After one of the more heroic quarterback performances in franchise history, the defense found a way to completely and utterly mess themselves with a collapse that may have outdone the epic fail one week earlier against a winless Jets team. Caleb Williams found Colston Loveland with 17 seconds left for a 58-yard go-ahead touchdown to lead the visiting Chicago Bears to a wild 47-42 win over the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday in Cincinnati. Jobs should be lost at every level after what the Bengals have done the last two weeks at home. Skinny joins Trags to explain why with the failing football operations and ownership, it almost certainly won't.

Loveland caught the pass at the Cincinnati 40 and broke a Jordan Battle tackle attempt and outraced the Cincinnati secondary for the score. The game ended on the interception of Joe Flacco’s Hail Mary pass 20 yards shy of the end zone. Loveland had a pair of touchdown grabs and stepped up for Cole Kmet, who didn’t play in the second half due to a concussion.

Flacco, playing with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, completed 31-of-47 passes and threw for a career-high 470 yards and four touchdowns for the Bengals (3-6), who lost for the sixth time in seven games.

CINCINNATI — It was Joe Flacco and Ja'Marr Chase to the rescue Thursday night when the Bengals absolutely needed it. Evan McPherson’s fourth field goal of the night, from 36 yards with seven seconds remaining, lifted the Cincinnati Bengals past the Pittsburgh Steelers, 33-31, on Thursday night in Cincinnati. The play was set up on a perfect lob from Flacco to Tee Higgins for 28 yards from the Pittsburgh 35. Higgins slid to the Pittsburgh 7 and the Bengals were able to essentially kill the remainder of the clock before McPherson's game-winning kick. The Bengals (3-4) snapped a four-game losing streak and won for the first time since Joe Burrow was injured on Sept. 14. The Steelers (4-2) fell for the first time this season on the road.

Burrow’s replacement, Flacco completed 31-of-47 passes for 342 yards and threw three touchdowns while Rodgers threw a pair of touchdown passes to tight end Pat Freiermuth, including a 68-yarder for the go-ahead score with over two minutes to go to put the Steelers up, 31-30. Rodgers finished with four touchdown passes in total, all to tight ends.

Aaron Rodgers vs. Joe Flacco didn’t disappoint in the fourth-ever matchup of 40-year-old quarterbacks.

With Cincinnati's lead pass rusher Trey Hendrickson out with a hip injury, the 41-year-old Rodgers was able to scramble often, buying more time to find receivers downfield. Rodgers finished 22-of-32 for 244 yards two touchdowns and two interceptions. Steelers running back Jaylen Warren added 127 yards on 16 carries. The game ended when DJ Ivey batted Rodgers 60-yard heave to the end zone as time expired.

Ja’Marr Chase had a team-record 16 catches on 23 targets for 161 yards and a touchdown. Running back Chase Brown was key in Cincinnati's first-half rally with explosive runs of 37 and 27 yards. Brown finished with 108 yards on 11 carries.

Jungle Roar 2024 Cincinnati Bengals Schedule Release All The Highlights

CINCINNATI -- The 2024 Bengals 17-game schedule is out and it features five primetime games and three others in a national TV window. Trags and FOX19 Sports Director Joe Danneman discuss the ins and outs of the schedule and why it's reasonable to expect the Bengals to do well out of the chute in 2024.

Two of the Bengals’ primetime contests will be played under the lights at Paycor Stadium, beginning with a Monday Night Football matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 23 (8:15 p.m. on ABC). Cincinnati’s other home primetime game features the “Battle of Ohio,” as the Bengals will host the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football on Dec. 19 (8:15 p.m. on Prime Video).

The game against the Browns will be the Bengals’ second appearance on Thursday Night Football, and their second such matchup against an AFC North Division rival. Cincinnati also will travel to Baltimore to take on the Ravens on Thursday, Nov. 7 (8:15 p.m. on Prime Video). This marks the first time in team history that the Bengals are scheduled to play on Thursday Night Football twice in the same season.

The Bengals will kick off the regular season at home against the New England Patriots on Sunday, Sept. 8 (1 p.m. on CBS), and close out their schedule with a road clash against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 18 (date/time TBD). Preseason opponents also have been finalized. Cincinnati will open the preseason at home against Tampa Bay on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m., then travel to Chicago to face the Bears on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 1 p.m. Each of the first two preseason games will be broadcast on the Bengals Preseason TV Network. Cincinnati will return to Paycor Stadium to host the Indianapolis Colts in a nationally televised preseason finale on Thursday, Aug. 22 (8 p.m. on Prime Video).
