Bumin's Destiny – Reunion Final Trailer: A Göktürk Movie

Long ago, the wolf's howl echoed across the steppe, calling the sons of Gök Tengri, the Sky's ruler. But eventually, the howl faded. Names disappeared, mountains got new titles, and elders were silenced. For generations, the Ashina Turks bowed under foreign rulers who dismissed them and deceived their children.

Emerging from this long silence is a reckoning.

Set in the mid-6th century, 'Bumin’s Destiny' chronicles the Ashina clan's journey from myth to history, from the Asena legend and the wolf-blood lineage, through exile and ironworking in the Altai Mountains under the Rouran Empire's shadow, to Bumin’s pivotal rebellion that sparks the Göktürk Khaganate. Between iron and fire, a forgotten Turkic people moves toward a destined reunion.

The Solitary Mongol: Morin Khuur Solo in Medieval Steppe Music

Following the Mongol conquests, a former warrior of the Mongol Empire roams the unfamiliar Ponto-Caspian steppe alone. Stripped of his comrades, his only companion was his horse, which fell ill and passed away. In an act of ingenuity and tradition, he crafted strings from his horse's hair for a new Morin Khuur, an ancient Mongolian instrument. He plays it in hopes that his people will hear his lament and rescue him.

This song showcases a Morin Khuur solo, a horsehead fiddle similar to instruments like the Tuvan igil, Kazakh kobyz, and Kyrgyz Kyl kyyak, highlighting the shared musical heritage of the region's various Khaganates.

Le Tengrisme : La Religion Oubliée des Turcs

En quel Dieu les Turcs croyaient-ils réellement avant d'accepter l'islam? Cette question intrigue de nombreux curieux. Dans le Livre turc de la divination du 9e siècle, un nom se distingue : Tengri, le Dieu des Turcs, aussi vénéré par les Mongols et les Huns avant leur conversion à d'autres religions.

La religion ancestrale des peuples turcs, tels que les Turcs d'Anatolie, les Kazakhs, les Tartares et les Ouïgours, était le tengrisme. Mais qui est réellement Tengri? Contrairement aux idées reçues, les Turcs et les Mongols étaient des adeptes de Tengri, le souverain du ciel éternel, selon les mots de Gengis Khan. Le rôle du chaman était mineur dans cette croyance. Bien que monothéiste, le tengrisme inclut d'autres divinités comme Umay, protecteur des enfants à naître, et la Terre Mère, ainsi que des dieux du feu, du soleil, de la lune et le gardien des enfers.

Dans cette exploration de la mythologie turque, nous découvrons que le tengrisme repose sur l'idée que toute vie est interconnectée et que paradis et enfer sont au-delà de l'humanité. Contrairement à d'autres religions, Tengri et ses divinités respectaient un équilibre des pouvoirs, englobant terre, ciel et monde souterrain. Les peuples de la steppe étaient éduqués à respecter la nature et ses créatures, évitant le gaspillage et la destruction. Ainsi, le tengrisme s'apparente plus à une philosophie de vie qu'à une religion, toujours pertinente aujourd'hui.
