Let's Read the Avengers Secret Wars Plot Leak

Avengers Doomsday is coming, but then come Secret Wars! Let's read this supposed leak of the full Secret Wars plot together, and determine if we like it, and if we even thinks its real.

A year has passed since Battleworld was formed by Doom. Most of its residents have no idea about the old world, with only a few exceptions. Everyone on Battleworld - whose nature is medieval and feudal - believes it has always existed. Their past lives have been rewritten into "roles" (barons, rulers, citizens of domains etc.).
However, all three Spider-Men remember the old world, as do Namor, the Young Avengers, Vision, She-Hulk, Deadpool, Sadie Sink's Jean Grey, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Reed Richards, and Sentry. They form a resistance after realizing that Doom is not just a ruler - he is the engine of reality itself. Battleworld exists because Doom is actively maintaining it, using Loki's stolen power
They break into Battleworld domains. They split up and Travel through different domains (each acting as a broken patch of old universes)
Search for weaknesses in Doom's structure
Recruit allies who are beginning to "glitch" (regaining memories or questioning reality
Doom commands an army of Thors, with Doctor Strange as his second-in-command. He also has his coven of witches and, of course, Loki's stolen power. Yelena serves as his third-in-command, though she has no powers. Sentry is taken and is held captive under lock and key. Another key figure Doom keeps is Steve Rogers, the only person whose memory he deliberately preserved. Doom hates Steve and wants him to witness his victory-to see that Doom has won and built a new family, while Steve has lost everything.
Instead of directly attacking Doom, the resistance focuses on turning his forces against him. She-Hulk gathers the Hulks, Deadpool manages to restore Thor's memories, and the Young Avengers unite the mutant population. Tom Holland's Spider-Man rallies New York.
Reed Richards gathers the remaining members of the Future Foundation.
Meanwhile, Tobey Maguire, Hugh Jackman, and Steve Rogers - who escapes Doom's prison with Yelena's help - set out on a mission to find Loki. Since Doom restored everyone, Loki is alive as well, and he is the only one capable of stealing Doom's power.
Loki is round in an Asgardlan domain tal nas become a casino - a shady, corrupt version of Asgard. There they encounter Sylvie, Mobius, OB, and other TVA members working in the casino. Loki is the manager, but he refuses to believe their story and throws them out.
At their lowest point, they discover someone unexpected:
Tony Stark. He is a miserable drunk, gambling away his life in the casino, and initially refuses to join them.
Eventually, they convince him, and then they convince Loki as well.
At the final battle, armies from across Battleworld gather to storm Doom's castle. Thor and the Hulks fight against the army of Thors, while Sam leads the resistance against the witches, Doom Bots, and the rest of Doom's forces.
Reed Richards, Yelena, Sue (who now remembers everything), Steve Rogers, Hulk and She-Hulk, Tom Holland's Spider-Man, Sentry, Loki, Iron Man, Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man all confront Doom directly.
Doom overwhelms them, defeating them brutally, and they are nearly killed. Reed and Sue try to reason with him, telling him that he is grieving for his family and that Battleworld is not the answer. He is briefly convinced-but ultimately rejects it and attacks them again.
They are saved at the last moment by Tobey, Hugh, and Tony, who manage to hold Doom off long enough for Loki to reclaim the stolen power and restore the multiverse.
Everything returns to normal. Loki returns to his throne but not before saying a final goodbye to Thor and his TVA friends. Everyone is sent back to their original universes.
Yes-Deadpool, Wolverine, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four return to their own realities and do not join the MCU.
What this means for the future is unclear. The MCU
The TVA later get Steve, Peggy, and their son who is alive again in a new universe, one where they existed but died, preventing any incursions from occurring again. Before leaving, Steve asks the TVA for one last favor
Years later, an older Steve Rogers is visited by the TVA.
They bring him back to Earth-616 at the end of Endgame so he can pass the shield to Sam. After saying a final goodbye to Sam and Bucky, he returns with the TVA to the reality where Peggy and his son live.
The End.

Avengers Doomsday's entire plot has leaked online, according to John Campea. Let's read it together and discuss.

The full plot deacription of Avengers Doomsday:
Avengers: Doomsday opens in NYC on Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man's Earth. He's fighting Deadpool and Wolverine, who were sent there with a planet-killing bomb built by Beast to destroy Tobey's world in order to save their own universe from an Incursion. Tobey battles Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, who manages to plant the device. Wolverine stays behind when it detonates, and both he and Tobey's Spider-Man - along with everyone on that Earth - are killed. Deadpool escapes and returns to his own Earth, which we see in the distance. Charles Xavier watches the destroyed world below with sadness... but they had no choice.
We then cut to Tony's funeral. Steve speaks with some of the heroes, including Ant-Man, before returning the Stones. He goes back in time and chooses to stay with Peggy. They have a son, Jim. One day, Loki visits them - this is before the Loki Season 2 finale. He tells Steve about the TVA and warns him that they will soon prune this timeline because Steve was never meant to live there or have a son. Loki offers them a way out: he can take them to a universe where they don't exist and can live in peace - the Fantastic Four's universe. Before leaving, Loki gives Steve a special card to contact him.
Steve and his family live there for ten years.
We then see Doctor Doom visiting Sue and Franklin. They clearly know each other. Doom says he has come to speak with Reed. He warns him about the Incursions and reveals their universe is next. He proposes a plan - but they must travel with him to Earth-616. Doom also asks Reed whether it's possible someone from another universe is living in theirs. They scan the planet and discover an anomaly: Steve and his family.
They confront Steve, who recognizes them after living there for a decade. They explain the Incursions and ask him to come to 616 to help convince the Avengers to trust Doom's plan. They travel there, and Steve successfully persuades the heroes to listen.
Next, they visit the X-Men's universe - but the X-Men are hostile. They've survived multiple Incursions and trust no one. They assume the MCU heroes and the Fantastic Four have come to destroy them and attack.
Reed and Doom explains their solution: to build massive cannons on each Earth that will permanently separate the universes and stop the Incursions. They will split into teams and each one will go to another Earth to place a canon there.
Meanwhile, Steve tells Thor he met a Loki who is still alive. Thor asks Steve to take him to him. Using Loki's card, they locate the TVA - but when they arrive, everyone is dead and Loki has had his heart ripped out.
They realize Doom is responsible.
Steve goes back to confront Doom, who reveals his true plan: to allow the Incursions to happen so he can rebuild the Multiverse in his own image and resurrect his dead family. He takes Steve to his castle in Latveria on his Earth. There, Steve meets Doom's followers - masked witches. One of them impersonates Peggy to manipulate him.
Doom reveals that Steve's presence in their universe is what triggered their Incursion, because he didn't belong there. It also led to the death of Doom's family: Doom became obsessed with stopping the Incursion, conducting dangerous experiments - one of which failed, killing his family and leaving him disfigured, forcing him to wear the armor and mask.
As revenge, Doom kills Steve's son in front of him.
Doom announces that the Avengers are coming, and Lateria prepares for war. The Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and the X-Men unite and march on Latveria. Thor prays to Odin, who sends an army from Valhalla to join the battle.
A massive war erupts as the Earths begin to collide. Eventually, the universes crash into each other and are destroyed - killing everyone.
Everyone except Doom.
It's revealed that he stole Loki's powers. Using them, he creates Battleworld, resurrects everyone, and erases their memories. They believe Battleworld is all that has ever existed.
We see them living new lives in this false reality.
Doom sits on his throne as the Emperor of Battleworld.
The End.

Supergirl isn't great, but it wasn't terrible either. Milly Alcock was fantastic, but that's about where my praise ends. The rest of the movie was just... fine? Dare I say mid? This is of course all said in the context of comparing the movie to the only other DCU movie, Superman 2025, which is pretty tough competition. I worry James Gunn might be so focused on Man of Tomorrow that he allowed Supergirl to slip through the cracks.

Alex Perez: It’s more of a follower of Doom than a Witch, but not because she’s evil or anything of the sort. She just thinks that what Doom is doing will help her and her son to fix the current status of the multiverse, which is partially the fault of Steve Rogers.

cosmicriver: Hi Alex and Lizzie, always a delight to get a chance to ask you questions. What is the main connection/thread between Agatha All Along, WandaVision and Doomsday that you have been hinting at for the last few days?

Alex Perez: It mainly has to do with the concepts of magic that are explored in those shows. As much as this film is heavily based on the multiverse, time, and science, a good portion of it really goes into exploring the supernatural. The Darkhold, the runes, the way Agatha absorbs magic—it’s all relevant to something Doom does in Avengers: Doomsday. All I can tell you is to beware the man who carries the Word of God.

walker (or rayne): Hi Alex and Lizzie, always look forward to these. Is there any truth to the theory that RDJ’s Doom was Iron Man originally but was tortured by Kang and ended up believing he was Doom?

Alex Perez: There is no truth to that theory. In the same way that Chris Evans can play two different characters in the MCU with the same face, so can Robert Downey Jr. play Victor Von Doom. And just like how now we have a main Johnny Storm with Joseph Quinn, I’m hearing we’ll eventually have another Victor Von Doom.

walker (or rayne): Will any of the projects coming out this year have any major ties to Doomsday?

Alex Perez: VisionQuest and Brand New Day are the closest things, but it’s very, very light.

Manglor: Hey Alex, glad to see ya back with QnA’s! Was there any official info about Doom having an opening narration in the Library of Worlds in Avengers or was that just an idea thrown around or based on a fake leak?

Alex Perez: That isn’t true. There was a concept of Doom having discovered the Library of Worlds, but in that same concept, he had also discovered the Sanctum Infinitum from What If…?, the Nexus of all Realities, the Citadel at the End of Time, the Void, Limbo, and so on. Nothing was ever set in stone.

Nngala: Hey Alex. We have been hearing for months and basically a year now that Doomsday is going to be the biggest movie marvel has ever made in terms of scale. One thing that made Infinity War and Endgame feel so gigantic was that there was many plotlines that were all happening simultaneously throughout the movies. I was wondering if you could tell us the main plotlines that we will be following throughout Doomsday? For example, in Infinity War there is Strange, Tony, and Peter, The Guardians, Thor, Rocket, and Groot, The Avengers, and Wakandans And Thanos’s plotline.

Alex Perez: Good question. It’s a bit more unified and cohesive this time around. Yes, there will be a couple of different teams, but they’ll eventually get together for the film.

CH2003: Hi Alex and Lizzie I really appreciate you guys taking the time do these Q&As. With Doomsday, should we expect to see any of the cosmic entities? Since the multiverse is ending, I would think they would get involved.

Alex Perez: The most I have heard about was The Watcher, but that’s about it.

Astropologetic: What does Wanda’s role look like in Doomsday?

Alex Perez: All I can say at the moment is that her involvement is slightly unexpected.

And if so, for what reasons/what prompts that? I assume Bob will have to because it’s hard to imagine Doom winning with such a powerful adversary on the other side.

The Truth Behind Superman's Box Office Performance

Superman 2025 and it's box office has been a topic of great debate. Was it a financial success or was it a major flop? Colton Ogburn breaks down the numbers and data that proves Superman 2025 was a major success for DC Studios and James Gunn's new DCU, AND it made a profit.

Was James Gunn’s Superman a triumphant success, a miserable failure, or somewhere in between? Well there’s been a lot of discourse online about that very topic, and I’ve received A LOT of emails asking me about the conflicting reports on this movie and its box office. So let me give you the definitive answer, the final verdict on Superman’s success or lack thereof.

Now a discussion on whether or not the movie was good or bad is subjective, it comes down to your own personal opinion. However, things like box office numbers, home media and streaming metrics, and audience consensus are all fact based and data driven measurements that can determine whether or not Superman can be considered a victory for DC.

So, let’s take a look at the actual, real, indisputable numbers–and analyze the budget, the profit margin, the home viewing numbers, and general audience perception.

So, first let’s calculate what Superman needed to make at the box office to break even, break even meaning it made its money back. And there’s a lot that goes into this calculation. Not only do you need to account for total box office and production budget, but you have to include the marketing budget, which can sometimes be an even bigger number than the production budget. And you have to take into account the chunk of the box office the movie theater takes. So let’s do some math.

The production budget for Superman was 225 million dollars. As for the marketing budget, most reports I’ve seen claim that it had a 125 million dollar marketing budget. But I’ve seen other reports that it was 200 million.

Now, the film made at the box office about 616 million dollars. So, Superman made more money than it cost to make and market the film–winner winner chicken dinner right? Well, not so fast. For us to call it a financial success for the studio from a pure numbers perspective, we not only have to subtract their costs, but also take into account the movie theaters share of the box office.

Now some claim that movie theaters keep roughly half of the box office, but in reality the movie theaters split with the studio changes of the movies run. Movie theaters keep a very small percentage of opening weekend box office, which is when movies make the bulk of their money.

Opening weekend studios keep around 90% of the box office, leaving theaters only 10%. But as the weeks go on, the theaters start keeping about 50% when it’s all said and done.

Now the most common formula used to determine a movie’s breakeven point after the theaters take their cut is production budget times 2.5. For Superman that would equal 562.2 million dollars needed for Superman to break even, which means Superman made a profit.

But the formula I prefer to use includes the marketing budget as well, and then you multiply that total by 1.5, which would bring us to 585 million dollars needed for Superman to break even. Which means with the formula, Superman not only broke even, but it made a profit.

Now, to be fair, if we go with the highest estimate for the films marketing cost, which was 200 million, giving us a total of 425 million to make and market the movie, and multiply that by 1.5, we get 637.5 million, which would put Superman ever so slightly in the red. But again, that’s if we even include marketing costs in the equation, which we should–and IF we go with the highest estimated marketing costs. But when you take the high end and low end estimates of the marketing cost and average them out and punch that into our aforementioned equation, Superman does stay in the green.

So, while I would argue that the data shows Superman was profitable, I wouldn’t dare claim that it was some box office juggernaut, of course not. And here’s why this entire argument and squabbling over a few million dollars that puts it in the red a little this way or in the green a little this way is pointless. A few million is peanuts to Warner Brothers, it’s a rounding error. Whether Superman was a few million in the green or a few million in the red is irrelevant and a distraction from the real answer to whether or not Superman was successful.

Spider-Man's Secret Role in Avengers Doomsday (Ask Colton Clip)

Spider-Man will almost certainly be in the upcoming Avengers Doomsday, but which Spider-Man? You would think it would be Tom Holland's Spider-Man since he's the mainline MCU Spidey, Brand New Day leads directly into Doomsday, and he has a history with Tony Stark and we have RDJ's version of Doctor Doom. But with this being the culmination of the Multiverse Saga, a saga that largely started with Spider-Man No Way Home, perhaps reports are true that Holland won't be in the film, and instead we'll see a Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield 'sSpider-Man appear instead.

Will The Avengers Still Exist in the MCU's Mutant Saga? (Ask Colton Clip)

After Avengers Secret Wars, the MCU will enter a new saga, very likely the Mutant Saga which will give us a huge focus on the X-Men. Does that mean that the Avengers are going to be benched? Well, yes and no. I doubt Avengers films will continue to be the phase or saga cappers they once were. But there will still be Avengers movies that are likely smaller scale and on part with the X-Men films. And the larger scale phase and/or saga cappers will be massive crossovers called Marvel's "Title Here" and will star the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic 4, Spider-Man, etc.

Why Batman Would Actually Hurt The New DCU

The new James Gunn DCU does NOT need Batman. Superman and the amazing cast of characters we've already met, and the more to come, can carry this franchise on their own without needing to lean on the Bat. This will allow for the DCU to establish itself and its characters, especially B, C, and even D list characters, without living in the shadow of Batman. AND this will allow for Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson's Batman to have the stage to themselves for Batman movies. And once that trilogy is complete, THEN you bring in the DCU Batman, similar to how the MCU didn't bring in Spider-Man until Phase 3 (not by choice) and this forced them to make the MCU work without their golden goose.

Doom is assumed to be there for his own multiversal conquering plans in Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars. But what if Galactus is who sent him as his new herald, replacing the Silver Surfer.

Doom was missing during the movie, and I think he may have been off planet following a defeat from the Fantastic Four just like in the comics.

Doctor Doom is in the Fantastic Four Post Credit Scene, and I think I know why. This scene was directed by the Russo Brothers, just like the post credit scene form Thunderbolts, and it was shot on set of Avengers Doomsday. Doom is there for Franklin, but that's not all. Doom may be there recruiting Reed and the entire team for an incursion THEY caused by defeating Galactus and refusing to give up their son. And this also ties in to the eventual post credit scene we'll be getting in Spider-Man Brand New Day.

And I think it's clear that, with Downey almost being cast as Doom 20 years ago, lots of teases in Avengers Endgame, PLUS this new interview, Doctor Doom was always going to be in Avengers Secret Wars and played by RDJ. the only "pivot" was from Kang Dynasty to Avengers Doomsday.

The Batman 2 has been in development hell, and I'm reaching the point where I think they may just need to pull the plug. I loved The Batman and I loved The Penguin series even more. But with the DCU's new Batman on the way, and all of these delays and unsureness behind Matt Reeves staying involved, it may be time to leave well enough alone.

I mean damn, the first one was plagued by the drama of the Snyder-Verse/DCEU, and the return of Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton's Batmen. And now the sequel will have to compete with the James Gunn DCU and a brand new Batman. Add all of that to the apparent behind the scenes drama on getting this sequel off the ground, and the likelihood of this trilogy being completed just seems to get smaller and smaller.

Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars have both been delayed by about seven months. Meaning that the Russo's have more time to make these giant movies all the more better. With RDJ's Doctor Doom, the X-Men, the Fantastic 4, the Thunderbolts (New Avengers), Spider-Man and more all being in these Avengers movies, we can assume they're going to be bigger than Infinity War and Endgame ever dreamt of being. These delays are ultimately good news, and may be a good sign of a Secret Wars trilogy being announced soon.
