Make It To Midnight is FINALLY here!! This has been a passion project in my head for almost two years now and I'm excited to finally get it out of my brain and into a video.

I'm hoping this show can be a place where people find inspiration, motivation, laughs, tears, and words they needed to see or hear.

The world is a lot smaller than we think and we are all a lot more connected than we realize. I want to help show people that there is a story out there or a life lived that they can draw inspiration from when they need it most.

Life is hard and we are all just trying to make it to midnight each day.

Submit something to makeit2midnight@gmail.com that has helped you make it to midnight and I will share it on one of the shows or in my sub stack that I'm working on now.

Thanks for your support!

Kyle Clark on Dropping Out of College, Harsh Truth About Going Viral & The Stories Behind His New Album

In this episode of Make It To Midnight, I sit down with country artist Kyle Clark to talk about the journey that led him from college student to full-time musician.

I found Kyle's music a few month back and was truly inspired by it. The song is called "On God" and it resonated so much I sent him a dm to try and connect. Fast forward a few weeks and here we were sitting in the apartment of my living room chopping it up about his story.

In this episode we discuss the decision to drop out of college and move to Nashville, the challenges that came after going viral, and what it's really like trying to build a career in music as an independent artist. Kyle also shares the inspiration behind his new album, lessons learned from working with Hardy, the influence Jimmy Buffett and Kenny Chesney had on his music, and his true definition of "success".

If you've ever thought about betting on yourself, pursuing a dream, or taking a path that doesn't make sense to everyone else, then you will love listening to Kyle share his story.

Jon Murray Talks Changing The Hospitality Industry, People Over Profit Motto & Why Hardships Are So Important

This week on Make It To Midnight we sit down with one of the top restaurant owners in the COUNTRY.

Jon Murray started as a dishwasher in AppleBees and then became one of the top employees at Indigo Road Hospitality group before taking a leap of faith and starting Noko Nashville and Kase-Noko.

Jon's restaurant's are less than three years old but have already received nationwide awards including OpenTable's Top 100 restaurants.

The reason I wanted to talk and learn from Jon is because I have never seen a restaurant and its staff treat people so well. However, after talking to Jon I understand it. He treats his employees better than most business owners in general and in return they treat the customers the same way.

It's unique leadership that has roots in adversity, risk-taking, and faith leaning moments which ends up creating incredible fruits.

I hope you guys enjoy this episode and I hope you keep on making it to midnight!

0:00 Intro

4:00 Origin of doing things differently

7:40 Travel Fund for employees

9:30 Lessons from traveling

10:30 Leaving stability for building Noko

13:40 How a DUI changed everything

15:35 Losing his dad at 16-years-old

18:30 Taking pride in his work

25:50 The feeling of never being enough

30:00 Creating Kase x Noko

34:30 Jon's unique hiring process

42:00 Biggest influences

55:00 Make It To Midnight Lessons

Understanding The Courtroom Of The Mind

I was moved by the sermon I heard from Randy Draughon, one of the pastors at our church.

It was all about "The Courtroom of the Mind" and how the fear and anxiety come from the judgement you pass on yourself of if you are enough or if you are not.

This is one of my biggest struggles and one of the biggest struggles of the world. If you follow and chase the world you will never have enough and you will never be enough. There will be an everlasting feeling of hunger for more.

Life is not found in more, life is found in enough. Jesus paid the price, we just have a hard time fathoming someone else could pick up the bill for us.

I hope this episode encourages you and reminds you that you are enough, and I hope you keep making it to midnight!

Recapping My First Ever Trip To Japan & Why It Is The BEST Country I Have Ever Visited

A few weeks ago I visited the #1 country on my bucket list; Japan. For those who don't know me, I worked at IMG Academy in 2019 and that is where I fell in love with the Japanese culture.

They are the most disciplined, respectful, humble culture that exists in this world. During this trip we visited Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka where I was able to see my former students/friends.

If you ever have the opportunity to visit Japan, jump on it because it will change your life.

Conner Smith Talks New Album, Leaving His Record Deal & Leaning On God In His Darkest Moment

This was one of my favorite episodes I have ever been a part of at any capacity. I already loved Conner’s music beforehand but after getting to know him it hits that much harder.

The last year has been one of the toughest for the country music star and he’s very vulnerable and open about his mindset and how he was able to process everything.

We also get to hear about the writing process behind some of his favorite songs off of the new album and the intricate places he drew inspiration from.

Conner is an amazing guy, who makes amazing music, while shining light on an amazing God.

I hope you guys enjoy this episode and I hope it helped you make it to midnight!

The Two Most Inspirational Stories From The 2026 Olympics

The 2026 Winter Olympics was one of the best ones yet. Especially if you are an American hockey fan. Jack Hughes became an hero for the men and Megan Keller became one for the womens as both teams took out Canada in overtime.

BUT these were not the only headlines that took place on the ice. In this episode we will dive into the story of Gold Medalist Alysa Liu and her amazing story that goes from the youngest world champion ever, to retiring, to standing back on the podium making history yet again.

Then we dive into the tragic story of Johnny Gaudreau who lost his life to a drunk driving accident the day before his sisters wedding in 2024 and how the team honored him one last time by bringing his kids onto the ice for the team picture with the gold medals.

I hope you guys enjoy this episode and I hope you keep on making it to midnight!

How Identity Bunkers Are Ruining Friendships + Life Lesson From Vinland Saga

Episode 30 is here and it is one of my personal favorites. Recently I learned about the term "Identity Bunkers" from a podcast interview on Diary Of A CEO w/ Brene Brown.

The more I heard her explain what these bunkers are and how they are dividing friendships the more I realized how prevalent this issue is in today's society.

Before diving into the identity bunkers I talk about one of my favorite TV shows of all time, Vinland Saga, and my favorite lesson from the show, "I have no enemies."

I hope you guys enjoy this episode and I hope you keep on making it to midnight, we need you!

10 Reflection Questions For 2025 That Can Help You In 2026

For the final reflection episode of the 2025 year I will share with you the 10 questions I came up with to help me prepare and make the most of 2026.

After the questions I dive into the 5 themes I saw in my answers to the questions and how they could lead my 2026. I have a feeling we all may have some similar themes so hopefully this episode can help you out and encourage you to stick with your New Years Resolutions/fill your life with more things that help you become the person you want to become.

1. Working on yourself changes everything

2. Fear of being seen failing > Fear of actually failing

3. Joy comes from small moments, not achievements

4. The desire for creativity and connection

5. Distractions, Digital Noise and the Desire for clarity

Keep on making it to midnight, we need you!

30 Lessons I've Learned In 30 Years

My 30th birthday was on December 25th and for the first time in my life I wrote down some of the lessons I've learned.

It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. I have never fully sat with my thoughts on a birthday and explored my mind for the lessons I've learned and want to share with others. Needless to say it was a great way to exercise the brain and dig deep into myself.

I hope you enjoy these I would love for everyone who listens to it to do the same. You'll be amazed with what you come up with and what stands out from the story of your life so far.

Keep going and keep making it to midnight!

The Truth About Zac Brown Band’s Viral Concert @ The Sphere (I attended the concert)

The internet lied to everyone once again. Zac Brown was the man in the arena this past week on the internet when people accused him of performing satanic rituals during his shows at the sphere.

That’s not true at all. The concert was a journey from pain to healing, hate to love, failure to triumph.

It’s sad to see someone put two years of work into a project only for people who didn’t go to the concert to spread a false narrative.

But what a great reminder.

It’s not the critic who counts.

We face those same critics in our life and people who say they are fighting for “good” and accountability when in reality they are just trying to highlight the failure of another person. Make someone small so you can feel big.

The message this week, remain the man in the arena and hold people accountable for the right reasons, not the selfish reasons.

The Gift That Doesn’t Feel Like One: How Suffering Rewires You

Episode 26 is here and we are celebrating the one year anniversary of the Make It To Midnight brand, LETS GOOOO!!

In this episode we discuss the importance of suffering. It may sound crazy but it's ESSENTIAL to growing and becoming the best version of yourself. Suffering works and strains the brain in a healthy way building stronger pathways and keeping you sharp. It can seem counter-intuitive but comfort is worse for you than suffering in the long run.

We dive into neuroplasticity, how the NAVY SEALS use suffering, what suffering did to Nelson Mandela and J.K. Rowling and what it can do for you.

This has been one of my favorite episodes and I hope you enjoy it and that it helps you make it to midnight!!

I recorded this episode right before I went home to Greenville, SC and it's a quick one with a few small things I'm grateful for that hopefully resonate with you guys too.

I'm grateful to all of you guys that tune in and I look forward to closing out the year strong and hopefully impacting as many lives as possible with this channel!

10 Lessons I Learned From Chris Williamson's Live Show

This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend one Chris Williamson's live shows on his Self-Discovery tour and it was one of my favorite events I've been to ever.

I admire Chris's journey and take a ton of inspiration from him and his Modern Wisdom podcast so to hear him speak live was incredible.

In this episode, I break down the most powerful ideas from the night — including:

- Why doing nothing is still a decision
- How to choose your regrets wisely
- Comparison groups
- Celebrating Mundane success and boring victories
- Building evidence instead of relying on self-belief
- How to expand your time horizon

- Identity through Pain

- Avoiding “multiply-by-zero” mistakes
- Why every level has a devil

I hope you enjoy the podcast and keep on making it to midnight, we need you!

I admire Chris's journey and take a ton of inspiration from him and his Modern Wisdom podcast so to hear him speak live was incredible.

In this episode, I break down the most powerful ideas from the night — including:

- Why doing nothing is still a decision
- How to choose your regrets wisely
- Comparison groups
- Celebrating Mundane success and boring victories
- Building evidence instead of relying on self-belief
- How to expand your time horizon

- Identity through Pain

- Avoiding “multiply-by-zero” mistakes
- Why every level has a devil

I hope you enjoy the podcast and keep on making it to midnight, we need you!

One Of The Best Stories About Forgiveness I Have Ever Heard

Forgiveness is one of the hardest things to give someone after you've been hurt. That is exactly why it's so important to explore it, offer it, and accept it.

Nobody knows this better than Don Allison. Allison was shot in 1996 by a man named Marcus Cheffen. Today they are best friends.

I won't spoil any more of it but I hope this helps you find peace in forgiving someone else or even forgiving yourself. I hope you enjoy it and keep making it to midnight, we need you!!

Dr. Jane Goodall Tribute Episode

Dr. Jane Goodall is one of the most remarkable people to ever live in this world.

From her one-way ticket to Kenya without a college degree, to discovering Chimps used tools, to saving forests and ecosystems in Africa, changing laws to help animal's habitats and inspiring entire generations, Dr. Jane Goodall made the most of her time here on Earth and left us with an amazing legacy to live by.

She recently had a documentary come out on Youtube that I can't recommend enough.

I hope you enjoy this episode and I hope it inspires you to believe that you can make a difference no matter where you are because that's the truth, every day we make a difference and it's up to us if it's going to be a positive or negative one.

Enjoy this episode and keep making it to midnight, we need you!!

The Importance Of Chasing A Simple Life

I was excited to record this one because up until recently I had never fully bought into the pursuit of simplicity. However, over the last 3-4 weeks that has changed.

And because that has changed, I have noticed changes in myself. My mood has improved significantly and a lot of it has to do with doing simple better. The more you have the more that owns you. The faster we can stop the pursuit of more and embrace less, the happier we will be.

I hope this episode helps you out and as always, keep making it to midnight!

Suicide Prevention Month + Reaction To Current Events & The Importance Of Hope

It has been a HEAVY last three weeks to say the least. The assassination of Charlie Kirk, Colorado school shooting where two passed, a death at a college in Mississippi and the hundreds of other heartbreaking events that will never see the light of day.

Last week I felt hopeless seeing the reaction to Charlie Kirk's death, both sides screaming at each other and playing the blame game via their screens. I thought what has this world come to?

Then I stepped outside. I saw hope everywhere. Hope in a mom pushing her baby in a stroller on a green way. A group of 2 black guys and a white guy playing golf together, construction workers grinding their butt off in the sun and I realized the reality of life is different than what they show us on our screens.

I hope to encourage people to stay off their screens and social media more than usual as we close out September. I also want to remind people that true courage is not posting your opinion online, true courage is still loving someone that disagrees with you.

I hope this episode helps you wherever it finds you and keep making it to midnight! Thanks for listening!!

The five traits are this:

1. Integrity

2. Generosity

3. Resilience

4. Authenticity

5. Discipline

Let me know what you value most in people in the comments or examples of people you admire so I can check them out too. Thanks again for watching/listening and keep making it to midnight!

3 Small Tips To Help On The Bad Days

Episode 18 is here and if I'm being transparent I haven't been feeling the best the past few weeks for a number of reasons. I'm sure a lot of you can relate but when it was getting to its worst I realized it was the most important time to show up and continue pursuing my goals for this page.

Nobody is ever 100% every single day but the people that separate themselves are the ones that show up even if they only have 5% to give that day.

In this episode I talk about 3 things that have helped me get through this "valley" and I hope they can help you in your valley's too. Thanks for being here and keep making it to midnight!

How Frederick Douglass’s Words Changed The World & Why Yours Can Too

In this episode of Make It To Midnight, we dive into the life of Frederick Douglass — a man born into slavery who changed the world not with violence, but with words. You'll hear how a single overheard sentence at age 12 sparked a belief that would reshape his future — and how he used language to free not only himself, but generations after him.

We explore:

The moment Douglass realized that words could set him free

His greatest literary weapon: Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass

The science behind belief loops & neuroplasticity

Why the words you say to yourself may be building your future — or burying it

And how to reclaim your voice when the world tries to write your story for you

Thanks for listening and as always MAKE IT TO MIDNIGHT

5 IMPORTANT LESSONS FROM SIMON SINEK & CHRIS WILLIAMSON'S PODCAST

Immediately after I listened to the Simon Sinek episode on Chris Williamson's Modern Wisdom podcast I knew I had to try and make a recap video for it.

This is one of my favorite podcasts I've listened to in a while so hopefully you can learn something from my takeaways as well.

In this episode I go over 5 key takeaways:

1. The Crisis Of Purpose

2. Accountability

3. Everyone Thinks They Are Good

4. How To Overcome Fear

5. We Need Each Other

I hope you enjoy this episode and stay tuned because next week I will be dropping an episode about the 10 things I learned from James Clear's ATOMIC HABITS.

8 Reasons We Need To Be More Like Katherine Johnson From Hidden Figures

Katherine Johnson is one of the most remarkable human-beings I have ever read about and when I was researching for somebody who embodied the lessons I learned from Chris Williamson and Alex Hormozi, her story was too good not to pass up.

If you have seen the movie Hidden Figures then you know who she is but if you're like me then you have no idea what you are about to get into. The only info I'll give you in this description is that without Johnson we would have never launched to space and orbited Earth.

You'll have to listen to learn more about the racial inequalities and walls she had to breakdown and how you can apply her attitude to your own life.

I hope you enjoy this episode and MAKE IT TO MIDNIGHT.

The Viral Long Island Convenience Store Changing Its' Community + 3 Lessons I learned From Andrew Carnegie

Episode 11 is jam packed just like my nostrils! Please bare with the stuffy nose as I've been dealing with a little bit of sickness before my wife and I's first trip to Europe.

In today's episode I dive into the viral sensation, Island Ock, who is the co-owner of a corner store in Long Island. Ock set a standard in the community where if a kid has a 90 or above GPA he rewards them with 100 dollars and anything they want in the store.

The relationship he has developed with these students is SPECIAL and it goes to show you that believing in someone is the greatest gift you can give them.

After Island Ock gets his flowers I dive into the top 3 thing I've learned so far about Andrew Carnegie's life. He went from being a poor kid in Scotland to becoming the richest man in the world in the span of 30 years.

In this episode we dive into his childhood, relationship with Charles Schwab and how the importance of honoring someone's name closed him the biggest deal of his life.

I hope you enjoy and don't forget to subscribe and share it with a friend but most importantly... Keep Making It To Midnight!

The Story Of Dr. John Langdon Down - The Man Who Changed Down Syndrome Forever

Thanks for being here for another episode of Make It To Midnight!!

This weeks episode of Make It To Midnight we learn more about the man who Down Syndrome was named after and how he changed the way people view disabilities.

He took the leap in the 1800s to accept and build relationships with people who had disabilities while everyone else was trying to hide them for the world.

His approach was similar to Patch Adams, the famous doctor who opened a free health care center revolved around treating the person rather than the disease. These stories always catch my attention because it's an individual who went against the status quo, believed in himself, and changed world because of it.

I hope everyone enjoys this episode and keep making it to midnight!!

The Story Of Nicholas Winston & How He Saved Over 600 Kids During The Holocaust

In this episode of Make It To Midnight we dive into the story of WWII hero Nicholas Winston.

I was on the plane to Oregon a few weeks ago and scrolled through the movie list until I found one that caught my eye. Sir Anthony Hopkins was staring into the distance with a look of wonder in his eyes.

I wasn't prepared for the 120 minute emotional rollercoaster I was about to get on but it was worth every second. Nicolas Winston was a banker in Great Britain about to go on vacation but then received a phone call from a friend in Prague that would change his life and 660 little boys and girls lives. Winston's team of 4 saved entire bloodlines from Hitler.

This is a story of bravery, courage, compassion, and grit. The 1930s and 40s were dark times but so many people rose to the occasion and did things that changed the world forever. Thanks for listening and let me know if there are other stories I should dive into.

And remember, Make it to midnight!

And remember, Make it to midnight!</itunes:summary>

The Inspiring Story Of How Katharine Graham Became America's First Female CEO Of A Fortune 500

I recently read the story about the hero of the Washington Post, Katharine Graham. She is one of the most resilient business leaders in American history and is the reason the Pentagon Papers were released.

However her journey to the top of the business world was a long, treacherous one that should be admired and praised by the masses.

Her secret? Keep your ego in check and never put yourself over the product.

Katharine Graham's story has inspired me and I hope this short version of it can inspire you too. I highly recommend checking out the Amazon Prime documentary about her and listening to what Warren Buffet has to say about the icon.

Thanks for being here and remember, MAKE IT TO MIDNIGHT

5 Life Lessons From Simon Sinek

I have enjoyed Simon Sinek's content for years, ESPECIALLY his famous "all you deserve is a styrofoam cup" speech. So this episode was a no brainer for me.

I breakdown his 5 lessons of life ranging from the teachings of Nelson Mandela, to lumberjacks, all the way to what makes a NAVY SEAL.

Everything we hit on is something that continues to help me improve the way I live my life and treat other people. I hope you enjoy this episode!

3 Lessons From Ted Lasso That Changed How I Felt About Elon Musk

Episode 6 is here and I'm fired up because any time Ted Lasso is involved I'm immediately in a better mood and I hope you are too.

In this episode I will break down three of my favorite quotes from the show and how one of them truly changed the way I felt about Elon Musk and other world figures.

I hope you'll listen to this with an open mind because this life requires us to have one and it's better, trust me!

Thanks for listening and remember, MAKE IT TO MIDNIGHT.

Exploring Aaron Rodgers "Ego Death"

In episode 5 of Make It To Midnight we look into a small piece of the polarizing Aaron Rodgers' brain.

Yes Aaron Rodgers is a Super Bowl champion, All-pro, MVP and future NFL Hall Of Fame but he has an extremely interesting journey that I think is worth looking into.

I recently watched his new Netflix documentary, Enigma, and one thing stood out to me above the rest. He used the term "Ego Death" to talks about his largest time periods of growth.

I loved that concept so that is what this weeks episode is about as well as a quick quote from the philosophical entertainer, Alan Watts.

I hope you guys enjoy!

My Favorite Tim Grover Quote Of All Time

Episode 4 of Make It To Midnight is here and we are slowly but surely figuring this whole thing out.

This week our main conversation is centered around Tim Grover's famous quote, "If you think the price of winning is high, wait until you get the bill for regret."

For those of you who don't know Grover he was the performance coach of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade and one of the best speakers in the world.

After we break down Tim Grover, I dive into 3 very short stories with powerful meaning. I hope you guys enjoy.

Merry Christmas everyone! Episode 3 of Make It To Midnight is here and I’m grateful you are here listening to it. This week we will be talking about the story of “The Mexican Fisherman” and the tale of “The Stonecutter.”

The stories teach many life lessons but we will be focusing on how relative power is, the importance of humility, and why every role no matter how big or small is important.

Let me know in the comments if you have any recommendations of what I should read next

Submit something to makeittomidnight817@gmail.com has helped you make it to midnight and I will share it on one of the shows or in my sub stack that I'm working on now.

Thanks for your support!
