Originality is a rare beast nowadays, which is why we're super proud of the Fear Street trilogy, or should we say thrill-ogy!

Three incredible full-length feature horror films released weekly? Crazy right? Not only that but it has interweaved characters, plot-lines and oh... starts in 1994 and ends in 1666 and is written by a master of his craft - Goosebumps creator RL Stine.

He dropped by to speak to the ladies , who are so pathetic when it comes to horror, we got Alison Peirse, and actual academic expert in horror films to come and calm them down.

Adeel Akhtar stars as Dr. Aditya Singh, but you will almost certainly already know him from one of the many shows lucky enough to have him, such as Killing Eve, Utopia, The Big Sick, Four Lions, The Night Manager and Back to Life. He is ubiquitous, brilliant and one of the nicest people we've ever had on the show.

Alexandre Aja on Oxygen and the new wave of incredible foreign language films

There was a time when anything with subtitles was considered far too intellectual and posh for mainstream consumption - but thanks in part to the meteoric rise in the fantastic Scandi-Noir genre, we now think nothing of settling down and applying a bit more concentration.

This is rewarded with some incredible viewing. Imagine a world without 'The Platform', 'Money Heist', 'Lupin' and now... 'Oxygen'.

Alexandre Aja is known for bringing us some of the most watchable horror of the past few decades, but thanks to lockdown, has had the opportunity to deliver this socially-distant claustrophobic Sci-Fi thriller starring Melanie Laurent.

Criminal is one of the most gripping crime dramas ever made. It's unique format really nails the intensity of the situation and, as we already know the police have got their criminal, we're thrown deep into the detail of how the cops get them behind bars.

Aside from the intensity of the script, it's perfomances are simply stunning. Whether it's the conveyor belt of stars such as Kit Harrington and Sharon Horgan playing the criminals, the duty solicitors trying to protect them - or the familiar faces of the police - everyone on set brings their absolute A game.

What to Watch on Netflix: The Cheer special!

If you haven't seen Cheer yet, you are in for an absolute treat. This 6 part documentary series focuses on the personalities and journeys of a group of Cheerleaders in the small town of Corsicana , Texas. On the face of it, this is a show about acrobatics, tumbling and fierce competition - but scratch below the surface and it's like no show you've seen before. It is a compelling and gripping look at empathy, acceptance, determination and family in all it's guises.

How does that narrative translate over here in the UK? Well, Dotty found out when we invited London's finest Cheerleading troupe, Ultimate Cheer, in to discuss what they love about the show - and how closely it resembles their own experiences.

Then, in an unexpected turn of events, we got a call from Cheer superfan Rob Rinder who took us down an incredible rabbit-hole as he talked about why the show means so much to him.

Bafta Special Pt 2: The Irishman & Marriage Story

The second part of our BAFTA special features some incredible Hollywood legends.

After watching the incredible 'Marriage Story' Dotty managed to stem the tears for just long enough to sit down with writer and director Noah Baumbach. They discussed everything from that infamous argument scene to the use of CGI in movies.

As if that wasn't enough, Jamie got the chance to spend some time in the same room as none other than Robert De Niro. In town to talk all things 'The Irishman', Robert was in a reflective mood - discussing working with long time collaborator and friend Martin Scorsese - as well as the infamous 'Irishman table read' of 2012. What a guy.

Then, seeing as it's Friday - Dotty gave her pal Gena a call. Gena actually works at Netflix, so was able to tell us all the great stuff that's landed on today. She's trawled through it all - so you don't have to!

Bafta Special Pt 1: The Two Popes & Dolemite is my Name

Aside from some tantalising glimpses behind the scenes of one of the greatest films of the year - they discuss the Vatican's reaction to the film and of course - what they watch on Netflix.

Jamie East also had the honour of grabbing a few precious minutes with Costume design legend Ruth Carter. She is the brains behind some of the most incredible clothes you've seen on screen - from her relationship with Spike Lee, through Black Panther, to pimping up Eddie Murphy for Dolemite is My Name.
