In the desert together again! Lots of time … Learned a Lot … Lost a Lot! Desert hint of storm v East Coast Storms!!

Episode Thirty of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast takes a look at the duality of our new realities. From mass gatherings to people vacationing to weekend partying, it hints of everything back to normal. And while the questions are complicated, the answer is not. You’ll have to find your own way. Rick and Sharon are right there with you on their own journeys.
And sticking to the theme of duality, Rick shares a beautiful new song and then discusses how his latest musical project sounds like what he hears on the inside in a fascinating look at his creative process. Sharon shares a new piece with an art interlude and explains why she’s embracing symbolism and how it is reflected in her latest works.
Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast is an inspiring and fun break from the news and whatever else might be stressing you out. Our favorite Mom & Son in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. Episode Thirty is like another big hug from your mom, your best friend, or your cat.
The last year has been a wild ride, and it’s not over. This pod will help you recover from it and move forward. And in a brash and loud pandemic world of stress and chaos, Everybody is like a warm dose of nice and lovely content. It’ll soothe your soul--and leave you feeling better than when you started. It’s a pod with heart. And, as with every Righteous Media production, it’ll bring you the 5 I’s: Independence, Integrity, Information, Inspiration and Impact.
Everybody and Your Mother Has a Podcast. But this one will quickly become one of your favorites. Call your MOTHER !

Too Busy for What? Talking Trees. Rules for Rhyming Are Made to Be Broken. The Tedious Side of Making Music. Dune Review.

Episode Twenty Nine of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast is a wild ride. From the changes of Mercury’s orbit, to the fantasy world of Frank Herbert’s Dune, to discussions about the different ways trees talk to each other, you better hold onto your hat. We’ve also got a most fortunate update and look behind-the-scenes as Rick puts the finishing touches on one of his many music projects. It’s a great episode and it’s all possible because of the wonderful support we receive from the Metal Nailclipper Marketing Association of North America. Or is it?

Episode Twenty Eight of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast returns to where it all started as Rick and Sharon return to the desert. It’s a nice break from the city and a welcome calm to the turbulent times that never seem to end. Rick shares what it’s like to see a real road runner and then Sharon tells us about her exciting encounter with an exotic lizard. And speaking of meeting new things, hold onto your hats. Sharon shares a hilarious story about her husband Joel’s experience with a Japanese toilet. It’s an eye opener. At least at 2 am it is.

REWIND: Cats From the 90s. Three-ish Life Lessons. Time Slip. Pandemic Babies. Sharon Invents Zoom. Zappa.

This episode was so nice we're dropping it twice. Take a trip down memory lane and revisit this favorite.
Is time moving slower in the pandemic? Can your computer see inside your house? What are Sharon’s three lessons every young man should know? How many cats did she really have in her house? Are those bats outside the house or sprinklers? Why does Sharon walk backwards? How was Passover in the pandemic? What’s for dinner? What will babies born in the pandemic be like when they grow up? Ahhhh, the weather in America is heating up, and Rick and Sharon are just getting started.
Another warm and fun episode of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast is here. As an added bonus this week, Rick drops his new track I Just Found a Tape. It’s a nostalgic look back at the 90s, Rick’s cats and other randomly delicious stuff from the greatest decade ever. Our favorite son and mom in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. And Episode Two is another warm cup of cocoa with your mom or best friend or multiple cats.
Rick is a little bit of everybody. He’s Santa Monica-based Music Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist, Creative Strategist, Plant-based Chef and Co-host of Everybody. He’s spent time on Madison Avenue and in the center of Hollywood, where he created and contributed to many of the now-common global digital advertising and talent practices. He also executive produced the star-studded, get-out-the-vote event ‘Telethon for America’, has performed at the world-famous Hollywood Improv, and has been in about a million bands you’ve never heard of and has a forthcoming plant-based cookbook. And now, he has a podcast with his mom.
Sharon Koppelman is Rick’s amazing mom--and one of the best moms you’ll ever meet. She’s also an artist, career educator and the wise and learned life coach you wish you had. Sharon’s guiding philosophy is that everyone benefits personally by contributing to their household and their community, and therefore should be supported to do so regardless of ability level. She’s intelligent, kind and caring--and now, she has a podcast with her son.
The last year has been a rough ride. This pod will help you recover from it. In a brash and loud world of arguing and chaos, Everybody is like a warm bath of nice and lovely content. It’ll soothe your soul--and leave you feeling better than when you started. And, as with every Righteous Media production, it’ll bring you the 5 I’s: independence, integrity, information, inspiration and impact.

Episode Twenty Four of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast takes us full circle this episode, or does it? Is it deja vu? Would we even know if it was? There’s plenty of heavy questions all around, and maybe this is the place you needed to go for a new perspective. Or maybe it’s just the place you needed to go to for a little good advice. A little boost to help you get through it.

Episode Twenty-Three of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast is another return to the ‘New Now Normal’, where sometimes-functioning tech keeps us in touch, entertained and semi-sane. And with great tech comes great tech questions, like “When is it OK to delete a contact?” and “Is Tik Tok better than Instagram?” (spoiler: most certainly, not even close). You’ve got questions, we’ve got ideas. If you’re looking for productivity advice, Rick goes high level with post-it notes and shares how he manages to simultaneously produce 7 albums at once. It’s an analog plan for our crazy digital times.

Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast is an inspiring and fun break from the news and whatever else might be stressing you out. Our favorite Mom and Son in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. Episode Twenty Three is like another big hug from your mom, your best friend, your cat, or your Rabbi.
The last year has been a wild ride, and it’s not over. This pod will help you recover from it and move forward. And in a brash and loud pandemic world of stress and chaos, Everybody is like a warm vaccine of nice and lovely content. It’ll soothe your soul--and leave you feeling better than when you started. It’s a pod with real heart. And, as with every Righteous Media production, it’ll bring you the 5 I’s: Independence, Integrity, Information, Inspiration and Impact.

Beach Life. Re-lockdown Essentials. The Possibilities of Simulation Theory.

As summer winds down, Episode Twenty One of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast makes a splash as Rick finds his swimming groove and Sharon goes to the beach. It’s an episode that explores many facets of our now normal, and digs in to the very real possibility that we might have to lock back down. And speaking of possibilities, there’s a fascinating discussion of the unlimited possibilities that could exist in the multiverse. And/or it’s all just a simulation. Red pills for everyone!

Theremins & Making Music Telepathically. Everybody knows that August 29th is Judgement Day, right- “T2”? Rewatching ET.

Episode Twenty of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast takes a journey to the sentimental stories of our youth. A journey to find our place. Our new family units. Our home. And what better story to take you on that journey than “ET” and “T2”?
Try to keep up. There’s a lot happening here. We’ve got a healthy dose of sci fi movies and a demo of the original and ultimate sci fi music instrument, the Theremin. And the true, sad story about the inventor. But don’t worry. The rest is quite happy. And he did invent something cool that bears his name, so cheers to you Leon Theremin! And if you haven’t seen it yet, White Lotus is the real deal.

Right Here, Right Now, I Am Safe. Abstract & Awesome. Sharon’s Show & Tell.

Episode Nineteen of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast has Rick and Sharon taking a quick break from the real world to reconnect and reflect. Sharon shares her mantra for staying sane while reading the news. And then it’s time for Barbie shoes. Yes, Barbie shoes. It’s quite a collection and their carrying case is equally dazzling. Rick plays some guitar when Sharon magically shrinks down to a fraction of her regular size and walks around. Later, he is forced to meditate. Truly something for everyone.

Our favorite Mom and Son in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. Episode Nineteen is like another big hug from your mom, your best friend, your cat, or your Rabbi.

Parents & Their Kid’s Achievement’s. No Corpses in the Living Room. The People in the TV. The Matrix & Time Travelling Teachers.

Episode Seventeen of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast is a far out exploration of all things real. What happens after we die? Is it Deja Vu or is it a glitch in the matrix? What if the people in the TV can see us? While we’re not sure we’ve got all of the answers, we’re certain we’ve got a lot of questions. This episode is a deep dive into the more philosophical side of things that is sure to make you think and maybe you’ll have a couple of questions of your own.

A Pre-Pandemic Flashback. Moving to Mars. Too Much Information, Too Many Rabbit Holes.

Episode Thirteen of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast is a flashback to a more innocent time. A time before pandemics and insurrections. A time before masks and conspiracies. A time when we were thinking about how much information we were consuming. A time when we were considering what it would be like to move to Mars. And a horrible, horrible ice cream story from the past that says a lot about our current times.
It’s a fun look back and this episode of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast that we’re sure will resonate with you as you go through similar experiences yourself. Our favorite Mom and Son in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. Episode Thirteen is like another big hug from your mom, your best friend, your cat, or your Rabbi.

Things Are Different. To-Do Listing. Live Events…Yes or Nah? Rick’s Massive Lanyard Collection. Sharon’s Bowie Story.

Episode Eleven of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast has us thinking about the things we’ve missed over the last year. And making lists. Lists that define what is important, and what is not. Whether it’s a nostalgic look back at the 90s, Justin Bieber rhythm shaming his audience, to eating bugs, this episode has a little bit of everything. And a Joey Tribianni reference to boot. How you doing?

Everything is different, and everything is the same. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. The pandemic changed a lot, and as people get more and more used to their new routines, we’re all starting to have a better perspective on the last year. So Rick shares a sure fire solution that would have led to almost 100% vaccination rates among men. And he jokingly (?) shares that the desert changed him, and he’s got the country music receipts to prove it. Sharon shares her story about meeting Korn and Rick has a great story about hearing live music again. Plus, another great song from Rick, “Plant-Based Disaster”.
It’s another warm and fun episode of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast. Our favorite mom and son in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. And Episode Nine is like another warm hug from your mom, your best friend, your cat, or your Rabbi.
The last year has been a wild ride. This pod will help you recover from it. In a brash and loud pandemic world of stress and chaos, Everybody is like a warm vaccine of nice and lovely content. It’ll soothe your soul--and leave you feeling better than when you started. It’s a pod with real heart. And, as with every Righteous Media production, it’ll bring you the 5 I’s: independence, integrity, information, inspiration and impact.
Everybody and Your Mother Has a Podcast. But this one will quickly become one of your favorites. Call your mother!

Post-Pandemic reflections. Moving back home. The struggle to juggle. Going on first dates.

Change is in the air and Episode Eight of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast is a great snapshot of the current times. With the vaccine available and restrictions beginning to loosen, our hosts return to their respective homes and reflect on the experience in this fascinating episode. From missing cohabitation with the cat, to forgetting where the refrigerator is, everything is different.
Or is it? We’ve still got a great new song from Rick’s AMINAL SONGS project, with the (maybe) longest title in the world, “If You’re Pink Nose Matches Your Pink Pillow Case You’re a Little Baby”, stories of times when no one wore shoes, and Rick’s struggle to juggle. And a quick chat about getting back on planes and the joys of going out on dates again.
It’s another warm and fun episode of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast. Our favorite mom and son in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. And Episode Eight is like another warm hug from your mom, your best friend, your cat, or your rabbi.

Pineapple Pee-wee, The Phillie Phanatic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers: David’s Inspiring and Amazing Bar Mitzvah Story.

Episode Seven of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast has everything. Pee-wee Herman, Ninja Turtles, the Phillie Phanatic, lizards, turtles, new instrument solos and one of the most touching Bar Mitzvah stories you’ve ever heard. It’s an inspiring look back at the Bar Mitzvah of David, our host’s courageous son and brother, and their special and fond memories of the event. This is one that will lift your spirits, give you perspective and leave you smiling.
And later, things take a turn towards the reptilian side as Rick debuts his new Aminal song, “Little, Little Lizard Tongue” and Sharon tries her hardest to convince everyone she isn’t forcing a turtle to be her pet. It’s cool. We’re fine with it either way.
It’s another warm and fun episode of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast. Our favorite mom and son in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. And Episode Seven is like another warm hug from your mom, your best friend, your cat, or your rabbi.

“The Talk” for a Son on the Spectrum, Police Encounters of Two Kinds, ‘You Got To Sweep Before You Mop!’

Sharon Koppelman and Rick Sorkin take us for a trip down a winding memory lane in a fascinating exploration of race, privilege, band stories, gender identity, and Robots. Rick does his best nature documentary impersonation, describing the sounds of ‘Bros in the Wild’ that you don’t want to miss. Sharon shares [special needs] tales of raising son David.
Rick shares what it was like to have his entire band pulled over (twice) by Virginia cops after a gig. And we bring it all back full circle with a song about how sometimes, you need time to do things in a certain order, as Rick debuts his new song, “You Go To Sweep Before You Mop”.
It’s another warm and fun episode of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast. Our favorite mom and son in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. And Episode Six is like another warm hug from your mom, your best friend, your cat.

Mother’s Day 2021: Wheelchair, Art, Cinnamon & Smoking

This week’s special Mother’s Day episode of Everybody & Their Mother Has a Podcast has a little taste of everything. Art, music, smoking, wheelchairs, casinos, a dash of cinnamon…and tales of revenge. Rick shares his experiences with the classic schoolyard bully, and how his big brother was there for him when he needed him most. And then years later, how he faced down his nemesis. Sharon shares some of her more controversial art, and relates how she gave up cigarettes “cold turkey”. Plus, they share another all new Aminal Song premiere! “I Left My Cinnamon (in Santa Monica).”
It’s an empowering, pre-Mother’s Day episode of Everybody and Their Mother Has a Podcast. Our favorite mom and son in podcasting are bringing more warmth to your ears with every download. And Episode Five is like another warm cup of cocoa with your mom or best friend (or multiple cats). And comes just in time for Mother’s Day!
The past year has been a bumpy ride. This show will help you heal from it. In a brash and loud world of arguing and chaos, Everybody is like a lovely flower bouquet of colorful content. It’ll brighten your day--and leave you feeling better than when you started. And, as with every Righteous Media production, it’ll bring you the 5 I’s: independence, integrity, information, inspiration and impact.

<itunes:summary>This week’s special Mother’s Day episode of Everybody & Their Mother Has a Podcast has a little taste of everything.

Reflections, Robots & and Robert Redford. Rick gets hangry. Robots don't care. D!ck in a box. Mean girls don’t grow out of it. Draft texts. Sharon describes TV back in the day. Changing activities is hard.

Spring is here and the air is getting fresher, the birds are chirping and Rick and Sharon are in full bloom! And that means it’s *almost* time for white pants. (Or is it?) Rick has a great wild childhood story to share that may leave you chuckling, or maybe even ‘seen’. Sharon explains how she finds joy in a lack of schedules, and the realization that robots don’t need lights on to work(?!). And speaking of lights on, remember late night TV when it would go off the air after the Late, Late Show? Test patterns and the national anthem. Binge watch THAT!.

Cats From the 90s. Three-ish Life Lessons. Time Slip. Pandemic Babies. Sharon Invents Zoom. Zappa.

Everybody and Your Mother Has a Podcast. But this one will quickly become one of your favorites. Call your mother.

Subscribe: Apple Podcasts. Google Podcasts. Spotify. Amazon. TuneIn Radio.

Hear the song I Just Found a Tape from this episode.

Watch the conversation here:

https://youtu.be/WdnkONxyDJI

Learn more about your ad choices.
