We talk about the experience of coming into the present moment, what it’s like being consciousness in form, and I lay out the framework of the Three Teachings and how they relate temporally. Meaning, how the three Body teachings are about the past, how the Honeycomb Matrix is about the present, and how the Golden Frequency teaching is about the future. What happens when we free ourselves from the past, arrive into the spacious present moment, and plant seeds for a new future? We have opinions.

We also bring in Evolution Through Joy, describe how to create a garden planet, be nice to our parts, and end with profanity. You know, a normal Carrie and Robin episode.

Today on the podcast, I welcome Courtney Buterbough. Courtney is an empath, spiritual seeker, and lifelong experiencer of anomalous phenomena, but it wasn’t until she became severely ill with long Covid in 2020 and began a profound spiritual awakening that she started to have conscious contact, and finally became aware of the broad story of her experiences.

All of this has sparked a deep passion in Courtney for experiencer stories, and an interest in using her skills as a mystic, creative, former doula, and inheritor of a familial-based folk magic tradition to be a help to those who are also doing the work of bridging humans from this profound now into whatever comes next. Courtney is a wife, mother, Appalachian, “art school survivor,” and aspiring Bodhisattva who writes about these and other things on her Substack, The Unidentified Felt Object

Today I welcome Anthony Miller onto the podcast. Anthony shares his journey through a series of ontologically shocking events ranging from cultural to political to religious to exploring the very fabric of reality. This resulted in him developing a contact protocol that, to put it lightly, was a success.

Anthony Miller is the co-host of "Fire In The Cosmos" (formerly "Obliterate The Construct"), a video podcast with Sinéad Whelehan examining the wide-ranging connections between consciousness, various anomalous phenomena, mystical experiences, and human potential. He is also the state lead for the Virginia chapter of Citizens for Disclosure, a volunteer activist group under the New Paradigm Institute pushing for UFO disclosure in Congress and destigmatizing the topic throughout society.

Anthony is an experiencer of various anomalous phenomena who has learned the importance of taking a broad, non-dualistic, and integral approach in the exploration of consciousness and our greater reality, seeking to communicate this in both his public and private outreach efforts.

With a career in open source intelligence (OSINT), he leverages his expertise in media and disinformation analysis to raise awareness on the narratives and constructs that have co-created and continue to permeate our perceived realities, and how we can regain agency and re-enchant our world. Anthony holds a master’s degree in Public Policy & National Security from George Mason University and a B.A. in International Studies from Virginia Tech.

Recently, he has started a position as Fundraiser for the nonprofit Consciousness Hub -- a community for those exploring the nature of reality, inner growth, and expanded awareness, featuring live events, meditations, imagination journeys, and practical tools that support real change.

Carrie is a teacher, coach and Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and she and I have shared many extraordinary experiences, including the extraordinaryordinary experience of loving and supporting each other on our personal and spiritual journeys. Edson has just released his first book Strange Light: Personal Accounts of UFO’s, NDE’s and other Enduring Mysteries.We had a wonderful conversation about what it’s like to be a writer, his journey from skeptic to author in the field of the absurd, mysterious and paranormal, how the phenomenon seems to “tap” experiencers for certain projects and more.

Before we get into it, I feel like I owe a report on thewhat and where and what the fuck of the last few months of my life. I’ve gone through a month-long solitary silent retreat, I’m no longer the community manager of the Experiencer Group, I’ve traveled back and forth across the country in my trusty truck Denny multiple times, and oops I fell in love. ‘Member when I said 2025 is the weirdest timeline with the most potential? Yes, that.

I keep trying to wrap my head around how to sum all of thisup, as well as the fact that the Armageddon dreams are back, how I’m making sense of them, how I’m wrestling with what is Evolution through Joy anyway, and is it ok to be ok as the world shudders in ways that modern humans have nevercollectively felt. How to talk about the new Underworld journey that’s arrived. Ereshkigel calling me down and in again and again and how GOOD it is to be back there. So much to say. So many threads and tributaries all woven together, and it’s all defying orderliness.

Episode 71: Beauty as Nourishment for the Apocalypse with Andrew Schlechten

On this episode of the podcast, I speak with artist Andrew Schlechten. Andrew is a young creative, trained in design and fine art photography at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Andrew reached out to me a couple of months ago after hearing me on Mike Clelland’s podcast and we chat about Mike a bit in the few minutes of this conversation. I checked out Andrew’s work and heard him speaking about beauty and the necessity for an education in aesthetics, and felt drawn to explore these concepts more deeply. For some reason the lifting up of ideas and ideals around beauty and aesthetics feels connected to moving from Evolution through Suffering to Evolution through Joy and Creativity. Andrew and I talk about the link between beauty and health and how to connect with our personal sense of beauty. This conversation also got me thinking about ecology and beauty, goodness and ethics and how they're all related.

And also, the Greys.

How they don't seem to have art, sex, humor, beauty. And how that might be tied to why they abduct us. So there's that.

On this episode, I speak with Sami DiMouro. Sami is a music and visual artist originally from the east coast, now living in the southwest. She's currently working on her first album titled, Nose Job, depicting her experience of shocking self-discovery brought on by a "push" beyond the confines of consensus reality. Sami's vocal style provides an experimental blend of alternative R&B, and for her album, introduces ancient sounds from her Sicilian heritage. She has several songs out now and can be found under her artist name Sami DiMouro on all major streaming platforms.

In this episode, she recounts her story of moving from an atheistic, materialist worldview through the portal of grief, number synchronicities, (11s, anyone?) and ultimately into acceptance of her psi gifts. Episode 58: How To Think Impossibly with Jeffrey J. Kripal

Guess what? Jeffrey J. Kripal, you know him, you love him, is on this episode of Earth: A Love Story. Jeff holds the J. Newton Rayzor Chair in Philosophy and Religious Thought at Rice University. He worked with Rice’s special collections director to create and host the Archives of the Impossible, which is a collection of accounts detailing the supernatural, including thousands of firsthand abduction accounts, letters written to Whitley and Anne Strieber, once highly classified government remote reviewing files and has become one of the largest and most significant collections of research materials related to these marginalized and tabboed topics in the world. Jeff also organized the Archives of the Impossible conferences. He is the author of over a dozen books, including Authors of the Impossible: The Paranormal and the Sacred, Esalen: America and the Religion of No Religion, Kali’s Child: The Mystical and the Erotic in the Life and Teachings of Ramakrishna and The Flip: Epiphanies of Mind and the Future of Knowledge. His present areas of writing and research include the articulation of a New Comparativism within the study of religion that will put “the impossible” back on the table again, a robust and even conversation between the sciences and the humanities, and the mapping of an emergent mythology or “Super Story” within paranormal communities and individual visionaries. Jeff’s new book, How to Think Impossibly: About Souls, UFOs, Time, Belief and Everything Else is out now.

Through my own personal lens, there have been a few really pivotal interactions with Jeff’s work which have informed my own journey and work. First, Jeff is the one who said, in reference to experiencer accounts, If you haven’t heard about the trauma or the sex, you haven’t heard the whole story. Second, he said We need to tell better and better stories so that we can have better and better experiences. We essentially control our future and our children’s children’s future. We can constantly make a different ‘movie’ that we then exist in and experience ourselves in. (Which, you guys, I think is evolution through creativity).

Episode 57: Aliens Took My Eggs, I Guess

I agonized over the name of the episode. I think I nailed it.

Really, though, it's a tough subject and there is trauma here. A lot of it. Ontological re-ordering and fear and truly what, for me, amounts to childhood s*xual abuse that has colored all of my relationships, particularly romantic and s*xual ones. So the part of my that wants to stay light and glib and humorous is protective. And I get that, and I have Grace for myself. I hope you have some for yourself, too.

Also, often when I'm compelled to talk about stuff I don't want to talk about, what happens is that once I have the bones pretty fleshed out even before I release it into the world, it is no longer mine. It's a thing moving through me, and it no longer belongs to me. It becomes an entity that goes out and does its own work in the world. That's what my book was, too.

This is my job. And I consent.

This time on the podcast, I speak with Human Design expert Adrienne Mette. I met Adrienne at my recent trip to Contact in the Desert and was SO EXCITED when I did. I’ve been a Human Design nerd for a few years now, but it such a huge, complex and intimidating system that I could only wrap my head around so much of it. I had reluctantly resigned myself to having to study and learn this sprawling system, and then bam! I met Adrienne and now I don’t have to spend years learning all the things! An interesting note for my fellow experiencers, Human Design was received as a download from what Ra Uru Hu called The Voice. It’s one of the trippier experiencer stories I’ve ever heard, and I’ve linked a video of him talking about it here.

Episode 53: Sean's Near Death Experience

In this episode we meet fellow experiencer Sean. This is part one of a two part interview, where Sean details a very difficult time in his life, punctuated by a near death experience which completely changed his life, but not right away. Sean is such a kind, affable guy that it sneaks up on you how hard his journey has been. We talk about very raw and difficult things, including a detailed and bloody account of a harrowing event that caused his NDE (heads up if you’re at all squeamish, it’s intense), as well as his experience with hitting rock bottom in all aspects of his life. He came through this time and completely transformed his reality in a really bold and unconventional way. I have to say, neither of us recommend or condone this as a pathway for anyone else, and Sean openly admits that he almost didn’t make it through. In addition to an intense description of Sean’s death and return, we speak of thoughts of suicide, entheogen use, and other really touchy and difficult topics. Spoiler, he made it through, and his hope is that his story can be an inspiration for others, if not his specific path. We all have to find our own way through the dark forest of the Hero’s Journey. Episode 52: F*ck the Empire Oh Wait I Am the Empire with Jon Hartigan

On this episode of the podcast, Jon Hartigan from @samsara.is.for.lovers⁠ is back. On this episode, we get right into it with Pluto’s Return and what it means for the 2024 Election, Gaza, substance use disorder, why fentanyl is being put in the drug supply, and much, much more.

"Even though punk rock is dead", says Jon, "its spirit lives on".

We find that revolutionary spirit exploring a secret third option about how to engage with all of this. How the best way to bust out of the Empire, the best way to weaken the systems of oppression are through connection to each other. It sounds simple, but tune in. It’s powerful and experiential and relational and beyond all of the conceptions and simulacrums of ideas that we’re swimming in these days. This all speaks to the orientation I’m feeling towards a collective of people who are not collapsing the narrative down into easy us vs them answers but who are holding paradox and space for something new to emerge. The feeling that the fringes of society, the edgedwellers, the weirdos, the mystics, wanderers, artists, experiencers, the people who aren’t neatly situated inside of the consensus reality Overculture, are who are needed in this time. I think it’s the scrappy counterculture who will live new stories into being, stories that we need as we face the multitude of crises which are arising (and yes, I include myself in that counterculture, even though I live a docile life in the shire in a little hobbit dome in the middle of nowhere).

"I am still punk rock", I whisper into my chamomile tea at 830pm on a Friday night.

Also, don’t get me wrong. Even as I say Fuck the Empire and call upon us to enter into a bloodless (r)evolution through Joy (more coming on that concept soon), I am also well aware that we are the Empire. I am the Empire. I am the Overculture. It is in me and I am it, even as I do the work to decondition and dissent.

In this episode, we get into all of that, and throughout the conversation Jon delivers a dharma talk that weaves in Tibetan Buddhist cosmology and practices. He also talks about harm reduction in a way I’ve never heard before and which really changed and enlivened me.

Episode 48: The Divine Feminine and Sexually Coded Ecstatic States with Mark Burchick

This week on the podcast I speak with Mark Burchick, a filmmaker and artist from Baltimore, MD who is exploring anomalous studies topics in his artwork and research. He most recently presented a paper, co-written with Diana Walsh Pasulka, about using AI art programs to visualize encounter experiences with angelic beings from the Catholic tradition. He also wrote a recent episode of Kelly Chase’s UFO Rabbit Hole podcast discussing the “Black World” of government secrecy and the work of artist and researcher Trevor Paglen.

Mark and I discuss his childhood which was shaped by intense fear of alien abduction, his strong desire for devotion and connection to God, as well as his certainty that due to world events and online religious prophecy, he wouldn’t live to see his adult years. We talk about sexually coded ecstatic religious experience, his work around Marian apparitions, AI, and rose petals as acheiropoieta - or religious objects not made by human hands. We even take a little detour in Gnosticism (at my insistence) and Mark shares an experience of sending himself a message from the future. This is a good one, folks. Please enjoy.

This time on the podcast I welcome the one and only Darren King aka ExoAcademian Darren hosts two excellent podcasts that you should check out. The Point of Convergence Podcast addresses inter-related topics such as the UFO Phenomenon, alien abductions and ongoing contact experiences, remote viewing, near death experiences, out of body experiences, interdimensionality, and high strangeness. In addition to discussing these and related topics, he explores their apparent connection as contact modalities within the bedrock of entangled Consciousness. Darren also cohosts the Liminal Phrames podcast which is dedicated to the exploration of the meaning-making models we form around UFOs, contact with non-human intelligence, and paranormal experience. And you know I love me some meaning-making models. Darren shares with us many of his personal anomalous experiences, as well as how he’s welcomed in his emotional body (also my jam). We also talk about a subject that I’ve been sitting with for a while now – that of influence, nefarious or not – what it looks like, what are the results, and what to do about it. I recently mentioned in a post on instagram that I was going to do a quick and dirty solo episode before I left for my retreat. Well, turns out when i take almost any time away from screens, however small, all kinds of downloads and information come rushing in. So this won't be quick after all. I have a lot to say. It's a framework that I've wanted to lay out for a long time, and have been struggling with how to do it. I want to explain some shorthand that has emerged between me and my close group of friends. Shorthand like moving from Evolution through suffering to evolution through joy, learning to turn the wheel, first fuck you, touching bottom, primordial time, and more.

Episode 31: Mescalito Riding His White Horse with Mike Fiorito

This week I talk to Mike Fiorito, author of several books, including The Hated Ones, Falling from Trees, Sleeping with Fishes, Call Me Guido, Freud’s Haberdashery Habits and Hallucinating Huxley.

Falling from Trees received the 2022 Independent Press Distinguished Book Award in the short story category.

Mike's latest book, Mescalito Riding His White Horse, is inspired by the music of bluegrass legend Peter Rowan.

He has a novel in production, slated to come out in 2024, called For All We Know, which examines the phenomena and the liminality that always seems to be associated with it.

I saw Mike’s book, Mescalito Riding His White Horse, pop up on my Instagram feed, and the name and cover caught my eye. I didn’t know anything about Mike, or Peter Rowan, for that matter, but I kept feeling drawn to reach out. I know better, at this point, than to ignore those little sparks of connection. When I did reach out I discovered that we inhabit unexpected overlapping landscapes, including Tibetan Buddhism, wisdom traditions, ufology, profound dreams and visions, and a fascination with the phenomena. Mike sent me a copy of Mescalito, and when I began reading, I was astonished at the flurry of synchronicities with my own writing that emerged in the very first paragraph. Those of you who have listened to or read my book will catch it right away, I’m sure.
