      <title>EP 32 - Revolutionary Balraj Bhalla</title>
<description>Revolutionary Balraj Bhalla was born on June 10, 1888 in Gujranwala district of Punjab.
He joined the freedom movement at the young age of seventeen. He was inspired by the ideas and vision of Dadabhai Naoroji, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Romesh Chandra Dutt. He joined the revolutionary movement at a young age. Because of this his university degrees were withdrawn.	He was also an admirer of Lala Lajpat Rai who was very close to his father.
Bhalla was inclined towards revolutionary ideas and worked for armed rebellion against the colonial government. Balraj was very courageous and was ready to take the biggest risk. He believed that there was no harm in killing some representatives of imperialism or looting government banks in order to fulfil the sacred cause of independence. In 1919, Balraj Bhalla was sentenced to three years imprisonment on the charge of throwing a bomb on the Viceroy’s car.
He was one of the prisoners who went on a hunger strike along with Bhagat Singh demanding to be treated as political prisoners. Listen to Azadi ke Deewane with Manni Sharma by Audio Pitara.

      <title>EP 31 - Tavayaf Ya Asli Swatantrata Senani</title>
<description>The word tawaif is used as an abuse nowadays. It was not always like this.
Known as tawaifs in the north, devadasis in the south, baijis in Bengal, and nayikas in Goa, these professional singers and dancers were called “dance girls” during British rule, and in the late 19th century their profession was equated with prostitution. Was added.
In 1857, when Indian soldiers surrounded the British East India Company officials and laid siege to Cawnpore (now Kanpur), a prostitute was also with them. During the encounter, when bullets were being fired all around, at least one eyewitness saw the prostitute armed with a pistol. The fascinating story of Azizunbai finds no mention in history textbooks. Listen to Azadi ke Deewane with Manni Sharma by Audio Pitara.

      <title>EP 30 - Asaf Ali</title>
<description>A husband and wife who both were freedom fighters and remained useful to the country till the end.
In 1928, Aruna got married to Allahabad Congress Party leader Asaf Ali. Asaf Ali was 21 years older than Aruna. When I started meeting Gandhiji after my marriage, he called my marriage a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity. But I resisted him and said that I did not marry Asaf because he was a Muslim. Was an Indian freedom fighter and famous Indian lawyer. He was the first ambassador from India to the United States. He also served as the Governor of Odisha.
On 8 August 1942, when the Congress Party passed the Quit India resolution in its Mumbai session, the British decided to crush it strictly. The result was that all the Congress leaders including Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru were arrested, but this had no effect on the firebrand leader Aruna Asaf Ali who was participating in that session. The next day i.e. on August 9, defying all the restrictions of the British government, he hoisted the tricolour flag of Congress at Gowalia Tank Ground in Mumbai, which is nowadays called ‘Azad Maidan’. After this, instead of being arrested, she went underground.

      <title>EP 29 - Pritilata Vaddedar </title>
<description>Put in the list of ‘most wanted’ revolutionaries. Pritilata was a promising nationalist revolutionary of Bengal. ‘Dogs and Indians are not allowed.’ This was such a blow to the pride of Indians, the pain of which is still visible even today. Then it was the revolutionary Pritilata and her fellow revolutionaries who, taking revenge for the insult, destroyed that club in 1932. That European club was burnt by 21 year old Pritilata; Took poison, didn't get caught. It was the day of 23 September 1932, when Pritilata Waddedar and many other revolutionaries were assigned the responsibility of attacking the Pahartali European Club and destroying it. Under this, Pritilata was made the leader of a group of 40 people. To carry out the mission, Pritilata herself disguised herself as a Punjabi and the rest of her companions wore shirts and lungis. At around 10:45 pm the revolutionaries surrounded the club and set it on fire. One woman and four men also died during this period.Pritilata was injured by the bullet. To avoid being captured by the British, he took a potassium cyanide pill. His sacrifice at the young age of 21 served as an inspiration for other revolutionaries in Bengal. Kalpana Dutta

      <title>EP 27 - Durga Bhabi (Iron Lady of India)</title>
<description>Brave Durga Bhabhi who tricked the British by becoming the wife of Bhagat Singh
Durga Bhabhi is also called the ‘Iron Lady’ of India.
Durga Bhabhi used to open the trunk of the clothes that were sent to the co-revolutionaries in jail and send them messages written in code words.
Durga Bhabhi’s arrest
At 12 noon the police arrested him from his residence. Later, Durga Bhabhi said in an interview, “The police came to arrest me in three lorries. I was taken to Lahore Fort. There SSP Jenkins threatened me and said, “We will get to know everything about you from your colleagues. Already happened. We have all your records.” I immediately replied, “If you have evidence against me, then prosecute me, else leave me.”
After the hanging of many fellow revolutionaries and the martyrdom of her husband, Durga Bhabhi was left completely alone. But he did not lose courage. Worked as a teacher at different places for a few years and then also joined the Congress. Later she continued teaching poor children in Ghaziabad and on 15 October 1999 she said goodbye to the world.

      <title>EP 26 - Thakur Arjun singh (Son of Saharanpur)</title>
<description>Today I will talk about a person who was a freedom fighter born in the land of Saharanpur, who not only happily endured the tortures of the British rule to protect his motherland, but also went to jail several times. The salt law was broken on the call of Thakur Arjun Singh, He was a freedom fighter, a writer, a publicist, the first chairman of Saharanpur district and knowledgeable in many languages.
He was dedicated to the country since childhood and started actively participating in the freedom movement, due to which he went to jail several times and endured torture by the British government.
The first arrest took place in Mora village in March 1930. You all must have read in history that there were many movements under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi to achieve independence. One of them was the Civil Disobedience Movement. In which the issue of salt was made the central issue and plans were made to break the salt law at many places.

After this, Thakur Arjun Singh's case was heard in the jail itself and he was sentenced to one year rigorous imprisonment.
He was released on 4 March 1931 under the Gandhi-Irwin Pact.

<title>EP 23 - Desh ki azadi me Rangmanch ka yogdan hai</title>
<description>From 1868 to 1885 AD, Bharatendu created many plays, acted in many plays himself, built many theatres and tried to establish Hindi theatre. In 1944, late actor Prithviraj Kapoor started Prithvi Theatre.
Staging of street plays was not so easy in slave India.
• Many times actors were arrested,
• Every actor was prepared. They had only one objective – to arouse opposition among the people against British rule.
Safdar Hashmi was murdered while performing street play, his incomplete play was completed by his wife after 48 hours. The name of the play was ‘Halla Bol’.
Only two things are necessary for theatre, the audience and the actor. All other means can be abandoned.”

      <title>EP 20 - Azimullah Khan</title>
<description>Azimullah Khan was more than a military strategist in India's 1857 revolt against British rule. An intellectual fluent in multiple languages, he engaged scholars in discourses. Appointed minister by Nana Sahib, Khan's pension was halted due to adoption issues, prompting him to seek remedy from Queen Victoria. Khan expanded the rebellion's reach, collaborating with leaders like Tatya Tope and Rani Lakshmibai. His newspaper 'Payam-e-Azadi' voiced the uprising, while he used a French typewriter to spread revolutionary literature.
