Appointed two weeks ago following the departure of Igor Tudor, the Italian was unable to change our immediate fortunes as he made his debut as our Head Coach, seeing his new side go down to a narrow 1-0 reverse thanks to a heavily deflected goal from Nordi Mukiele just after the hour mark.

We discuss De Zerbi’s team selection and tactical decisions taken in the game and what he would have learnt ahead of a reunion against his former side Brighton next week.

The panel also debate with only six games remaining and Spurs’ Premier League survival hopes no longer in their hands, whether the players can mentally cope under the pressure and drag us out of this relegation battle as we sit, 18th in the table. Two points below West Ham United in 17th and three points below Nottingham Forest in 16th position. All three teams have six games left to play.

We also touch-upon the refeering display from Rob Jones as Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro were all cautioned by referee Jones in the first-half, meanwhile Brian Brobbey, who swung an arm in the direction of Pedro Porro during a tussle and pushed Cristian Romero into Antonín Kinský which resulted in the keeper having to wear a head bandage for the remainder of the game and Romero in tears as he came off with a suspected medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury, remained on the field unpunished.

Host Ricky Sacks is joined by David Harris, Ian Lubin and TJ Ramini as the third managerial era of the 2025/26 Tottenham Hotspur season is about to commence, as Roberto De Zerbi makes his second Premier League debut on Sunday, away to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

We discuss Roberto De Zerbi's first pre-match press conference in which he boldly states he knows his first mission is to keep Tottenham in the Premier League but believes the club has everything to challenge for the title in the future.

We also reflect on a week which has seen Mohammed Kudus could miss the rest of the season in a major blow to new Tottenham boss Roberto De Zerbi. Kudus has been out since the start of January with a quad injury, but had begun to ease his way back into training before the international break.

Kudus had not missed a single game through injury for West Ham but could potentially miss half of his first season at their north London rivals. It was hoped he would be in contention to face Sunderland this weekend in De Zerbi’s first game in charge. However, Spurs have confirmed that Kudus could be set to undergo surgery, ruling him out of Spurs’ final seven games of the season and casting his World Cup hopes with Ghana into doubt.

We debate the icompetence shown by current Sporting Director Johan Lange in which Spurs had the chance to reinforce their squad in the January transfer window, despite the difficulties involved in that market, but only brought through the door a midfielder in Conor Gallagher and 19-year-old left-back Souza, while selling last season's top scorer Brennan Johnson just days before Kudus first suffered his serious quad injury.

Unfortunately, of the long-term players out when Lange made those comments ahead of the trip to face Manchester United in early February, Kudus, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Rodrigo Bentancur and Ben Davies all remain side-lined two months later and were added to a week after by Wilson Odobert. Therefore once again raising concern over the medical rehabilitation of players.

The panel also reflect news that Tottenham Hotspur are in pole position to sign Andy Robertson as a free agent this summer, subject to retaining their Premier League status and a price has been set for reported goalkeeper target James Trafford.

We finally close on our thoughts of Sunderland, given the fact that The Black Cats are running the risk of losing four straight home league games for the first time since September 2017 in the Championship, and their shoddy Stadium of Light sequence has contributed to their bottom-half ranking in the Premier League table, although they are still within touching distance of seventh-placed Brentford at the time of writing.

The panel discuss the Croatian's exit and react to the news that Tottenham Hotspur want to convince Roberto de Zerbi to become their new permanent head coach. De Zerbi, who is available following his exit from Marseille earlier this season, is a primary target and Spurs, prior to the official announcement of Tudor's departure, tried to ascertain whether the Italian is open to the job.

It's believed Igor Tudor is expected to leave Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent, with the club set to finally move to make a change after weeks of internal discussions. There is understood to be a growing belief among some inside the club that a mutual parting of the ways with Tudor is the likeliest scenario with the 47-year-old then able to focus on family matters, we reflect on the appointment and discuss whether it was always bound for failiure.

We also discuss the possible alternatives that Spurs have to turn too in the final roll of the dice, with Adi' Hutter on the market after leaving Monaco in October last year, there are also other interim options such as Marco Rose or Edin Terzic, who Tottenham were understood to have looked at before gambling on the Croatian Tudor, as we share our concerns that Spurs could also repeat the gamble of appointing yet another foreign head coach with little to no Premier League experience.

Roberto De Zerbi is believed to be open to taking the permanent job, we discuss the concerns if Tottenham were to push ahead with the Italian's appointment and whether Ryan Mason, and also more experienced former Spurs coaches Chris Hughton, Harry Redknapp and Glenn Hoddle should be up for consideration at this late stage.

We also reflect on the news that Sources in Germany believe Sebastien Kehl is in the frame for the vacant Spurs post to work in a multi-sporting director model following the departure of Fabio Paratici. Our fans lined the streets in a magnificent show of support before the game, but following Igor Jesus heading home from a corner at the end of the first half, Tottenham Hotspur failed to recover. Morgan Gibbs-White doubled the visitors' lead just after the hour and substitute Taiwo Awoniyi finished from close range late on.

Igor Tudor did not undertake the post-match media duties as he has just been informed of an immediate family bereavement, we discuss where this result leaves his future and whether Spurs will look to make a managerial change during this break.

The central defender produced a brilliant 90th-minute header from Wilson Odobert's cross to score his third goal in as many games and ensure we didn't leave Turf Moor empty-handed, having found ourselves denied by a string of Martin Dubravka saves and the frame of the goal over the course of the contest. His central defensive partner Micky van de Ven had earlier fired us into a deserved lead, but Burnley fought back with goals from Axel Tuanzebe and Lyle Foster either side of half-time. Without a win in 13 Premier League outings beforehand, the Clarets looked set to cling on despite our heavy pressure for what would have been a famous win - until Romero, much like he did at Newcastle United last month, took matters into his own hands to make it 2-2 at the end. There was still a sense of frustration for the team at full-time, though, having gone close to adding to the scoreline on multiple occasions. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Actors TJ Ramini and Darren Hart along with Luke as another wonderful Champions League night in N17 saw us overcome Borussia Dortmund with goals from Cristian Romero and Dominic Solanke rounding off an excellent performance.

Tuesday’s 2-0 victory guaranteed a top 24 finish in the league phase and a play-off place and, depending on Wednesday night’s results, it’s likely a win at Eintracht Frankfurt next Wednesday will secure a passage straight into the last 16.

Facing a Dortmund side which had only lost once in the Bundesliga all season and were joint top scorers in this season’s Champions League, we were always on top in the contest, even before Daniel Svensson was given a straight red card in the 26th minute.

By that stage, Romero had netted his first Champions League goal for us, while Solanke capped his first start of the season with his first goal of the campaign to put us 2-0 up at the break, a lead we didn’t relinquish.

It extended our run to 24 home European matches without defeat and four home wins without conceding in the league phase this term, while there was a further bright spot with a debut off the bench for 17-year-old Academy product Jun’ai Byfield, becoming Legacy Number 902 in the process.

We also discuss what impact the nature of the result has on under-fire head coach Thomas Frank.

The damage was really done in the first period as goals from Emiliano Buendia and Morgan Rogers, the latter in first-half stoppage time, gave the visitors a commanding lead. Wilson Odobert fired home to reduce the deficit while Villa goalkeeper Marco Bizot made a couple of smart saves to keep his side ahead. In the end though, we couldn’t find that elusive equaliser and exited the tournament at the first hurdle. It was our first home defeat in the FA Cup third round since 1992, when we lost 1-0, also to Aston Villa.

The Welsh defender was on hand in the first half to give us the lead on what was his first start of the season – his first goal since scoring in the 4-2 defeat at Brighton on 28 December, 2023. However, the Black Cats levelled with 10 minutes remaining through Brian Brobbey as we had to settle for a point in an entertaining encounter at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The draw in our opening home match of 2026 took our unbeaten Premier League run against Sunderland to 15 matches and leaves us 13th in the table.

We also discuss the latest developments of Spurs during this summer transfer window, as Tottenham Hotspur have had an £8million ($10.7m) bid for Santos left-back Souza rejected. The Brazilian side have turned down Spurs’ offer for the 19-year-old. Santos are hesitant to accept a bid for the teenager whom they have high hopes for and believe his value may increase in the future.

The 19-year-old midfielder nodded home from close range shortly before half-time at a cold Selhurst Park for the only goal of the game on what was the 112th appearance of his fledgling career and 60th in our colours. We had to weather the storm at times as Palace dominated for much of the game, although we did see two Richarlison goals disallowed for offside and hit the post through Wilson Odobert, but in the end we dug deep and ground out an important result to bring the curtain down on the year.

But we pulled one back through substitute Richarlison, his fifth career goal against Liverpool, and had the visitors on the ropes for the final stages, only to suffer another dismissal when Cristian Romero was sent off for a second yellow and we couldn’t find that equaliser in the closing minutes.

Host Ricky Sacks is joined by returning regular panellists Broadcaster Russ Williams, Actor TJ Ramini and Marlon as Xavi Simons inspired us to a first Premier League win since late October with a goal and an assist as we beat Brentford 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Dutch international produced arguably his best performance in our colours following his August arrival, setting up Richarlison for the opener before scoring his first goal as a Spurs player with a wonderful solo effort, leaving us in control at half-time.

We probably should have won by more as Thomas Frank came up against his former side for the first time, creating a whole host of chances which we didn’t take, while Guglielmo Vicario was only called into action once to keep out Igor Thiago in the first period. It was a first league victory and clean sheet since the 3-0 win at Everton on 26 October and a first home victory in the division since the opening day against Burnley but it was a performance to leave us with plenty of optimism going into the busy festive period and beyond.

Back in the side after serving a one-game suspension on Saturday, the skipper twice cancelled out Newcastle goals as the game exploded into life in the final 20 minutes. The Magpies’ own captain, Bruno Guimaraes, came off the bench to open the scoring with a fine strike before Romero’s diving header drew us level. Then, after a controversial penalty was converted by Anthony Gordon with four minutes left, our Argentine international scored a spectacular equaliser five minutes into injury time to salvage a 2-2 draw.

On-loan Randal Kolo Muani scored twice against his parent club – his first Spurs goals – and Richarlison netted for the third successive game as we took the game to the French champions, but they took control in the second half with Vitinha completing a hat-trick and further goals from Fabian Ruiz and Willian Pacho.

We were level at the break at 1-1, Richarlison and Vitinha scoring for each side, before six goals in a crazy 30-minute spell in the second half moved the home side 5-3 ahead. There was even a red card in stoppage time, Lucas Hernandez seeing red for an elbow into the face of Xavi Simons, but by that stage the points were in the bag for PSG.
