Leading with Purpose: The Power of Women to Lead

In this episode we discuss the powerful leadership potential of women, including the strength found in motherhood, nurturing, and influence. Through the lens of the gospel, women do not need to measure their worth by worldly standards to lead powerfully. When women fully embrace their divine gifts and work alongside men in unity, their influence becomes a powerful force for good in families, communities, and the kingdom of God. Our guest shares that true leadership is not about status, recognition, or power, but about humility, faith, courage, and a willingness to step forward when God calls us outside our comfort zone. In many ways, choosing to act in faith despite fear is one of the greatest demonstrations of leadership.

Leading with Faith: Fulfill the Measure of Our Creation

In this episode, I sit down with Margaret Woolley Busse, Commissioner of Utah's Department of Commerce, to explore the powerful intersection of faith, motherhood, leadership, and public service. From raising five children to running for political office and serving in the governor's cabinet, Margaret Woolley Busse's journey reminds us that faith and ambition are not mutually exclusive. Her story is one of purpose, courage, and a desire to build bridges in an increasingly divided world. You will hear her discuss themes surrounding leadership, confidence, purpose, and trusting God as we fill the "measure of our creation."

A Prophet’s Granddaughter: Faith That Shaped Her Life

What does it look like to truly put God first—and how can the lessons of one generation shape the choices of the next? Heather Sandstrom, granddaughter of President Ezra Taft Benson, shares personal stories of faith, family, and the remarkable partnership between her grandparents. We talk about the “decade of decisions,” when choices about faith, marriage, and direction can shape the trajectory of a life; the power of strong family foundations; and how an eternal perspective can carry us through unexpected trials and loss. You will love learning from the granddaughter of a prophet.

San Diego Temple Open House: Joy in Sacrifice

Nearly 300,000 people walked through the San Diego Temple during its 2026 public open house—yet behind those numbers were countless acts of faith, sacrifice, and service. Sister Beverley Monroe and her husband, Keith, helped oversee the hundreds of volunteers who welcomed and guided guests through the temple during those remarkable weeks. In this episode, Beverley shares what she learned as service became not only a sacrifice, but an act of surrender—trusting the Lord even when challenges arose in her own family. She recounts tender mercies, unexpected connections with visitors of other faiths, and the miracles that reminded her that God works both on a grand scale and one person at a time.

The San Diego Temple Open House: Joy in Service

Sister Linda Page, along with her husband, served as the Coordinators of the San Diego Temple Open House and Rededication Committee. They devoted themselves full-time to preparing for this extraordinary event that ultimately welcomed nearly 300,000 visitors.

In this episode, Linda takes us behind the scenes of that remarkable experience, sharing tender miracles, unexpected challenges, answered prayers, and the unmistakable hand of the Lord. But more than anything, her story reflects the joy of the gospel—the joy of serving, gathering, worshipping, and inviting others to experience the peace and goodness found in the house of the Lord.

What initially felt like God taking her husband away during her greatest need eventually became evidence that He had not forgotten her. Today, as an author, coach, and speaker, she helps thousands of women find hope, healing, and a renewed sense of self after seasons of mental-health struggle.

What if the Holy Ghost isn’t as quiet as we sometimes think He is? In this episode, Elizabeth talks with Arantza Condie, a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who describes feeling the Spirit like a bolt of lightning — though it wasn’t always that way. As Arantza shares her conversion story, she reflects on how becoming a wife and mother became the catalyst for profound change, and how she can now look back on some of the darkest seasons of her life and recognize that the Savior was gently reaching out to her through the Holy Ghost all along. Her story is a beautiful reminder that God’s love never ebbs and flows, His invitations never cease, and perhaps He has been speaking to us all along as we learn to recognize His language.

What does it look like to hold onto hope when the answer you’re praying for doesn’t come—at least not in the way you expected? In this episode, Chelsea Monahan shares her deeply personal journey through infertility and the long, tender season of waiting for motherhood, offering powerful insight into what it means to trust God in the unknown. Her story reaches beyond infertility, speaking to anyone who has ever felt they were “waiting on the Lord,” and bringing comfort to those experiencing loss, longing, or life paths that look different than planned. Released in anticipation of Mother’s Day, this episode gently redefines motherhood—not as something limited to biology, but as a calling rooted in love, nurturing, and caring for God’s children. Through her faith and experiences, Chelsea reminds us that even in the waiting, we are seen, loved, and never alone.

Sometimes God allows doors to close so that we will look to the next open door, and through that door we find Christ. In this episode, Morgan King shares the unexpected story of being called to the Germany Frankfurt Mission—Turkish-speaking… only to discover in the MTC that she wouldn’t really be serving in Germany at all. Instead, she’d be teaching people in Turkey, mostly online, in a country where missionary work feels nearly impossible and where the Church is still small and fragile, yet energetic and growing.
What happens next is a rollercoaster of faith, culture, and miracles -- truly reinforcing the saying that when one door closes, another door opens.

“When one door closes, another door opens” is a saying that has been around in various forms for centuries. To guest Shelley Hunter, this is more than just a saying, it is her life experience. And throughout her life, she has seen the Savior lead her to, and carry her through that next open door. In this episode, Shelly shares personal stories that have real-life application for all of us — no matter our age or stage in life. Looking back, Shelley knows that throughout each of these experiences, her Savior has carried her through. She has learned to trust Him. And now looking forward, she asks the question: "If I really believe that God is in charge, then how would I act differently today?"

Sister Angela Moyer shares powerful lessons shaped by many seasons of service—both giving and receiving. Currently serving with her husband as mission leaders for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Berlin, Germany, she reflects on the sacrifices that come with leaving behind family, careers, and familiar comforts. For her, those sacrifices are rooted in love: love for her family, the missionaries she serves, and the Savior, who modeled true charity. Sister Moyer reminds us that we don’t have to feel qualified to serve. When the Lord calls us, He provides a way, expands our capacity, and turns weakness into strength.

But when we better understand the Garment of the Holy Priesthood, or the Temple Garment, and the blessings that are offered when we wear it, then we just might recognize the blessings that come from this holy gift. Sister Heidi Richardson shares with us the increased power, purpose, and protection she feels in her life as a result of faithfully wearing the garment of the Holy Priesthood. Yet, she emphasizes that this realization did not come immediately, but has happened over time, and encourages each of us to "give yourself grace and time to come to your own understanding." This episode is a "no judgement," "only encouragement" discussion on the temple garment.

Then turning our minds toward an example from the scriptures, she reminds us of the story of Queen Esther and the beautiful characteristics that lead to saving her people, and establishes a scripture theme: “Thou art born to the kingdom for such a time as this.” — Esther 4:14
