    <title>The Breaking Brad Show</title>
    <link>https://breakingbradshow.com/</link>
    <language>en</language>
    <copyright></copyright>
<description>What happens when a patient cures himself in his garage, then builds a biotech company from scratch? You get The Breaking Brad Show — where rebellion meets research and the impossible becomes inevitable.

Hosted by Brad Burnam, founder and CEO of Turn Therapeutics, the show explores what it takes to build something that shouldn’t exist — from breakthrough cures to bold startups to movements that challenge the establishment.

Each episode dives into the world of Rebel R&amp;D — not just research and development, but rebel and defy. You’ll meet founders, scientists, policymakers, and inventors who refused to wait for permission, funding, or precedent — and built their own way forward.

Because the future doesn’t belong to the biggest institutions.

It belongs to the people crazy enough to build the impossible — one idea, one risk, one breakthrough at a time.</description>

<title>Breaking Brad: The Road Less Traveled (to NASDAQ)</title>
<description>In this episode of Breaking Brad: The Road Less Traveled, Brad Burnam shares the story behind his unconventional journey from patient to biotech founder and how purpose, not pedigree, became his greatest advantage.

He unpacks the “why” that fueled his mission and the relentless determination that carried him through every obstacle on the way to taking his company public on NASDAQ.

It’s a powerful reminder that anyone with a clear why can figure out the how…as long as they refuse to give up.

      <title>The Female Sexual Wellness Divide</title>
<description>In this candid conversation, Bradley Burnam sits down with Mackie Swan — co-founder of Woo More Play and outspoken advocate for women’s sexual wellness — to unpack why female sexual health has been left behind by both Big Pharma and society at large. From the billion-dollar industries built around male performance to the stigma that still surrounds women’s pleasure and pain, they explore how funding, research, and open conversation have failed half the population. The episode challenges the double standards in sexual medicine and highlights how women like Mackie are working to change it — one unfiltered discussion at a time.

      <title>Forest to Pharma: Bridging Nature &amp; Biotechnology</title>
<description>In this episode, we dive into the growing trend of people turning to natural medicine, and the complexities that come with it. With the booming supplement industry and a flood of “natural” products on the market, there’s a growing need to understand the true potential—and the real risks—of integrating nature’s pharmacy into our lives.

Join us as we talk with Dr. Cassandra Quave, AKA the “Plant Hunter,” an amputee and antibiotic-resistant infection survivor who travels the world in search of cures hidden in nature. She has turned her personal journey of survival into a mission to discover plants that could become the next big breakthroughs in medicine—just as many of pharma’s biggest blockbusters once did.

From her state-of-the-art ethnobotany lab at Emory University, Dr. Quave shares her vision of bringing natural products safely into the mainstream and her tireless work to bridge the divide between traditional and Western medicine. It’s a journey into the green frontier of medicine you won’t want to miss!

<itunes:summary>In this episode, we dive into the growing trend of people turning to natural medicine, and the complexities that come with it.

<title>From Patient to Innovator: The Story Behind "Breaking Brad: Cures Unfiltered"</title>
<description>In the debut episode of the podcast "Breaking Brad: Cures Unfiltered," host Brad Burnam, founder of Turn Therapeutics, shares the personal story that inspired his work in medical innovation. After a five-year battle with a severe bacterial infection which led to 20+ surgeries over five years, Brad found himself desperate for a solution. He found his solution in Europe, reformulated it in a garage, and brought that solution to the U.S. market.

After successfully developing a formula, he Brad self-funded the process of getting the product tested and FDA-cleared for serious indications like burns, trauma wounds, and diabetic ulcers. He details how he navigated the complex regulatory system for a fraction of the typical cost by doing the work himself, even becoming a regulatory consultant to help fund his work.

The show's purpose, as Brad explains, is to expose the antiquated and sometimes exclusionary system that often prevents medical innovations from reaching patients. He described how he will interview innovators, rebel scientists, experts in the field, even policy experts to highlight why certain cures and products are not yet available in the U.S. He will discuss the red tape and seemingly endless hurdles involved in the medical industry, emphasizing the importance of a transparent and informed conversation about topics like drug pricing, regulations, disease, and cures everyone should know about.

<title>Behind Closed Doors: The Hidden Forces Driving Drug Prices</title>
<description>In this episode of Breaking Brad, Brad and drug pricing expert Alex Gelfand, PharmD, attempt to demystify the opaque worlds of drug pricing and health insurance in the United States. They discuss the chain of custody for a drug—from the manufacturer to the patient who picks it up at the pharmacy—and highlight the many "hands in the pocket" along the way. They discuss the powerful role pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) play in the pricing, as well as insurance companies that own every link of the drug custody chain. They argue for greater transparency and simpler distribution models using examples such as Mark Cuban's Cost Plus Pharmacy.
