court later today, and how Wanderers fans have been massively let down by those running the club - especially Eddie Davies. Passionate, tear jerking speeches were aplenty. Then Arsenal's Jack Wilshere was discussed after his recent comments about his loan spell at the Reebok Stadium. Finally, the upcoming fixtures against Birmingham City and Burnely were both previewed, with the feelings being unanimously negative, and then things were brought to a close with possibly the best fan question ever to be on the show: if you were Eddie Davies, what would you demand from the club? The boys then move on to look at Bolton Wanderers' 3-2 defeat to Brighton at the weekend, taking a look at who played well, who disappointed and sharing their thoughts on Mark Davies' form, or lack of it. We then have a special mass debate on Liam Feeney, focused on whether Bolton's winger is a good footballer or not. Which went on far longer than it should have. The lads then look ahead to this weekend's clash with Queens Park Rangers, before discussing this week's Twitter question - will Bolton collect six points from their home games with QPR and Burnley?

After missing a week due to various reasons the lads are back to bring you a fairly positive dose of Bolton Wanderersdebate. Chris returns as host and is joined by Dan, Liam and Downthemannyrd Tom. First port of call is a lengthy analysis and discussion of Bolton's three moth recent matches. The 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Leeds United is quickly brushed aside so the lads can talk about all the good stuff. A spirited 2-2 fight back away at Wolverhampton Wanderers and then Saturday's last gasp, priceless, scrapy victory over fellow relegation fodder Rotherham United. A round up of all the many happenings at Wanderers in the last two weeks was then called for, with the likes of Rodger Tamraz, the Supporters' Trust, car park sales, departures of Prince, Francesco Pisano and Jose Manuel Casado all being discussed. And then everyone shared their favourite memories of the maverick that is Stuart Holden, who retired during the week. Last up was a preview of Saturday's trip to promotion chasing Brighton and a return of the question of the week as we asked 'can Bolton stay up?'

The LOVpod is kinda back, as this weeks episode actually only contains two people, but it's still as good as ever. So join host Dan and DowntheMannyRD Tom as they delve into some Bolton Wanderers chat. The first segment is actually like positive for the first time in what seems like forever as the pair discusses not one, BUT TWO, Wanderers win during the week. The 3-2 victory over Eastleigh that saw the Whites proceed to the 4th round of the FA Cup and then the 3-1 dismantling of the atrocious MK Dons in a must win game. The lads talk about the positive performers, with the likes of Liam Trotter, Rob Holding, Wellington Silva and Darren Pratley, and also ponder if this could be the start of an escape bid from Bolton. In the second segment the fellas discuss the weeks happenings at the Macron, with Wanderers going from staff not being paid to the court granting a validation order and the sale of the car park within days. The potential departures of Liam Feeney, Pratley and youngster Alex Samidazeh are also debated. As well as the state of limbo that Shola Ameobi finds himself in. Things are then brought to a close with a quick discussion on Saturday's FA Cup 4th round tie with Leeds United, all before the show ends with a brilliant (potentially very shit) surprise. Enjoy!

Up next the first of (almost definitely) many departures from this club was discussed, as Lawrie Wilson left to join Peterborough United on loan for a month - something Tom was not happy about in the slightest. Following up on last weeks hilarities was always going to be a big challenge, and the LOVpod fellas certainly gave it their best shot on this weeks episode. With Chris unable to join, hosting responsibilities were left to Dan as Jonny and, the teeth brushing saint himself, DownTheMannyRd Tom, returned once again. The show kicked off with chat about Bolton Wanderers 1-1 draw with Brentford in front of the Sky cameras on Monday night. Every detail of the match was analysed from Neil Danns' shanked equaliser, to Max Clayton's injury. From Gary Madine calling Neil Lennon a prick to, Ben Amos' heroics in net. The lads discussed who they thought played well and who they thought didn't (spoilers, Dorian Dervite) and the Whites' surprisingly good perfjoamcne in general. Next up things got depressing as the trio talked about Wanderers further financial flight, as it was revealed that the Bolton senior players hadn't been paid for November. Hard hitting questions like 'will we still be here in 12 months time?' and 'who would you support if Bolton ceased to exist' were soberly debated. After that Tom took the reigns of the show as he introduced his own brand new feature. In order to familiarise us with our new home next season, he held a "League One Quiz" in which Dan and Jonny had to compete against each other in. With one of them clawing back victory from the jaws of defeat. A quick preview of the weekend's Cardiff City game followed, and then things were brought to a close with the question of the week, which asked you to describe Bolton using a film title. Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 37

In this weeks episode of the Lion of Vienna Suite podcast, in which is perhaps the weirdest episode yet, there are popular culture references and digressions on pasty shops a plenty, as Chris is joined by resurrected tech wiz Dan, the ever cheery DownTheMannyRD Tom and, of course, Jonny. They're even accompanied by the return of the famed LOVpod music. A relief to all ears, I'm sure. Things got underway with a big discussion on the breaking news of Eddie Davies announcing that he will wipe ALL the debt that is owed to him by Bolton Wanderers. The lads even afforded them selves a moment of optimism as they discussed just how massive that was the for the Whites. Over news of the week like the massive story of Stelios wanting to buy the club, Amir Kahn getting involved, the loan move Rajiv van La Parra falling through and the apparent signing of Torquay goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe were all also discussed. The positivity had to end somewhere and it duly did when the conversation turned to Wanderers' on field antics, the group discusses in all it's shitty glory the 2-1 defeat to Reading on the weekend and the atrocious defending that accompanied it. The third and final part of the show saw the crew look forward to next weeks game against Brentford, infant of the Sky camera on Monday night. They discussed who they'd like to see in the team and how many goals we're going to lose by before going into the Twitter question of the week, which simply asked where do you see the Whites in 12 months time. It all went off the rails after that as it transpired that Tom was brushing his teeth whilst on air and then a whole manner of dirty jokes were made - it really was podcasting gold, so don't miss out! Talking Trotters - Episode 1

After a successful Pilot Episode that received plenty of positive feedback, we're delighted to bring you Episode 1 of Talking Trotters. A weekly bulletin, full of news, opinion, and razor sharp whit. In today's opener we cover the Middlesbrough game with special guest Joe Nicholson, and then we find comfort in each other's arms after the turgid affair that was the MK Dons game. Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 23

Sir Chris Manning returns as host this week, and he is joined by Dan, Tom and Elliot as they discuss what has been a rather depressing week in the world of Bolton Wanderers. First port of call was to briefly discuss the Whites slumping out of the Captial One Cup to Burton Albion, although there was much sadder stuff to come. Next up in segment one, the dissection of our embarrassing defeat to Middlesbroughwas talked about in great detail. In segment two it was the thing you've all been waiting for. Tim Ream is leaving for Fulham, and a certain member of the podcast isn't taking it well. He expressed his deep sadness in a rather beautiful, unexpected way. The rest of the lads spoke a lot of sense with their feelings of the move. Then the players coming in on the Ream money were discussed, as the group detailed their excitement at the potential of Francesco Pisano and Arsenal's Wellington Silva. The past of new trialist, Courtney Meppem-Walter, was debated over and the segment concluded with a discussion on the progress of youngster Jamie Thomas. Segment three was a brief affair, as the group basically shouted profanaties at Dougie Freedman whilst pretending to preview Saturday's clash with Nottingham Forest. Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 22

Football isn't the only thing to be back this week, as Dan finally returns from his tour of the French Riveria, and in the absense of Chris, he hosts the pod on his return. Joining him for Episode 22 is stand in tech wizard Rob and Tom of the DownTheMannyRd variety, as it now appears that we've got 24 Toms on staff. The show got underway with a comprehensive review of Bolton Wanderers' Championship curtain raiser with Derby County. The lads discussed the match in great detail discussing everything from Jay Spearing's red card, to Zach Clough's nulification. From the great debuts of Madine, Prince and Wilson, to the seeming redemptions of Dorian Dervite and Dean Moxey. Not to mention Emile Heskey and the impact he made. Next up saw the cast preview two games, as the football is already coming thick and fast. First of all, with Burton Albion in the Capital One Cup coming up on Tuesday, the players they'd lack to see start the game were dicussed. Then, with the Whites having to travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday, debates over the tactics Lennon should deploy were had. In the final segment of the show, Guess Who? return with a rather funny coincidence and the Question of the Week was discussed, as it asked about who our centre back pairing should be. With lots of other tidbits in between, it's another great show from the LOVpod boys.

It's a pre-season extravaganza, it's a bumper five-man show, it's the return of special guest, Bolton News chief football writer, Mr. Marc Iles. And it's bloody long, but also bloody fantatsic. It's so long in fact, that we've had to split the show into two parts, the first of which is available for listening now, with the scond coming on Wednesday. Host Chris is joined by Marc, stand in Tech Wizard Rob, the maverick Liam O'Meara and, making his debut, U21 correspondent Tom Molloy. The first lengthy segment of Part I was discussing everything of note from the last two friendlies of pre-season, against Port Vale and Charlton Athletic. Talk of Gary Madine, Filip Twardzik, Derik Osede, Tim Ream, Andy Kellett, Josh Vela, Zach Clough and many more was in abundance. Next up was a round up of all the news that's occured over the past week. Starting witht the soon to be announced triple signing of Lawrie Wilson, Stephen Dobbie and Emile Heskey. Next up was the potential signing of Italian right back Francesco Pisano, acompanied by the denial of any interest in fellow contryman Massimo Coda. After a rather conspicuous abscene, the #LOVpod is finally back, well at least some of it. Yes, unfortunatley, one of the participants in this weeks episode kind of disapears after an twenty minutes, as his recording cut out. Talking Trotters - Pilot

We here at Lion of Vienna Suite are always on the look out for fellow Bolton Wanderers fans to come to us with their own ideas and inspirational creations, usually in the form of writing, but now in a whole new direction too. You may have, or at least I hope you did, notice that there was no #LOVpod in the last week. Yes, for the first time since we started the endeavour - over four months a go now - we ended up missing a week, mainly due to me jetting off abroad again and other people just not managing to find the time. Well, someone did notice, a gentleman by the name of Alastair Sledge. Completely off his own accord, he sent us a short 13 minute "filler episode of the LOVpod; just him on his own, talking about the events in the last week. I absolutely loved it. Because it was obviously a lot more scripted, it felt like something different to the #LOVpod. It felt sharp, well written and concise. Due to timings and other such issues, you'll never hear the original recording Alastair sent me. But since I loved it so much we've offered Alastair the chance to do his own weekly show: "Talking Trotters - A BWFC Bulletin". Short, weekly round ups of everything that's happened in the world of Wanderers, and the wider footballing landscape, that week. So with out further ado, here's the pilot. Hope you enjoy. Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 19

The LOVpod is finally back, sorry for the delay! On this wee's packed episode Chris returns after his absense last week, and he's along side Dan, fresh of his first lad's holiday, and Tom, as they discuss a whole matter of things. First up was some brief chat on the subject of lad's holidays, the small matter of Leicester City hiring a manager that isn't Neil Lennon, Man United's transfer activities and new kit news! Some proper Bolton Wanderers chat was up next, as the lads delved into pre-season talk and discussed Bolton's two friendly defeats against Sturm Graz and Paderborn, and whether we can really take anything away from them at this early stage. After that the transfer section, which has finally been pushed from the begining of the pod to somewhere near the back, made an apperane, as the likes of Derik, Jordan Lussey, Jon Ceberio, Alex Baptiste, Conor Wilkinson, Craig Davies, Sanmi Odelusi and Eidur Gudjohnsen were all debated over at length. Finally, things were brought to a close with another returning favourite, this time guess who as Tom brought his own excellent clues to the table and then the question of the week. Enjoy!

Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 18

This week's episode of the Lion of Vienna podcast was quite an awkward affair, with four segments recroded over three days, one of which this week's host, Dan Murphy, was steaming drunk on. Which you may find annoying or hummourous depending on your taste. Dan was joined at various points by Elliot, Rob and Arran Clements as they dicussed a wide range of things. First of all was a brief chat on the return of football, as a Bolton Wanderers XI traveled to Dan's home town of Atherton to face Atherton Collieries. Next up discussion on all the going ons at the Macron this week, including chat on Ben Amos, Gary Madine and Darren Pratley all signing with the Wanderers, Wilson Palacios and Stephen Dobbie coming in on trial, the signing of Derik Osede, dreams of Kevin Nolan returning, and the saddening departure of Eidur Gudjohnsen. The second segment was a chat about how to improve the atmosohere at the Macron next season, as the lads went for a meating with the club on how to improve it. Then they discussed the possibility of Neil Lennon leaving the club to go and manage his old side, Leicester City, which led nicely on to the question of the week which was discussing who Lennon's replacement could be.

Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 17

We're back once again with the latest episode of the #LOVpod, and this week is a packed affair with lots to talk about. Chris, Dan and Liam began the pod with the traditional news segment of the pod, kicking off with the startling revelation that Bolton Wanderers may be signing David Dunn. The lads then discussed the other rumoured incoming over the past week including Ryan Taylor, James Forrest and Wilson Palacios, that was before they then casted their eyes on the potential outgoings of Conor Wilkinson, Sanmi Odelusi, Rob Hall and others from the Macron Stadium. The segment was then brought to a close by discussing the returning Baptiste, Spearing and Medo, and also chatting about Tim Ream's call up to the USA's Gold Cup sqaud. Next up, it was time to discuss the new BWFC home kit that has been quite a contentious issue on the internet, and the results are surprisingly positive. Liam then listened on in bemusement as Dan and Chris spent a good ten minutes discussing squad numbers for the coming season. Afterwards, Chris tried his hand at being the Guess Who clue master, which... went well. Before the pod was brought to a close discussing this weeks Twitter question: who are our biggest rivals? Due to there being not much to talk about in regards to Bolton Wanderers of late, this weeks #LOVpod is actually the shortest we've ever done. But don't let that deter you, as the lads still squeze in some great Wanderers discussion. Regulars Chris, Dan and Tom are this week joined by a new debutant, a recent addtion to the LoVS writing team and the wonderfully named - Eddie Skelly. As ever, the pod is kicked off with a rumour round up, as they group discusses the strenuous links with DeAndre Yedlin and the more realistic chasing of a second Sheffield Wednesday forward, this time Chris Maguire. Familiar names Sergi Enrich and Nick Kuipers also found them selves back amongst the gossip. Next up, with rumous about who our new kit sponsor is to be and with the reveal of the new home shirt due this week, the lads shared their personal favourite and worst Bolton kits from the years. Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 15

Back on time and back on form, yep, the #LOVpod managed to be completed all in one night this week, and there wasn't one serious technical mishap to be seen. Such bliss. On this weeks show was the regulars Dan and Chris, the returning Rob, and special guest, Mark Yesilevskiy, co-founder of the Lion of Vienna Suite, making his pod debut. The show once again kicked off with a good old news round up. Whilst there wasn't much to talk about in terms of Bolton signing players, apart from the new rumour that we're apparently trying to bring Leicester City centre back, Liam Moore in on loan. However, there was still plenty of news to be had. Adam Bogdan's move to Liverpool was finally confirmed, and his replacement in Ben Amos is said to be completed, but just needs to be confirmed. Darren Pratley deciding to sign a new deal instead of leaving was discussed, before a brief talk on our reaction to long time Bolton target, Craig Morgan, opting to sign for Wigan. In segment two, the lads discussed, with the fixtures to be announced in the coming week, who they'd like to face on the opening and closing days of the season. Then they moved swiftly on to Guess Who, which was over far too quickly for Dan's liking. Next up, the news that Wanderers will be lowering the academy's status, from Category One to Category Two, was discussed in depth, with each cast member giving their opinions. The Twitter question of the week was also on this topic too, and we got a lot of contrasting arguments. The show finished off by taking full advantage of Mark's American expertise, as he offered some insight onto the future of Stuart Holden and the chances of Tim Ream making the USMNT squad for the Gold Cup.

Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 14

In a recording that was ravaged and plauged by technical difficulties, horrendous internet conncections, crying children and barking dogs, the lads have somehow managed to ranshackle together a half coherent #LOVpod, just for you. Before the custom transfer round up began, the reacurring trio of Chris, Dan and Tom briefly discussed the Champions League and just how remarkable Barcelona and Lionel Messi are. Then came debate surrounding the players who've been linked with Bolton Wanderers in the last week: Alfred Finnbogason, Wilson Palacios, Richie Towell and Daryl Hogan, before ranting about Liverpool fans' reaction to the news that they're signing Adam Bogdan. The next segment saw Dan and Tom share their all time Wanderers XI's, with one being considerably worse than the other and thus getting swiftly torn apart. No spoilers as to who that was *cough* Dan *cough*. Then the lads quickly gave their views on the much debate Rooney Rule. After that the podcast was brought to an end with the second round of Guess Who, which turned out to be a bit more testing this week, and then reading out the answers from the Twitter Question, which was in regards to strange transfer rumours. Lion of Vienna Suite - LOVpod Episode 13

We're back again for this the 13th episode of the #LOVpod and it's yet another one where we try something completely new. First of all, the usual hosts of Chris and Dan are this week joined by special guest Tom, or @downthemannyrd, a regular listener/reader of Lion of Vienna who we invited to join us. It's the first of hopefully many guest apperances from you guys. Conversation got underway with the reaccuring rumour round up, as potential transfers for Norwich City's Garry Hooper and recently released Nantes winger, Vincent Bessat were discussed. Along with the rumous that Darren Pratley is departing to Ipswich Town and the goalkeeping situation which is yet to be settled. Chat moved swiftly on to next season, and the lads discussed what would be succses for them in the coming campaign, Bolton being relegation favouites according to SkyBet and who else we think will struggle in the Championship next year. Another innovation followed, as a brand new feature to the podcast appeared, as the lads contested in a friendly game of guess who before finishing off by discussing the Twitter question of the week, which was in regards to pre-match music. Coming to you slightly later this week due to the Bank Holiday, it's the 12th episode of the Lion of Vienna Podcast. We've been going three months now! Who'd have thought we'd ever make it this far? So thank you all for your continuedlistenership and support. With all the football gradually coming to a stop, there's isn't much to talk about this week, but the lads still managed to squeeze over an hours worth of Bolton Wanderers chat out, for your amusement. Chris was joined once again by Dan and Liam on a rare three man pod, and proceedings got underway with a round up of all the latest rumours. The seemingly completed capture of Gary Madine, the continued link with Craig Morgan which was only intensified this week as he left Rotherham and the gossip of the Whites being linked with a Barnsley play maker. Discussion also briefly turned to our own contract issues, as Gudjohnsen, Pratley and Bogdan are all yet to sign new deals. The second segment of the show saw the lads discuss how we feel our released players are going to do and where they may end up, with tangents a plenty as stuff like the Play-Off final and number one transfer targets were debated. Following that, the conversation turned to the recently announced pre-season schedule, before concluding things with the traditional Twitter question of the week. Lion of Vienna Suite LOVpod - Episode 11

It's a return to normality for the lads on the LOVpod this week, as no star studied guest will be joining us this week. But never fear as the lovely Rob Latham and the horrible Tim Ream hater, Liam O'Meara, return to the fold to join the remainging duo of Chris and Dan. I'm sure you'll be thrilled to know that the running time is quite a bit less than last weeks too. This week on the show the crew get things underway by discussing the receently released Bolton Wanderers retained list, and sharing how we al reacted to the news that thirteen players will be leaving the club for defineite this summer. Then the conversation moved onto the players that reamin at the Macron Stadium, those four who are in flux and still locked in talks with the club, and the youngsters which have all penned their first professional deals. The third segment was what you've all been waiting for, as the winners of the LOVawards were finally announced, as the lads were joined by a plethora of well known stars for the prestigous events. Surprises and laughs were a plenty. Finally, the Twitter question of the week made a welcome return to the Pod, as we sought your answers to the slightly contentious question: Championship or Premier League, which do you prefer? LOVpod - Episode 10 with Marc Iles

This weeks LOVpod is the longest we've ever done by quite a long way, and that's for very good reason, as we had the pleasure to be joined by the Bolton News chief football writer, and the very highly respected, Marc Iles. Coupled with the very much welcomed return of Chris to the hosting seat, this weeks pod is a must listen for any Bolton Wanderers supporter. Things get underway with Chris and Marc discussing the previous season in intricate detail, from Dougie Freedman's failure to the positivity that Neil Lennon brought with him, and eveything inbetween. Next Chris posed the questions gathered from you, the lovely listeners, which led to some really interesting discussion on a wide variety of topics. After that Dan and Lee stormed into the proceedings for segment three, as all four of the lads went through their personal goal, match, moment, young play and player of the season. The fan results from the polls (which you can still vote on on lionofviennasuite.com) will be announced in the #LOVawards show next week. In the following segement the group discusses their hopes for next season, what Neil Lennon has to do in the summer for next year to be a succsess, and some potential signings. And finally, they came to the end of the elongated, but I'm sure you can understand why, LOVpod and the writers of LoVS asked their own questions to Marc, again resulting in some very enlightening answers. With Lord Manning away basking in the Florida sunshine, Dan takes over hosting responsibilities for the eighth episode of the LOVpod, and you can almost pinpoint the exact moment in which he buckles under the pressure of carrying such a prestigious mantle. He's joined by two lovely chaps in the shape of Lee Tennant and Rob Latham as they discuss a deluge of topics.
