It’s a tense, propulsive, uncomfortable opening scene that picks up where last week’s episode left off, with Jack trying to kill everyone coming after El Coco. He kills Claude’s brother, and it isn’t long before both Andy and Howie are dead when Jack makes a car explode, killing both men. It’s gruesome and shocking, and there’s real dread in the feeling that our heroes are pinned down with little hope to make it out alive.

1947 & Chicken from Heaven - S1 E9

We meet John and George, who get lost in the bear cave in 1947. Yunis and Ralph interview the boy and grandfather who had the encounter with El Cuco. To protect Claude from his own mind and thoughts, Howard takes him on a road trip to Heaven Chicken, while the rest of the group makes plans for El Cuco’s takedown. Seale ruins everything by revealing to Claude what the plan is. Which then activates Jack for defensive action. Alec dies at the hand of Jack’s sniper rifle.

El Cuco attempts capture of another child, but it goes awry.

Jeannie receives 2 visits by the hooded man, both leaving her very shaken, especially since the second involved a direct threat to her and her husband. Holly gets closer to Detective Andy. Jack begins to spy on Ralph, Howard, and Yunis, clearly as a result of whatever is afflicting him. We are introduced to another man in Dayton who is suffering from the same issue as Jack.

Are people "catching" murder? - S1 E4

Holly continues to investigate further into the nurse (Heath) that killed himself in prison after being accused of murdering the two little girls in Dayton. After convincing the receptionist at the nursing home that she is not a reporter, Holly discovers that the situations between Heath and Terry Maitland are eerily similar. She later agrees to go to dinner with ex-cop Andy and he tells her that both the victim and perpetrator's families have almost all died. Andy calls it a "plague."A bartender gives Holly advice and asks if murder was a virus, the best route to take is to find patient zero. This leads Holly on an investigation where she discovers that Heath met a woman on a trip to New York that has since been arrested of another slain child, but she still alive. Holly goes to visit Maria in prison, but she denies ever having relations with Heath, which was a blatant lie. An onlooker of their conversation leaves a note for Holly, that leads her on a new path in investigating the demon El Cuco.

"Dark Uncle" Season 1 Episode 3 'The Outsider' Review & Recap

Ralph Anderson continues his investigation into Terry Maitland's case and enlists the help of Private Investigator, Holly Gibney. Detective Jack Hoskins visits a local strip club before heading to the barn where they clothes Terry wore the night the Patterson boy was killed were found. He was attacked from behind by the hooded figure and painful sores are left on the back of his neck. GBI Detective Yunis Salbo meets with Ralph and says that Terry's fingerprints were found on the belt buckle, but some of the prints are degraded and seem like they were left by the 90-year-old version of Terry. Jessa Maitland is still being visited by the mysterious man at night and tells Anderson that he needs to stop looking into her dad's case. Holly's confusion over the case intensifies after her visit to Terry's dad's nursing home leads to her discovery that one of the workers was arrested for killing two young girls around the same time that the Maitland family was in Dayton. At the end of the episode the main kills himself before letting another prisoner do it. And the mystery behind this story thickens!

In the outstanding premiere of The Outsider, we were introduced to Detective Ralph Anderson after the body of an 11 year old boy is found in the woods. A suspect quickly emerges, however we soon learn that what seems to be an open/shut case, becomes an ultimate mystery....as the suspect, Terry Maitland, could not have been in 2 places at once.
In episode 2, Ralph digs further into the conflicting physical evidence. Another tragedy strikes and changes the investigation completely. We meet the other detective, Jack,and learn that the white van seems to be following The Maitlands.....
