    <description>Hosted by Durelle and Samantha Bailey — married for nine years and building life side by side — this show is a real, unfiltered look at what it takes to grow together intentionally.

We believe marriage should be aspirational. Structured. Strategic. Not accidental.

Each week, we share honest conversations about relationships, financial alignment, business, faith, personal growth, and the systems that have helped us move from instability to ownership — and from survival to vision.

This isn’t about pretending to have it all figured out. It’s about choosing alignment, choosing growth, and building on purpose — the Bailey Way.</description>

      <title>9: How We Survived Long Distance &amp; Built a Life Together | How We Met Part 2</title>
      <description>What does it take to turn a long-distance relationship into a life together?

In Part 2 of their “How We Met” story, Samantha and Durelle revisit the sacrifices, risks and unexpected moments of provision that carried them from Nova Scotia and Florida to Dubai, military basic training and eventually their first home together in Arizona.

Samantha reveals how she used her scholarship money to fly Durelle to Dubai and spent nearly $1,000 sending him letters during basic training. Durelle opens up about why receiving those letters meant so much after growing up feeling like no one showed up for him. They also reflect on the family support, constant communication and willingness to take risks that helped their relationship survive the distance.

Samantha and Durelle share how trusting God helped them move forward when they could not see the entire path, why they never pressured each other to be more than they were in the moment, and what happened when long-distance ended and the reality of building a life together began.

KEY POINTS:&amp;nbsp;

  Scholarship money story

  Air Force risk and God’s provision

  Daily basic-training letters

  Move to Arizona and Samantha’s job

  What they got right from the beginning

  Loving each other through every stage

  The reality of building a life together

QUOTES:&amp;nbsp;

“When I got on the flight, that’s when it hit me, and I started like crying. I was like, ‘Man, I did not want to leave.’” – Durelle Bailey&amp;nbsp;

“I would be so depressed every time we had to leave each other.” – Samantha Bailey&amp;nbsp;

“I feel like we were unafraid to take risks. I think that’s one of the things that made us very successful to where we are now.” – Durelle Bailey&amp;nbsp;

“Everything doesn’t work out how it’s supposed to from our perspective, but it always worked out the way God had it work or wanted it to work out for us.” – Durelle Bailey&amp;nbsp;

“I used to have to expedite every single letter. I paid $15 every letter, so every day to make sure that it would get there within like two to three days.” – Samantha Bailey&amp;nbsp;

“God will bless you with something, but just because He blessed you with it doesn’t mean that it’s just perfect all the time. There is still watering that has to be done, maintenance that has to be done, and you have to care for it.” – Durelle Bailey&amp;nbsp;

“We never put pressure on each other to be more than what we were in that moment, and we just loved each other no matter what stage of life we were at.” – Samantha Bailey

      <title>8: Slid Into His DMs at 19… Now We’ve Been Married for 9 Years | How We Met Part 1</title>
      <description>Before the businesses, the marriage, the home, and the life they've built together, Samantha and Durelle Bailey were two nineteen-year-olds living in different countries with no mutual friends, no plan, and no idea where one simple conversation would lead.

In Part 1 of their love story, they share how a chance interaction on Instagram turned into late-night phone calls, a long-distance relationship, and the first moments that made them realize they had found the person they would spend the rest of their lives with.

They also reflect on the power of building with someone before either of you has life figured out, why character mattered more than finances, and how family, faith, and timing shaped the foundation of the relationship they have today.

Whether you're dating, navigating long distance, or still waiting for your person, this The Bailey Way episode highlights how the strongest relationships often begin long before either person has everything together. Listen in as this episode serves as a reminder that sometimes one message can change your entire future.

KEY POINTS:&amp;nbsp;

  The Instagram comment that started it all

  Their unforgettable first meeting in Florida

  The moment Samantha knew Durelle was her husband

  Why they believed in building together instead of waiting for perfection

  How long distance strengthened their relationship

  The role both families played in their journey

  Why potential matters more than polished success

  The first chapter of the love story that changed both of their lives

QUOTES:&amp;nbsp;

"Everything should be operating as a unit, operating as one." – Durelle Bailey

"I feel so safe. I feel so taken care of." – Samantha Bailey&amp;nbsp;

"We weren't able to solve each other's problems, but we had each other to deal with them together." – Durelle Bailey&amp;nbsp;

"I think that you miss out on so much about a person when you don't want somebody with potential." – Samantha Bailey&amp;nbsp;

      <title>7: Is Your Spouse Supposed to Make You Happy? Lessons After 9 Years of Marriage</title>
      <description>In this episode, Samantha and Durelle Bailey unpack one of the biggest misconceptions about marriage: that your partner is responsible for your happiness. Drawing from nearly a decade of marriage, they share how therapy, personal growth, emotional healing, and faith transformed their relationship from surviving to thriving.

They open up about the difficult years that no one saw online, the resentment they had to work through, why emotional safety changed everything, and how learning to fight fair strengthened their marriage instead of breaking it apart.

KEY POINTS:&amp;nbsp;

  Why your spouse can't make you happy

  The biggest mindset shift that changed their marriage

  How therapy helped them rebuild emotional safety

  Why conflict isn't the enemy of a healthy marriage

  The difference between happiness and fulfillment

  How childhood wounds show up in marriage

  Why choosing your spouse is a daily decision

  What it really takes to build a lasting relationship

QUOTES:&amp;nbsp;

"Happiness is an inside job. Happiness is personal; it's spiritual." – Samantha Bailey&amp;nbsp;

"The reward is fulfillment. The reward is legacy. The reward is purpose and family. And guess what? The reward is happiness." – Durelle Bailey&amp;nbsp;

"Marriage is not supposed to make you happy. It's supposed to show you how to love the way that Jesus loves us." – Samantha Bailey&amp;nbsp;

"Your partner is going to be a mirror to you every single day."&amp;nbsp; – Durelle Bailey

      <title>6: We’re Having a Baby! Our Pregnancy Announcement and First Trimester Reality</title>
      <description>In one of our most personal episodes yet, Samantha and Durelle Bailey open up about the moment they found out they were expecting, the emotional rollercoaster of the first trimester, and why pregnancy has been nothing like they imagined.

From discovering they were pregnant just before boarding a flight to Japan to navigating exhaustion, nausea, unexpected lifestyle changes, and the reality behind the picture-perfect pregnancy posts online, this is an honest conversation about joy, sacrifice, faith, and the journey into parenthood.

They also share how this new season has strengthened their marriage, why having the right partner matters more than ever, what they're most excited about as future parents, and how they're preparing to raise a child with purpose, faith, and intentionality.

From the gym incident that ended with an employee losing her job, to workplace conflicts, military leadership, people-pleasing, and learning to advocate for themselves, this conversation explores what it means to know your worth and teach people how to treat you.

Sometimes, the most loving thing you can do for yourself, your marriage, and your future is refuse to tolerate disrespect.

      <title>2: Why We Waited 9 Years to Start a Family</title>
      <description>After 9 years of marriage and 12 years together, Samantha and Durelle Bailey finally open up about why they chose to wait, what they learned during that season, and how their very different childhoods shaped the parents they hope to become.

On today’s episode of The Bailey Way, their conversation goes far beyond baby fever and parenting plans. Durelle shares the painful realities of growing up without healthy parental examples, navigating childhood trauma, and the commitment he's made to break generational cycles. Samantha, on the other hand, reflects on being raised in a stable, loving home and the lessons she hopes to carry into motherhood.

Together, they discuss healing, intentional marriage, emotional maturity, discipline, faith, family, and why becoming parents starts long before a child is born.

KEY POINTS:

Why we waited 9 years to have kids

The truth behind our "baby timeline"

Growing up with completely different childhoods

The day Durelle's heart was broken as a child

Breaking generational curses before becoming parents

How trauma followed us into marriage

The healing work required before having children

Learning to parent without healthy examples

Rethinking discipline, correction, and communication

God's provision through unexpected people

Preparing for parenthood beyond diapers and strollers

On building a family legacy that changes everything
