Also, Bobby Witt Jr. is the greatest player ever and Maikel Garcia will eventually put up the MLB record for most career sac flies. This seems like an oddly specific prediction, just know that I am 100% right about 20% of the time with these things. Scott Barlow died for this.

One of the bigger mistakes was signing a questionably good player to a guaranteed 4-year deal worth $25 million. Which, for all intents and purposes isn't a LOT of money for MLB standards, but it still has had massive consequences to the Kansas City Royals. But today, we can put that all behind us as the bad man is now gone. Hunter Dozier has been designated for assignment, effectively removing him from the active roster. We don't have to talk about him anymore. We are free.

We're three games into the regular season and it is Ikuyover like a Bocchi the Rock meme. Mr. de Lux Podcast has some mixed feelings about the Royals and the baseball they've played this season so far. Maybe because it's been terrible, but also it hasn't been a lot. Does that mean we should start burning our 2014 pennants and Omar Infante jerseys in utter shame of this embarrasment of a franchise? Eh... There definitely ARE a lot of negatives to take away from the series, but there are lots of other factors as well, such as inexperience, lack of Spring Training, me saying stupid things, and so on. There are a few good things to take away from as well, if you squint hard enough.

The C of the Royals is now an even more important C, being the 4th catcher in Royals history. Oh and I have announcements to make too but no one cares about me lol

I just mean to say The Athletic put out a scathing article on how truly horrible the Royals pitching development is in 2022 and it's both satisfying and terrifying to know that it's not new information if you've been paying attention. But it comes from more deep-rooted sources than your average fan-made podcast, which makes it particularly eye-opening. For the Royals faithful, it's another day of worry, of panicking in slow-motion as we wonder if this team will ever be okay.

After a few slow games, the Royals bats came to life to defeat the Boston Red Sox 7-3, also thanks to some decent pitching by Kris Bubic.

After another low-scoring game, it's clear what kind of team the Kansas City Royals are in 2022: a team that doesn't score many runs, but prevents runs from scoring thanks to an invincible defense and a shutdown bullpen, both of which have already been shown, statistically, that they are among the best in MLB. The Royals have fully recovered from their 5-game losing streak by winning three straight, evening out their record to a perfectly balanced .500 after ten games, which is not a bad sight to see at all.

Kwantum Mechanics - Royal de Lux #08

The Royals lose a high-scoring game, but at least it's a little more even this time. There's a lot to not love about this game, but I do my best to highlight the good parts, or even the not-so-bad things, such as our invincible defense that's already saved a ton of runs, and Andrew Benintendi's lava hot start. Unfortunately, Beni's series is less of a talking point than the supernova start of Steven Kwan, who is far and away the best player in MLB after four games, and all I can say is good luck to whoever has to deal with him next because he made my weekend very not fun.
