Head Coach Kevin Brooks | Angelo State University

Kevin Brooks has guided the Angelo State baseball program to six NCAA Division II College World Series appearances with six South Central Championships and has compiled an impressive 742-333 overall record since starting the ASU program in 2005. The only coach in ASU baseball history, he has recorded 10 trips to the NCAA postseason.

Following the opportunity with the Royals, Joseph was an assistant coach for the Covington Lumberjacks of the Valley League where he helped them to a playoff appearance. During the same time, he worked on coaching many players who ended up signing professional baseball contracts.

At just 27 years old, Austin Szemacs crossed one major item off his bucket list.

The Streetsboro graduate was recently named baseball coach at Bryant & Stratton College in Solon.

Szemacs is quick to dole out credit for his quick rise, including to longtime Rockets baseball coach Chris Scisciani, who he said helped inspire him to become a coach.

Szemacs also notes how Jake Plata, his predecessor at Bryant & Stratton, and Ben Simon helped push his coaching career along since he graduated from Malone University.

“Playing for Coach Scisciani was the big start for me wanting to pursue this after high school and after college,” Szemacs said. “Then between Jake and Ben, my career has taken off because of those people, and I give a lot of credit to them and the selflessness that they had. They didn't have to do what they did. and all that kind of stuff just is the reason my career is kind of taking off the way it has.”

The Boston Red Sox drafted Frank Rodriguez out of high school with their 2nd round pick in the 1990 amateur draft, but he elected to go to junior college in 1991. Rodriguez led the JUCO ranks in home runs (26) and pitching strikeouts (139), and was named MVP of the Junior College World Series, when Howard College beat Manatee Community College in the title game. The Red Sox signed him nine hours before they would lose his rights and he would enter the 1991 amateur draft. Boston promised to let him start his career as a shortstop.

Rodriguez's other 1991 major career highlights include being named college player of the year by Baseball America; being the Texas state regional tournament MVP; being named MVP of Howard College's baseball team; receiving an invitation for the Team USA Pre-Olympic tryouts; establishing new records for victories and strikeouts in a single season; establishing new records for home runs and RBI's at Howard College; leading the nation in homers with 26 and RBI's with 90; being nominated for the Dick Howser Trophy.

Coaches Journey | Head Coach Ben Jones - The Apprentice School

Ben Jones was named Head Baseball Coach December 17, 2021, after the retirment of Hall of Fame Coach Bryan Cave. Jones, a native of Lawrenceville, VA, graduated as an outside machinist apprentice and played baseball for The Apprentice School from 2003 to 2006. During Jones’ career, he was named a three time USCAA All-American. He is the winningest pitcher in the modern era of Apprentice School baseball with 39 wins and a Virginia College Division record of 501 strikeouts. Jones was selected to the 2006 USCAA National All-Academic Team and the CoSIDA Academic All-District. He was also selected VaSID All-State Division II-III in 2004 and 2006 and was honored as Apprentice School Athlete of the Year in 2006 when he went 13-3 with 166 strikeouts.

After his playing career, Jones joined the Apprentice School coaching staff as a pitching coach in 2007. Jones was a part of the Builder baseball team that won the USCAA Small College World Series in 2007 and 2015. Ben Jones was selected to the USCAA Hall of Fame – Class of 2018. He is starting his 16th season as a coach.

In 2020, Jones was inducted into The Apprentice School Builder Athletic Hall of Fame. He is a member of the Builder wing, which recognizes outstanding accomplishments of former apprentice-athletes and coaches during the timeframe of 1990-current.

Landon Hutchison is entering his third season as the head coach of the Storm baseball program in 2024.
Hutchison, a Baltimore, Ohio native took over the Storm baseball program after serving as the pitching coach of the UIndy Greyhounds of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) from 2018-2021. Hutchison helped lead the Greyhounds pitching staff to the 2020-21 GLVC semifinals and the number two seed in the division.

As a team, the Greyhounds pitching rotation combined for a 5.26 ERA, 343 strikeouts, and a 23-21 record in 2021. Additionally to his pitching coach duties, Hutchison was in charge of player development and players' mental development.

Coaches Journey | Coach Cannon - Gannon University

n his inaugural season, Cannon led Gannon to a 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division regular-season title, a 29-17 overall record, and Gannon’s second appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament in the past three seasons. (There was not an NCAA tournament in 2020).

After Gannon hired him as the head coach on August 6, 2021, Cannon guided the Golden Knights to a 20-8 record in the PSAC, which led the PSAC West and gave Gannon the West’s top seed going into the PSAC Tournament. The Knights lost in the first round of the tournament but still landed a berth in the NCAA Tournament and claimed the No. 3 seed in the Atlantic Regional.

Under Cannon’s watch, three Gannon players earned PSAC West All-Star status: pitchers Eric Sapp and Deven Judy, and infielder Ian Hess. Sapp was named PSAC West Pitcher of the Year and went on to earn Atlantic Region and All-America honors.

Rush comes to Chatham after a successful three-year career at Washington and Jefferson College, in which he helped lead the team to a 2019 NCAA Division III World Series and a #2 national ranking in 2021.

Loren Torres enters his 14th year as Point Park University baseball head coach for the upcoming 2023 season. He was hired in July 2009. Point Park baseball, which is tied for fifth all-time with 11 appearances in the NAIA World Series, has made its return to national relevance under coach Torres.

Coach Torres has a career record of 558-305 (.646) entering the 2023 season. In the first 13 seasons at Point Park, coach Torres has compiled a record of 451-201 (.692). He has averaged 35 wins per season at Point Park and 31 wins per year over his 18-year career, all in the NAIA. He was the head coach at Judson (Ill.) University for five years previously.

Torres became Point Park's all-time wins leader for baseball head-coaching victories on April 26, 2022. When he picked up his 444th win at Point Park, he passed the legendary Pioneers' coach Mark Jackson, who was 443-196 (.695) in 12 seasons and led the Pioneers two six NAIA World Series appearances.

Point Park has won six conference championships and been to six NAIA national tournaments during Torres' 13 years at the school. That includes a trip to the NAIA World Series in 2012, where the Pioneers finished fifth. Point Park has finished the season ranked in the NAIA Top 25 final poll seven times under Torres -- 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2018, 2021 and 2022.

BioMadison native Scott DeLoach is in his second season as head baseball coach at Holmes Community College. DeLoach, who was an All-State selection and state champion at Madison Central, was a standout catcher for the Mississippi State University Bulldogs and the Itawamba Community College Indians. He will bring nine years of coaching experience to a history-rich baseball program at Holmes Community College. He got into coaching in June 2011 as a volunteer coach at Millsaps College. He remained in that position until September 2013 when he became assistant coach at East Central Community College in Decatur before returning back to Millsaps as assistant coach in July 2014 under Head Coach Jim Page. Along with coaching at Millsaps, he was highly involved in evaluating and recruiting players; scheduled practices and team meetings; assisted in fundraising; coordinated travel; oversaw the baseball budget; managed the federal work study program; coordinated alumni/donor relations; served as a member of the enrollment management committee; served as director of gameday operations; and helped coordinate summer baseball camps for elementary and high school kids each year. At Millsaps, DeLoach coached six All-Americans; 10 members of the All-South Region team; one All-South Region Players of the Year; 49 All-Conference players; and one Conference Player of the Year. Millsaps won the SAA regular season and tournament championship in 2013; NCAA Regional appearances in 2012 and 2013; and the NCAA Division III World Series in 2013.

Entering his 10th season at the helm of the Meridian Community College baseball program, Dillon Sudduth has continued the proud tradition of Eagle baseball. MCC has remained one of the MACCC’s premier programs, earning postseason berths and consistently finishing at the top of MACCC standings with an overall MACCC winning percentage of 74% as head coach. The 2021 season saw the Eagles finish as MACCC runner up and finishing ranked number 5 nationally in the country. With 254 wins over the course of his 8 seasons, the Eagles have been a model of consistency averaging 32 wins a year during Sudduth’s tenure. During his 14 years coaching at MCC, the Eagles have one Region 23 championship; have finished Region 23 runner up three times, and added an MACCC Tournament championship. Named head coach of the Meridian CC baseball program at the age of 26, Sudduth began his career serving as MCC’s top assistant for five years before being promoted to the head job. The Eagles’ success under Sudduth has garnered national recognition for MCC, having been nationally ranked every season and reaching as high as #2 in the country while remaining nationally ranked for the entirety of the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Vinny Gallo enters his seventh season as head baseball coach at his alma mater in 2022-23.

Gallo led Brandywine back to the PSUAC Tournament for the fifth-straight year, while winning 19 games in 2022. The Lions, who finished third in the conference tournament, featured four USCAA All-Americans.

Brandywine reached new heights during the 2021 season, earning a USCAA Small College World Series bid for the first time. The Lions defeated Wright State-Lake in the national tournament and placed in a tie for fifth overall. During the regular season, Brandywine won the PSUAC East Division for the third time in four years under Gallo and claimed third place the conference tournament in DuBois. Highlighting Brandywine's postseason awards was freshman Tyler Brooks, who was named First Team All-American and PSUAC Newcomer of the Year. Brooks became the team's first-ever rookie to earn First Team All-American accolades.

Prior to the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, Gallo led Brandywine to the postseason for the third consecutive year as the Lions finished third in the PSUAC Tournament and a second-straight 20-win season in 2019. The Lions featured five all-conference standouts, including senior pitcher Tyler Michaels, who earned all-American accolades.

Coaches Journey - Dan Rives - Hinds Community College

Dan Rives was hired as the head baseball coach at Hinds Community College on April 19, 2021. He succeeds Sam Temple, who spent 16 seasons as the head man at Hinds, with Rives assisting Temple from 2006-2016.

Rives was fresh off a one-year stint as athletic director and sports information director at Mississippi Delta Community College and a four-year role as the head baseball coach for the Trojans from 2017-2020.

While in Moorhead, Rives and his staff helped over 40 Trojans move on to the four-year collegiate level, including 16 to the Division I ranks.
Rives, who played at MDCC in 2003 under the legendary Terry Thompson, came back to the Delta after an 11-year stint (2006-2016) at Hinds Community College, where he served as the Eagles recruiting coordinator, worked with the Eagles infielders and headed up the HCC strength and conditioning program.

Tom Cantrell is returning for his 24th season at the helm of the University of North Georgia baseball program. Since relaunching the baseball program from the ground up in 2000, Cantrell has had much success sporting a record of 793-472 (.626). In his 24 seasons at North Georgia, Cantrell’s clubs have won at least 30 games an impressive 19 times, including each of the last seven complete seasons, and amassed 40 or more wins six times, including a program best 57 wins in 2005. In that span, North Georgia has won 10 separate championships with the most recent being the 2019 Peach Belt Conference Regular Season Championship, the program’s third Peach Belt regular season championship in the last six years.

Thompson guided the Hoyas into a historic 2022 season that featured the program's first BIG EAST Baseball Championship appearance since 2018, the first BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Owen Carapellotti and the first BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the year following a six-win campaign in 2021. Three Hoyas earned all-conference recognition with Nolan McCarthy earning a unanimous selection to the league's first team while Ethan Stern and Jake Hyde also picked up ABCA / Rawlings All-East Region Team honors on top of their respective first and second team All-BIG EAST selections. Thompson's 2022 team broke the program records for wins (32), home runs (98), total bases (925) and end of season RPI (137) while setting second-best marks in win percentage (.571), runs (400), RBIs (367) and slugging percentage (.480). He also mentored new single-season home run leaders Hyde (19) and Ubaldo Lopez (19) as well as freshman Carapellotti, who garnered Second Team All-America status by D1Baseball.com in his first season with the Hoyas.

Jacob Tobin - Assistant Coach, BMCC (Borough of Manhattan Community College)

Tobin was born and raised in the Greenwich Village Section of New York City. Tobin has served in many roles in scholastic and collegiate sports. He began his coaching career in the Hamptons League as a volunteer assistant for the Sag Harbor Whalers. Since then, he has served as an assistant coach for St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, University of Connecticut Avery Point and Saint Peter's College.

Currently Tobin is the head coach of the Sag Harbor Whalers of the Hamptons League. During his first year as Manager of the Sag Harbor Whalers, the Whalers won the first Hamptons Championship since 2006. Whalers' teams have included drafted players and current major leaguers. In conjunction with the Syracuse Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics, Tobin founded a baseball analytics team of interns to collect, analyze, and distribute graph's charts and reports to players and coaches.

Besides coaching, Coach Tobin has created @buncommitted on Twitter and has amassed over 40K followers. His main objective is to help players get noticed. We have a lot in common!

Nicholaus Strong - Head Coach, Florida National University

Nick Strong comes to Florida National from Wiley College where he was instrumental in bringing in the largest recruiting class in program history. Through the recruiting trail, Strong helped bring in over 45 student-athletes to the Wildcat program. For the fall season, he was the Pitching Coach & Recruiting Coordinator. During the summer, Coach Strong coached in the Nationally Ranked Summer program Houston Banditos organization.

Before Wiley College, he was the head coach of the University of Houston-Downtown team and led it to its first conference title and the National Club Baseball Association Division II Regional Title game in his 1st season of NCBA play. His team finished ranked No. 14 in the nation and coached one All-American in Gino Masini. He coached the NCBA Division II hits and RBI leaders Luis Salazar and Masini, respectively.

Wood, who was the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at St. Edward's University for 10 years, provides a wealth of knowledge and experience for the UST Baseball program. While at St. Edward's, he played an integral role in the Hilltoppers' success, which featured six Heartland Conference Championships, One South-Central Regional Championship, Seven NCAA Regional appearances, and a third place finish in the 2013 NCAA DII World Series.

Brooks Repking - Head Coach, Crown College

Brian August - Head Coach, Wilmington University

Brian August begins his 18th year as head coach of the Wildcats in 2022. A graduate of the University of Delaware, where he was a standout baseball player, August was the assistant baseball coach, assistant athletic director, and building and grounds supervisor at Cecil County Community College prior to coming to Wilmington University.

In 2019, he led a resurgent Wilmington team to a 40-18 overall record, their most wins since the 2013 season. They won the CACC Tournament for the second year in a row, now totaling eight CACC Tournament Championships since 2007. The team advanced to the NCAA East Region 1 Tournament, coming back to play in the Championship round against NYIT.

The Wildcats became the first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference baseball team to ever win the NCAA Division II East Regional Tournament and advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships in 2015. August led the Wildcats to a 37-15 overall record in 2015, beating 20th ranked Southern New Hampshire, Stonehill, No. 1/3 Franklin Pierce, and St. Thomas Aquinas to capture their first ever regional championship.

Calliari has coached at every collegiate level, after playing college baseball at DII Lock Haven University. He started his coaching career in 1996 as an assistant at DI Penn State University where his responsibilities included hitters/infielders and gameday promotions. In his first 4 years with the baseball program, PSD Baseball won 4 regular season titles, 2 Conference tournament titles, and back-to-back USCAA National Championships. His 4-year record starting from scratch is 110-51. Coach Tom Calliari has received "Coach of the Year" award 4 straight seasons from the PSUAC.

Coach 'Razz' - Head Coach, St. Bonaventure University

Jason Rathbun enters his first season as Bonnies Baseball head coach in 2023 after an incredible run at the junior college level.

Rathbun turned Herkimer Community College baseball into one of the most successful and consistent junior college programs in the country during his 17 years at the helm, moving to Bona's after winning the 2022 national championship.

In Rathbun's time at Herkimer, he guided the Generals to a 556-180 overall record while averaging over 30 wins per season.

Rathbun's squads were nationally ranked in 16 out of his 17 seasons in charge and made eight trips to the NJCAA World Series. His teams enjoyed unprecedented success in the region, winning 15 conference championships and advanced to the regional final 12 times. He also led 75 All-Region players, 25 All-Americans and a trio of Major League Baseball Draft selections.

Three of Rathbun's Herkimer teams finished third nationally in the NJCAA World Series before his crowning achievement this past June when the Generals captured their first national title.

Herkimer won this year's national championship in convincing fashion, outscoring teams by a 37-14 margin in the World Series. Rathbun was named Coach of the National Tournament following the championship victory.

Bryan Torresani - Head Coach, Arcadia University

Bryan Torresani enters his seventh season as the Head Baseball Coach at Arcadia in 2023.

In six seasons, Torresani holds an overall record of 155-74 (.677) and a conference record of 81-31 (.723). Torresani's 155 wins currently rank second on the program's all-time wins list.

Torresani's teams have reached the conference tournament every season, including winning the conference in 2017, 2018, and 2022. The team advanced to the NCAA Division III Regional each year, including hosting the Glenside Regional and advancing to the Regional Final in 2022.

Torresani has been named the Conference Coach of the Year twice, in 2017 and 2022. He has also coached four Conference Player/Pitcher of the Year, 26 All-Conference selections, 15 American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region selections and 11 D3Baseball.com All-Region honorees.

Rob Hardy - Asst. Coach, Rice University

Rob Hardy was named Rice Baseball's Director of Player Development in December of 2021 and then joined Jose Cruz Jr.'s staff in 2022 as an assistant coach.

Hardy came to Rice from Siena College in Albany, New York where he served as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator since 2020. Siena's pitching staff was a key factor in the Saints reaching the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference tournament for the first time since 2017. He led a data-driven approach to develop the pitching staff which included tools such as Rapsodo, Trackman and Synergy. Under Hardy's direction, the Saints saw two pitchers named All-Conference in John Lumpinski and Connor Bovair.

Bruce Cameron - Assoc. Head Coach, Shenandoah University

Baltimore native Bruce Cameron returns for his 14th season as the top assistant on Kevin Anderson's staff. Cameron came to Shenandoah University in July 2008 after spending 11 years as an assistant coach at West Virginia University.

He was promoted to associate head coach in August, 2019.

The final nine years of his experience in Morgantown came as the Mountaineers top assistant. During that 11-year span, Cameron helped WVU to three seasons of at least 36 victories and Big East Tournament berths in 1998, 2003, 2006 and 2008. As the squad's outfielders coach, Cameron saw 13 players at that position earn All-Big East honors.

Additionally, Cameron has experience as head coach in both the Coastal Plain and Atlantic Collegiate summer baseball leagues.

With Cameron's addition to the staff, he and Anderson combine to have more than 25 years of NCAA Division I coaching and playing experience.

Prior to coming to West Virginia, Cameron was the head coach at Catonsville (Md.) Community College and served as an assistant at both Catonsville and in the high school ranks.

In his coaching career, over 50 of his players have either been drafted or signed professional baseball contracts.

Ryan Wheeler - Associate Head Coach, Saint Joseph University

A well-respected figure around the game, Wheeler has been recognized by his peers as the top recruiting coordinator in the Atlantic 10 in a survey conducted by D1Baseball.com. The Hawks have appeared in two Atlantic 10 postseasons during his time in the Crimson and Gray, winning 20 games or more in each of his full seasons at SJU.

While working with the Hawk hitters, Wheeler has helped guide a number of players to success, including 2017 MLB fifth-round draft pick Deon Stafford, Jr., who set a single-season program record with 18 home runs on the way to Atlantic 10 Player of the Year honors in 2016, and current Hawk backstop Andrew Cossetti, whose 16 home runs in 2021 rank second on the all-time single-season list.

Before coming to Hawk Hill, Wheeler spent the previous three seasons as the head coach at Temple. Prior to his stint with the Owls, he spent five years as an assistant in the Atlantic 10 with the University of Richmond.

Nathan Bacon - Head Coach, Dordt University

Coach Bacon is a 2012 graduate of Avila University in Missouri where he finished his playing career with a 20-6 pitching record, was a two-time all-conference honoree, and was inducted into the Avila University Sports Hall of Fame in 2017 with the 2012 team. Bacon holds a bachelor’s degree from Avila University and a master’s degree from the University of Missouri.

Scott Bickel - Head Coach, IUPUC (Indiana University - Purdue University Columbus)

Scott Bickel was named head baseball coach to lead the Crimson Pride in their inaugural season in the Spring of 2023. Bickel is a former Indiana All-State Pitcher from Huntington, Indiana. He went on to play collegiately for the University of Saint Francis (IN). In 2011, he graduated with a degree in Secondary Education for Mathematics and Mild Intervention. In December of 2021, he earned his Master's degree from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA in Athletic Administration and Coaching.

Danny Acosta - Head Coach, Iowa Lakes Community College

The 2023 baseball season will be Coach Bennett’s 21st season at the helm. His overall record at FCC is 719-286. On April 6th, 2022, Bennett reached a significant coaching milestone as he earned his 700th career win. On May 5, 2022, Bennett coached his 1000th game as a Head Coach in the college ranks.

Coach Bennett has led the Cougars to the Region XX Tournament 19 times, including 12 trips to the championship game and five trips to the NJCAA Division II World Series in 2007, 2010, 2015, 2021, and 2022.

227 former players have moved on to four-year institutions under Bennett’s tutelage.

John Poss - Head Coach, Wilson College

John Poss enters his fifth season as the head coach of the baseball program in 2022.

Poss brings an extensive baseball background to Wilson, both as a professional player and as a successful coach. Since 2012, he has led the St. Mary’s Catholic High School program in Annapolis, Maryland to a 123-28 record while grooming 22 student-athletes that would go on to compete at the collegiate level. Prior to taking over the program at St. Mary’s Catholic, Poss served as an assistant coach at his high school alma mater DeMatha Catholic, where he helped lead the powerhouse program to two Maryland State Private School championships.

After a successful collegiate career for NCAA Division 1 programs at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and Winthrop University, Poss enjoyed a professional playing career in the Frontier and Atlantic Leagues as well as a stint in the Baltimore Orioles organization in 2000.

Deron "Doc" Neiman enters his third year as head baseball coach in 2022. He previously served as the interim head coach during the 2020 season after having spent the previous year as a volunteer assistant coach.

Prior to coming to Clarion, Neiman spent time at Erskine College where he served as a Volunteer Assistant Coach, Head Junior Varsity Coach and Camp Coordinator, while also instructing catchers and hitters. During his time at Erskine, Neiman coached two post season award winners. Doc saw one player receive first team All Conference Carolinas honors and one second team honoree.

Prior to coaching at Erskine, Neiman spent three seasons coaching at DeSales University in Pennsylvania. While at DeSales, Doc worked under his Dad, head skipper Tim Neiman.

CJ Mooney was selected to be the MCC Head Baseball Coach prior to the start of the 2014 Baseball Season. The 2022 season was a historic one for the Middlesex College Baseball team as five single season program records were broken, including the record for most wins in a season. The 2022 Colts won 37 games, six more than the previous record of 31 which had stood for over 20 years. The Colts earned a trip to the Region XIX Tournament in 2022 and Coach Mooney was voted by his colleagues as the recipient of the inaugural Middlesex College Coach of the Year.

Robert Cooper - Head Coach, Penn State (We are...PENN STATE)

The 2023 baseball season is Rob Cooper’s 10th as head coach of the Nittany Lion baseball program. Cooper was selected as the 14th head baseball coach in Penn State history on August 9, 2013. Not shy about stating his ultimate goal of returning Penn State to Omaha in June, the Lions have made significant strides under his leadership.

Under his tutelage, 12 players have been drafted and 13 total have signed with MLB teams in the last five seasons with a full draft. However, his strong belief in the first part of the term “student-athlete” is perhaps the top reason he has proven to be an excellent fit at Penn State. Even with state-of-the-art facilities, the chance to take on elite competition and a program history that includes five trips to the College World Series, Cooper cites the value of a Penn State degree as one of the top reasons to play baseball at Penn State.

Alex Guerra - Head Coach, Radford University

Alex Guerra is Radford Baseball's seventh head coach in program history. In his seven years on Marlin Ikenberry's staff at JMU, Guerra guided the Dukes through a complete rebuild which saw them produce strong results on the diamond and a long list of standout players. Most recently, Guerra helped the 2022 JMU squad to a 27-26 overall record with 12 wins in the Colonial Athletic Association, their most conference wins since 2016. Seven Dukes earned all-conference honors and the team posted a .971 fielding percentage that stands as the second-highest in program history.

Notable players coached by Guerra include Chase DeLauter, who was drafted in the first round of the 2022 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Guardians, as well as Nick Zona, a 20th round selection by the Seattle Mariners in the same draft. Kevin Kelly and Fox Semones – a pair of Collegiate Baseball Freshmen All-Americans - were also coached by Guerra.

Stu Fritz - Head Coach, Hope College

Since 1994, Hope College has won nine Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championships and appeared in the NCAA Division III tournament four times under coach Stu Fritz.

He has guided the Flying Dutchmen to MIAA Championships in 1994, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2006, 2007 and 2013. The nine league championships places Stuart in a tie for the most MIAA baseball titles by a coach, sharing the honor with Frank Joranko of Albion and Craig Rainey of Adrian. The Flying Dutchmen have appeared in the NCAA Division III championships in 1998, 2001, 2003 and 2007.

Stuart's collegiate coaching record through the 2015 regular season is 480-353-2. His teams have won more than two-thirds of their MIAA conference games (344-180, .656). He is also an assistant professor of kinesiology.

Stuart was elected as the 4th Vice President for the ABCA beginning in 2016. Previously he had chaired Division 3 for the ABCA.

Not only was Posey on-hand for the rebuilding of the EMU baseball program that happened under Spotts, he played an active role. Posey was a senior on the 2014 team, helping to lead the Royals to just their third 20-win season in program history. Then in 2015, in his first season on the coaching staff, EMU tied the program record with 10 ODAC wins and broke a 12-year drought with a trip to the ODAC Tournament.

Cory Beddick - Head Coach, Gettysburg College

Cory Beddick named Gettysburg College's next head baseball coach, in July, 2022.

Beddick becomes just the sixth skipper to lead the Bullets' baseball program since 1913, returning to his alma mater to take over the program in which he played under John Campo. Campo retired at the end of the season after 36 years as head coach.

"I am excited to welcome Cory back to Gettysburg," Mattia said. "It was obvious through the interview process the passion and dedication that he has for Gettysburg Baseball. Eric Folmar - Head Coach, Kutztown University

Eric Folmar will enter his third season as head coach in 2022

In his first full season in spring of 2021, Folmar guided the Golden Bears to 17 wins overall and 11 in the PSAC, the most since 2018. KU also had its first All-PSAC selections since that year, as Collin Bishop earned First Team and Gavin Moretski was tabbed Second Team.

In a shortened first season at the helm in 2020, Folmar led the Golden Bears to a 7-4 overall record, the program's first winning record to end a season since 2014.

With nearly two decades of coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level, Folmar has paid his dues. Now, he’s getting the opportunity to lead a program for the first time.

Folmar, a native of Chambersburg, Pa., most recently spent three seasons as associate head coach at the University of Louisiana Monroe from 2015-17. He was responsible for working with the Warhawks' hitters and infielders on the field and took a lead role in many aspects of the program.

Zingers Bio - Jon (aka "Zinger") is originally from Moline, Michigan where he played with the Grand Rapids A's travel team during high school, a team that made it to the Connie Mack World Series in 1998. He played at the collegiate D1 level for the Michigan State Spartans from 1999 to 2002. After school, Jon was undrafted, but continued to play professionally for 12 years and 14 seasons including Winterball. Jon began coaching part time in 2002 and has since coached at the professional, college and high school levels. He started the Backyard Baseball Lab in 2011 which has become the Fuel Factory. Jay's Bio - Born and raised in San Diego, I have had the privilege to play baseball, year around, since the age of 4. Playing the game was great, but now having the opportunity to coach and train young players is where my passion lies today. Playing the game of baseball presented me with multiple scholarship offers to colleges like Texas Southern University, Ottawa University and others. I decided to attend Arizona State University, had an opportunity to walk on to the baseball team, but was instructed to play on their club baseball team for the next two years. That led me to the decision to hang up the cleats and focus on my studies. I graduated with a BA in Social and Behavioral Science in 2015, and since then I have moved back to San Diego, started coaching baseball again, and completed my Masters of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Development. Being away from playing I have been more of a student of the game of baseball, than ever before. I have an excitement for teaching young players tools and skills that I wish I had growing up. As a player development trainer for the San Diego Stars Baseball Academy, my aim is to continue to branch out to other players as well. To help them develop skills and knowledge of the game, that they may not learn from their neighborhood little league, local high school, and even college. The goal is to assist with their advancement as a ball player, improve their skills and increase their confidence.
