In March 1976, 24-year-old George Geschwendt broke into the Trevose, Pennsylvania home of the Abt family and waited for hours, armed and hidden inside. One by one, as members of the family returned home, he shot and killed them in a calculated ambush rooted in years of resentment, humiliation, and obsession.

The victims included parents John and Margaret Abt, their children Kathy, John Jr., and Margie, along with Margie’s boyfriend, Gary Engle. Only two Abt brothers survived because they were not home at the time.
