Amy Liu

In this episode, Kara sits down with Amy Liu to talk about building Tower 28, the lessons she's learned as an entrepreneur, the importance of representation, and why women need to have more conversations about money. Plus, Amy shares the beauty products she swears by and even reveals her go-to Din Tai Fung order.

Amy Liu is the Founder and CEO of Tower 28 — the best-selling, sensitive skin-friendly beauty brand she launched in 2019 after a 20-year career building prestige brands like Smashbox and Kate Somerville. As a longtime eczema sufferer herself, she built Tower 28 to be a safe space for sensitive skin — and it's now the only beauty brand to fully adhere to the National Eczema Association's Ingredient Guidelines across every product. She's been honored with the CEW Visionary Award, EY Entrepreneur of the Year, and recognized at the Goldman Sachs Builders and Innovators Summit. Please welcome Amy Liu.

Dr Joyce Park

In this episode, Jenna and Kara sit down with Dr. Joyce Park (teawithmd) to discuss what she was like growing up painfully shy, the pressures of being an eldest daughter and a woman in the medical industry with a family, her medical trajectory and the twists and turns her career took, her incredible year in medical journalism, her content creation as "TeaWithMD," her new hair line KERATIV, and her journey as a mother of two.
Dr. Joyce Park is a board-certified dermatologist and founder of Skin Refinery, known online as TeaWithMD for her science-based approach to skincare education. Trained at Stanford and NYU, with experience at the WHO and in medical journalism, she specializes in making complex health topics accessible.
Through her practice and online community, she identified a major gap in effective, easy-to-follow hair loss solutions—leading her to create KERATIV, a dermatologist-developed system focused on scalp health and simple, trustworthy routines.

Vanessa Lee

Happy AAPI Heritage Month from all of us at AAGC & East West Bank.
In this episode, Vanessa Lee joins Jenna and Kara for a conversation that is as hilarious as it is deeply informative. From her BFF telling her she "ruined everything" when she got pregnant at 26, to building one of the most intentional aesthetic practices in the industry- Vanessa is refreshingly unfiltered and brilliant. She opens up about her East-meets-West philosophy, protecting heritage features in a Eurocentric beauty world, and the powerful question she asks every single client before touching their face: "What do you love about your face?" This one will make you laugh, think, and look in the mirror a little differently.
Vanessa Lee is a globally recognized aesthetic expert, entrepreneur, and founder of The Things We Do. With over 17 years in cosmetic dermatology, she is widely known for pioneering Facial Balancing and her East-meets-West philosophy that blends advanced aesthetics with traditional Chinese face reading. A trusted beauty authority, educator, and sought-after speaker, Vanessa is passionate about facial harmony, skin health, and longevity — and is redefining what beauty looks like for a new generation.

Sarayu Blue

In this episode, Sarayu joins Jenna and Kara for a moving conversation about forging her own path. She reflects on growing up a wild child, earning a black belt, and the courage it took to walk away from jobs that didn’t feel right. Sarayu also shares funny stories from her upbringing like stealing chairs, her scholarly parents and the lessons those moments taught her about resilience and following her instincts.
Sarayu Blue is a stage, film, and television actress. While Blue may have at once been more well-known for her sharp comedic timing, this perception shifted when she got the opportunity to show her range in the Amazon limited series, "Expats." Starring opposite Nicole Kidman, and directed by Lulu Wang, the role of Hilary became a meaningful highlight in Blue's career. Before Expats, a defining moment for Blue, was becoming the 2nd South Asian American woman ever, to lead an American sitcom. Blue starred as Emet in the female-driven NBC comedy, "I Feel Bad," produced by Amy Poehler. Blue began her career, stealing scenes in David E. Kelley's medical drama, "Monday Mornings," and she continued to work as a series regular on shows like, The CW's, "No Tomorrow." She also co-starred in the "Children's Hospital" spin-off, "Medical Police," along with getting to play some of her favorite roles in Netflix's, "Never Have I Ever," the 2nd & 3rd installments of "To All the Boys I've Loved Before," and the Universal feature, "Blockers," to name a few. Blue will next be seen in Netflix’s highly anticipated, “Unaccustomed Earth,” starring opposite Freida Pinto.

IG: @Sarayublue

This is an AAGC Originals Podcast, brought to you by Asian American Girl Club.

Executive produced by Ally Maki, Jenna Ushkowitz, Tia Samn and Kara Wang

Intro Music (OMG) by Gloria Kim

Edited by Jacob Ho

Special Thanks to Oscar Alva

Visit www.asianamericangirlclub.com
@Asianamericangirlclub
