What can you do if a bully troubles you? Don't keep quiet, tell someone and when you do you'll be able to move forward in the positive. You have a right to enjoy the rest of your day and you can tell the bully to do the same. I wrote this poem for you and my friends in the Story Village at Healing With Horses Park on the island of Tobago. I hope you enjoy reading along and will dance and sing with me. IT'S A GREAT DAY

Enjoy the rest of your day

Tell troubles to go away

Don't care what nobody says

It's a great day to have a great day (Repeat 5X)

Cause troubles may come ....ya don't know when,

When ya send them away...they come back again

If trouble is a bully, who calls you names,

Don’t bully back and cause more pain

Bullies are sad people, that is true

Don't mind them for what they do

They are hurting inside, not happy like you

and hurt people, hurt people too

Enjoy the rest of your day

Tell ya troubles to go away

Don't care what nobody says

It's a great day to have a great day

So laugh and smile...it will soon end.

Opossum discovers a greedy Raccoon eating up all the crawfish in the pond. Great googamooga! Kooyah! Wha' is dis? A big argument fo' sho! Will Opossum and Racoon ever be friends or will they starve to death as enemies?

Aunti Oni wrote this version based on the classic Biloxi, Mississippi folktale, "Why Opossum Plays Possum" Specially dedicated to Zora Neale Hurston, of Eatonville, Florida, one of the greatest storytellers who ever lived. "Stepped on de pin, de pin bent and dat's de way da story went"....a folk storytelling song/chant recorded by Zora Neale Hurston.

Two nighttime children's classic poems by Paul Laurence Dunbar (1865-1906) of Dayton, Ohio. Dunbar wrote his first poem at the age of 6. He was 19 when he self-published his first book of poetry and went on to write novels, short stories, plays, and musicals.

Paul Dunbar was gifted, he wrote poetry and stories in the American southern dialect, as you heard in A Cabin Tale (episode 10), and in the American northern dialect here in these two poems.

"Want a story? Now just hear dat! Where do I get a story at?" Paul Laurence Dunbar's A Cabin Tale is a classic African American poetic folk tale published in 1895 in Dayton, Ohio.

Dunbar gives voice to the grandfather/mother (elder) figure of southern plantation days in America. The simplest of settings - a young child sitting at the knee of a wise sage asking for a story.

Listen closely to what happens when the little Weasel tricks the big BAD bear.
