The podcast for Formula 1 enthusiasts that tells the history of motorsport. Curated by Tommaso Fatichi.Nuvolari.net was born in 1999 from our passion for motorsport, and especially for Formula 1.Why Nuvolari? Because the flying Italian driver from Mantua has always represented courage and speed.A name that can be immediately associated with motorsport, whose disciplines we analyzed and talked about.A passion that we bring with us since we were very young, in my case since I was a child. (Smile)Why Formula 1? Because it’s the ultimate representation of the technological progress that we then find in the cars we use in our daily life. This sport has changed a lot throughout the decades, even to improve the drivers’ safety, but it’s still the peak of 4-wheeled motorsport.Hence the decision of creating this project, to talk about Formula 1 as a whole, starting from the very first World Championship in 1950.We will bring you the history of Formula 1, its technological evolution and the biographies of its most famous drivers. “You cannot describe passion, you can only live it”Enzo Ferrari

Formula 1 - The season 1956

With Mercedes leaving Formula 1 at the end of the 1955 season, its two main drivers went elsewhere: Fangio moved to Ferrari and Moss went to Maserati. The manufacturer from Maranello raced in the championship, having inherited cars and materials from Lancia, with the former Lancia D50, modified for the 1956 season.

“When I first began racing, I used to grip the steering wheel firmly, and I changed gear so hard that I damaged my hand.”
Juan Manuel Fangio

Formula 1 - The season 1955

Sadly, the motorsport season of 1955 is remember mostly for its tragic events, such as:
· Alberto Ascari’s death during a Formula 1 test at Monza
· Bill Vukovich’s death at Indianapolis
· The tragedy during the 24Hours of Le Mans. Pierre Levegh went off the track after a crash, ending up inside the public, causing 85 deaths and 105 injured people. After this crash the Formula 1 rounds in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Spain were cancelled that year.

“You need great passion, because everything you do with great pleasure, you do well”
